  • ⛔️ My 2¢:

I am planning to return the Pixel Watch 1 LTE I got from the Student Beans deal. The crown is unreliable, often requiring 2 or more presses before it registers the input. The secondary button is way too recessed and hard to press. Software experience isn't as smooth as my previous Galaxy Watch4, or even my old Fossil running Wear OS 2. I am disappointed, because I really wanted to like it, and the actual watchface design is gorgeous.

Picked up a Galaxy Watch6 instead from yesterday's incredible deal.

"The crown is unreliable, often requiring 2 or more presses before it registers the input."

weird. the persistent crown issue I'm aware of is it stops scrolling but it could have been pushing too. it even happens in google's own default watch apps like when browsing settings and stuff right? to me it sounds like a hardware issue because I assume you updated the watch and everything and the issue still keeps happening.

      • Yes, it's not as commonly reported as the scrolling issue, but I was able to find a couple of threads mentioning it:

And a thread mentioning the touchscreen lag I have also experienced.

I am not really sure whether it's a software or hardware issue – my sister has had the same gen-1 watch for several months, and she has experienced the same issues.

Following the Pixel 7 touchscreen issue, I have totally lost confidence in buying any Google hardware. Their quality has dropped significantly since my last purchase years ago (Pixel 3).

yup I mean I read/heard about it from almost a year ago but the crown issue is wide spread enough that after reading about it X amount of times I avoided the Pixel watch 1 entirely. not only did the issue exist soon after release, but I was watching youtube reviews mentioning it many months after and complaining how updates hadn't fixed it which personally tells me - hardware issue.

          • @harshbdmmaster718: Ahh wow. Yeah, well that wouldn't surprise me then, given how poorly designed the secondary button is. Funnily enough, IIRC I read there are similar issues with the Pixel Watch 2. 🙄

this is literally what I was warning other users about on the previous Pixel watch 2 deal. you should "wait and see" I said. but maybe my comment came off too harshly because it got downvoted lol (I just checked, back up to -1 now so at least I think I got through to some users). well their loss I guess.

    • Wait, you dont need the matching phone for the watches to work?

      • No. Same with Galaxy Watch.

That should have been the RRP for its battery life and paid subscription involved

    • What's this subscription for?

      • Fitbit Premium

Lol rip. Samsung Health on the other hand is genuinely really good and 100% free.

I have had this watch and its battery is pus, good luck getting it to last a day.

This is junk but could make a good cheap sleep tracker

Not sure what others are doing with their Pixel 1 watches, mine is the non-LTE version, and the battery normally lasts the whole day 7am to 10pm with ~20% battery left, with auto brightness on as well as wifi and Bluetooth turned on.

Do not buy this model. I have returned 3.

Marketed as water proof and website even says you can swim in it, you can't! It is barely water resistant.

Crown is unresponsive and will give out. Other buttons get sticky as well.

I even had the back plate that touches your skin come off, the glue is gave out. Likely from moisture when taken off to shower.

Avoid!!!!! But if you an be bothered google support will replace. The process is just cumbersome

    • What about the pixel watch 2? Better?
