Good afternoon Ozbargainers. Looks like a lot of people will migrate to Kenya for cheap Netflix with very simple steps.

Because I suck at formatting, no table from me but price comparison are the following:

Australia Prices:

Basic Plan: (No longer available in Australia unless you previously were on it)

Standard with Ads: AU$6.99/month

Standard: AU$16.99/month

Premium: AU$22.99 / month

Kenyan Prices

Basic: 300 KES /month (~AU$2.93)

Standard: 700 KES /month (~AU$6.84)

Premium: 1,100 KES /month (~AU$10.74)

Note: Basic plan it's 720p (HD) and only for one device, Standard plan 1080p (Full HD) and for two devices, Premium plan it's 4K + HDR (Ultra HD) and for four different devices.

How to Sign up: (Super Easy Steps)

  1. Connect your VPN to Kenya (I used free TunnelBear VPN)

  2. Once you are connected to VPN Kenya. Go to the Netflix website. https://www.netflix.com/au/

  3. Sign up to an account (I haven't tried a pre-existing account, possibly it will work).

  4. Choose a plan. Image

  5. Pay with your card that doesn't have any international fees (Revolut most likely will fail) Please report back to update post.
    Cards that work: UP Bank, Bankwest Platinum Zero, Commbank, Qantas mastercard, Macquarie debit card, NAB,

  6. Disconnect your VPN and you are ready for Netflix. 🍿

You can transfer your old profile to your new Netflix.

It works like this:
• Go to netflix.com
• Click Login at the top right.
• Enter the email address or telephone number and the password of the old account on which your Netflix profile is located.
• Click on Log in.
• Click on your profile.
• Click on the picture of your profile / your avatar at the top right.

    I can confirm existing (lapsed) Netflix account works, but doing it via browser on PC failed (with Kenya VPN active) - had to log in via browser on mobile (via Kenya VPN). Thanks OP! Haven't had Netflix for 6 months as refused to pay $22 p/m for premium.

    what people need to think about is you can rush into the cheapest location this month be it Kenya, Argentina, Pakistan, Turkey or wherever but longer term it's the country with the fast depreciating currency that will be cheapest until Netflix hikes the price, so I'd suggest this will be Turkey or Argentina. Nobody doubts Netflix is well aware of what is happening however I suspect that they choose to stop the majority account sharing in their own country but turn a blind eye to those who want to circumnavigate paying in their own country as they may lose that sub completely & also that when they block one workaround another will likely be found

    Thanks OP, worked as per instructions. Been wanting to sign up to Netflix again. $10.69 via Macquarie debit card (Bankwest didn't work, I'm guessing rejected due to anti-fraud or something).

    I did it in on my pc, new account. VPN connected to Kenya. I couldn't get past the mobile verification. I closed the browser and reopened it, signed back in, VPN still connected, however it tried picking up where it left off with no option to ship. I click the mobile verification and it has a Kenyan international prefix already selected. I can't get around that bit

    Nah it goes back to the bit where it wants my card details, I entered them a second time with the same result.
    If only there was a way to enter a digital Kenyan mobile that forwards to my aussie one this would work for everyone

      If you haven't paid yet I would scratch the whole account. And start fresh on a mobile device. I used android device, TunnelBear VPN (Free), Chrome Browser. No mobile number or verification was asked.

      Note: I would use a fresh email too.

      Yeah, sometimes that happens. It depends on the bank. Maybe try to use some of the banks mentioned on description but potentially are more that work.

      I would just wait and try with a different card. Or alternatively you can be part of someone's else "Family" on the 4K plan. They already paid, the have 4 devices for Netflix. But it needs to be someone you can trust. You don't want anyone to get the money and then kick you out.

      You tried connecting without vpn. Once connected to netflix. Connect to vpn.

    Thanks OP. I had a small hurdle with the mobile verification. All I did was, disconnect the vpn and connect it back. And clicked on complete signup and it worked. :)

    I did get it to work using the mobile using citibank debit card. Even on mobile it asked for mobile confirmation using my 28 degrees card (latitute). Thanks for the heads up guys.

    So I have got the Kenyan account. I also have my normal Aussie account. I can't work out how to transfer profiles as described by OP. Can/should I just terminate the Aussie account or…??     Used tunnelbear on phone, signed up for new account through Kenya and processed payment first time with Wise account.

    After payment it asked for phone number for recovery but i just closed it at that point as it had already signed up successfully.

    Worked perfectly.

      Reporting back after a week and abit (6/Jan), re-sub to netflix using this on 29/Dec. so far so good.

      Will revert back again in a month's time after the next monthly charge or if got cancelled/refunded (fingers crossing)

      No refunds, Netflix asked me to contact bank for this, for me, the amount was deducted a day before the cancellation.
