  • Any word on when you’ll get HC580 drives? 24TB

    • Not yet. We are struggling to get 20TBs and 22TBs these days, like very small supply. We will get some whenever is available, but not all the time.

These are the OEM stock, means these hard drives are part of the large order and have a special term on the warranty.
According to our supplier, the current 16TB and 18TB on the market are the excessive part of the OEM orders.

Due to the price and demand, 24TB OEM HDD are still hot and not "excessive" yet.

  • @Neology if you’re buying for example 2 drives and there is only one left in one tier of the pricing will it let you purchase one drive at the lower rate and one and the next tier or will it force the two to be purchased at the same rate?

    Thanks

    • +1

You can buy HDD with mixed discount tiers with 1+1 or 1+2 or 2+2 or 1+3 or 1+1+1 as long as stock is available.
As long as you buy everything in one order(add both/all into cart then checkout), so that the postage only to be calculated once for the total order.

    Hi Guys,

Firstly, thanks to the feedbacks from @perf, @raybies, @Sandaz, @Horacio, @lyle88. We welcome feedback and always seek room for the improvement
Secondly, I read your comments and share your concerns regarding to the prices, quantity and headline presentation.

We never had the intention to gamification the sale on OzB - I am not new here and not just run a once-off deal the run away. We would like to establish our brand, reputation and long term relationship with OzBers here and share the product at a decent price with many of you.

It was more of my willingness to bring the best price of HDD to OzBers, and the discount tiers might be too aggressive with very limited quantity.
In the meantime, we would like to try a different type of sale from the previous ones, with more incentive and engagement.

We appreciate your feedback, and here is what we have done/going to do:
    1. We removed the price of the new 10TB from the title as the quantity is insufficient - to reduce the headline pricing misinterpretation. Price of 16TBs are in the title which is the model with the most available stock.
    2. We added "Limited Qty" in the headline to enhance clarity.
    3. We have made adjustments to the new drive quantity on associated discount levels - we intend to bring affordable data storage solutions to more people. I believe with the adjustment, it would improve the opportunities for more OzBers to purchase at our discounted prices. In this case, total quantity offering with each model remains the same.

Hope these changes improves the experiences and the opportunities for more OzBers enjoys our products with discounted prices.

Good luck to all of you on the boxing day sale!

    Merry Christmas!

  • Any u.2 ssd ?

    • PM us the capacity or model you after, we will check it for ya

    • Why not just use the U.2 to M.2 caddy… ~$19.

      • My caddies are all u.2 from trenton systems

  • ironwolf pro 20tb?

    • +1

We’ve only got recertified IW 20TB at this stage.
Will have a flash deal on it

      • Been keeping an eye out but haven't seen anything. Did I miss it?

  • EXOS drives are good but NOISY. No way you could put them in a NAS anywhere where you like a bit of quiet.

    • We have a DS1821 with mixed WD DC HC550 and EXOS 18TBs in our office, approx 1 meter from my desk, and noisy level is acceptable.

EXOS has different series and type of disks. We noticed the air disk are generally louder than the helium ones.

Noise level on X16, X18 and X20 series are not too bad.

    • Have them in my pc they are fine noise wise

  • M curious to understand how to differentiate if it is refurbished or oem brand new? How do we know if a supplier not selling refurnished oem?

    • To differentiate from refurbished and new ones,
1.their labels are different. Please refer to the photo of actual hard drive between new one https://neology.com.au/products/st16000nm001g and recertified one: https://neology.com.au/products/r-st16000nm001g
      2. Recertified usually have "Recertified SN" laser mark on the disk next to the SN barcode, which makes the official recertified drives pretty obvious… please see it here: https://imgur.com/a/lbbg9Cl

      You may be interested:
10.What's the difference between "Recertified" and "Refurbished" hard drives
Recertified is offiically refurbished by manufacturer, it has gone through manufacturer's QA process to reset SMART data and perform certain test before release to the market. Seagate replace the label and use "recertified" wording on the label for such products. Usually recertified products are provided as warranty replacement.
Refurbished is renew by third party other than manufacturer. It may be formatted or tested to ensure the hard drive is healthy. Usually the label remains the same as the retail product and there are power on hours.

We CLEARLY mark a hard drive is a New, Recertified or Refurbished in our product listing. And also provide SMART data from each range for your reference:

Would love some 22TB deals if you’ve got any

    • We will have new and recertified 22TBs in the flash pop-up sales.

  • Been drinking most of the day and now I need to stay up for this… Better not get beaten by scripts

  • Nice, two ST16000NM001G snagged

    • Of course, I'm now thinking that TWO was a stupid number to get - should have grabbed either three or one. #Sigh

  • I popped two 18TB drives into an order at 12AM and when I reached the end of the checkout process it told me I could only have one which is fine so I ordered a second one for $10 more.
The only issue is I have now paid for postage twice, if I email in is there any chance I can get one of the shipping costs refunded please?

    • +2

PM me both order numbers, we can combine the shipping and refund you postage difference,

  • Grabbed two (new) 12'ves thanks for the deal.

    • Cheers

  • How are these packed? HDDs in the mail is my idea of a bad idea, untill you see the way I drive and maybe the poor HDD would prefer to be posted.

Seriously, any Melb pickup option or courier option or authorise without signature to save a pointless trip to the post office?

    • +1

      Hi There,

Please refere to our blog on how the hard drives are packed for delivery:
      https://neology.com.au/blogs/news/ensuring-safe-delivery-how…

By default, all our orders require Signature on delivery. There will be an option choose "Authority to Leave" in a safe place in the AusPost App when you receive your tracking number. Can you PM me your order number so I'll make sure the safe drop option is available for your order?

Hopefully this helps, and potentially save you a trip to the post office.

      Neology Tech Team

      • Sure thing, the app sometimes says authorise to leave not available. If you could set it up from the start that would be great. I'll pm my order number now.

Stock of some models are on the way to our warehouse. Logistic timeframe is unpredictable during Christmas and New Year time.
And we also have limited resources in the warehouse to process orders.

Orders may dispatch earlier, but we don't want to give our customers false hope in case there is any delay.

      • upvote for honesty and transparency

  • Possible to pickup instead of shipping them? There's no option to do so on the website. I'm not far from Box Hill (Kerrimuir)

    • Unfortunately, pick up is not available due to limited staffing and time arrangement.

We also need to keep the records for logistic information and show proof of delivery in case a credit card/paypal dispute arise.

      • Understood, I'm holding out for the ST16000NM000J @ 16:00

  • @Neology are these 2 flash sales mixed around? As i see the 14TB currently $399 but the 16 not on the boxing day sale yet? Or is the 14 gonna drop lower than the $399? I just realised time is prob in melbs time lol

    • Hi Mate,

Thanks for raise it. The schedule is AEDT - Melb and Syd Time.

Flash sale will be live one at the time. The WUH721816ALE6L4 sale has finished and WUH721414ALE6L4 is currently on sale for $389.

The eBay seller is not associated with us, and they may have a different DoA and warranty terms.

      • cheers i'll grab a couple of the 14's they have one of the best failure rates especially better than the seagate exos included. your site mentions in stock fast shipping, do these ship out sooner than everything else?

  • Hey Neology, any chance we could have a flash deal on the Recertified 18TB X18 Exos below $350 please?

Also just wondering why do some Recertified drives have choice of 3 or 12 month warranty but the Boxing Day sale ones have 3 years warranty. Is that a mistake?

    • +1

      X20 18TB R-ST18000NM003D will be $349.95 in flash deal.
All recertified drive comes with 12 months warranty in the boxing day sale.

It was typo in the listing, which has been fixed now.

We will reach out to customers who placed order with Recertified drives to clarify the warranty length.

      Thank you

  • How are exos for NVRs ? compared to wd purples

  • This is annoying. I tried selecting the ultra star recertified for $229 but then as try to check out from it I get an error and the listing is removed. I’m kinda pissed at this. I’m just gonna go buy my drives from somewhere else

    • Sorry to hear that and your experience. Flash sale ends 2 hours becomes alive. It seems you don’t accept PM. Can you send me a PM so I can help you with your order?

      Thanks

My order arrived quicker that I expected, I thought it was going to arrive mid to late Jan. They must have had stock or maybe I misread something. It was well packed and Aust post managed to leave it on my doorstep as requested.

    • We have stock of majority of items, and already dispatched 50+ orders for the boxing day sale.

Due to the order volume, reduced staff capacity, AusPost delay during the holiday season and some popular items might be need to be backordered, we anticipate the delay and are being conservative on the dispatch ETA.

  • +1

    Hi Guys,

We are processing orders and progressively dispatching orders based on the sequence of the orders. The next batch will be dispatched on the 2nd Jan 2024, when AusPost opens.

We understand it is the holiday season and you may have holiday plans. Please feel free to PM us if you would like us to prioritise or delay dispatch of your order, in case you have a holiday plan and want the hard drive to be delivered before or after certain dates.

Wish all of you enjoys the festival season and have a happy new year!

    Best Regards,
    Neology Technology Team

  • Received my 16tb today and it's well packaged but its mfg date is June 2021. Being 2.5 years old is disappointing and slightly suspicious to be honest.

    • +1

      Hi mate,

We are glad to hear that you've already got your order.

We receive random DOM over the time, for ST16000NM001G specifically, most are between 2019-2022, a couple of instances with 2023 in small quantity. We observed DOM are mostly between Feb2021 to Feb2022 from the most recent batch.

We also observed DOM of ST20000NM007D are between Jan2022-May2023; ST22000NM001E has Jan 2023-Aug2023.

Come to your order, for any reason, if you are not happy with the product or you have suspicion on the hard drive condition, feel free to send us a PM or email to [email protected], quote you order number and we can work something out for you.

      Cheers,
      Neology

    Hi OzBers,

    Happy New Year 2024!

It has been an amazing year 2023, and thanks for all your support.

We received a large amount of orders from the boxing day sales event, and we are working hard to getting your orders processed and dispatched over the holiday season. We are facing challenges with staff capacity as we have team members on leave. So we are facing challenges with delay on the order processing and invocing.

We have dispatched all orders require express services, and we are currently up to order number NT136x by COB today and will keep getting more orders ready during the weekends.

We are also waiting for some items on backorder come to our warehouse, such as Recertified Seagate Exos X16 16TB.

In the meantime, we are here to help:
    1. If you wish your order to be prioritised, please feel free to PM me or reply to your order confirmation email, we will try out best to get your order dispatched (subject to stock availability);
    2. If you have received your order and haven't got your tax invoice, we haven't forgot, we will send tax invoice via email for every order. Sometimes the invoice email may go into your junk/spam mailbox. If you still need assistance with your tax invoice, please feel free to reach out via PM or email, we will do our best to help;
    3. If you have received your order and require help with product, such as DoA claim, please fill up the form: https://neology.com.au/pages/warranty-claim-form , our RMA team member will help with the claim within 24 business hours.

For eveythiing else, please feel free to reach out via PM and email.

Wish all of you enjoy this festival season and have a great year ahead in 2024!

Our team has been working hard to dispatch orders. We have dispatched all orders for boxing day sale, except for a few orders requested specific dispatch dates.

Many of you should already received your order, or have the order on the way to you.

    Thanks again for your support!!

    • The timestamps on your posts are concerning 😀

      • This becuase we are having stocks on the way to our warehouse at the time we post the deal. Logistic timeframe during Christmas and New Year are often unpredictable. That's why we are being conservative on the ETA.
