Getting 10% back in gift cards is not the same as getting a 10% discount.

    • You’re right, but great for those with price protection cards

      • +14

I’ve got no issue with the deal, but the title is completely misleading.

  • Get almost 20% discount on MacBooks

    How?

    • +2

10% discount on Macs plus the 10% on gift cards. But it is not 20% off on Macs

      • Where can I get 10% off on gifcards?

        • You don't. You get them in bonus gift cards for spending $250+

Bonus 10% in eGift Cards When You Spend $250 or More

        • You get the gift cards when you spend $250 plus in Harvey Norman then if you like to add that to your initial 10% discount on Macs it will be almost 20% discount Macs. But it is not literally 20% off on Macbooks.

          • +1

@AirJordan23: I don't think you can add that discount directly onto the sale, before you actually get the GC.

            Can anyone confirm?

Edit: T&C's confirm not applicable in same transaction.

eGift card is not redeemable for cash and cannot be used in the transaction in which it is issued.

Bonus gift card instead of direct discount. Not good enough. Gerry may know ppl prefer buying from JB or OWS if they could match the discounted price

  • Anyone know the cheapest way to get an Apple Watch right now? Any 40mm Watch with cellular is fine (not series 3)

    • Always go refurbished direct from Apple. This way you can still buy AppleCare for it - a smashed Apple Watch costs close to the new watch price to repair. They update the stock once a day, so keep checking back until the SE in 40mm comes in stock, it's pretty often. I've bought my kids the 40mm SE from here in the past and they're like new.

      • Do they come with proper packaging and with all accessories?

  • +10

Out of principle, will never buy from these (profanity)

    • 100% im getting office works to price beat someone now just to not buy my ultra 2 from here

      • What price and who are you using for the price beat with OW?

  • Anyone aware of any deals on HN gc

  • is this Online Only or in store too?

  • +6

Gift Cards are issued by Derni Pty Ltd and expire 1 months from the date of issue

If you didn't need another reason to not shop at HN

    • +4

      Wtf this is useless then

There’s a law where gift cards cant expire in less than 3 years but I guess they’re skirting around it since these ones are ‘bonuses’

  • +1

    Looking at the MacBook M3 Pro 16” 18GB / 512 - $3864 + 10% GC = $386.40

Any other deals better than this at the moment? I’ve looked around, seems to be the best I can find.

FYI Gift Cards expire 1 months from the date of issue

    • +1

Yup, it expires in 30 days. You need to spend it right away is the downside of the GC from HNs

  • Sometimes I wonder, if people hate HN so much, why they still in business

    • +3

Because most of their customers aren’t OzBargainers

    • Older generation i suspect

  • I just purchased washing machine yesterday from HN and missed this deal 😑😭

    • +2

Not really surprising that if you had simply waited a day or 2 you would have likely got a better deal during Boxing Day sales.

HN or someone else will likely have an even better deal tomorrow on the washing machine you bought yesterday.

      • Ideally they should price match if there is price difference on purchase item in the last 7 days I will go and give a try 😑

  • The 30 day GC expiry is likely not legal but the bit about If you refund the item you purchased they deduct the GC amount from the refund should get them fined.

  • +1

So the e-gift card expires in a month? Is there a way around that like buying a gift card with it…?

  • Anyone has received the gc yet? Does gc issue immediately? Would like to 2 things in separate transactions and use the first gc.

    • Would like to know also

    • I know it’s a bit late, auburn store was jam packed easily 100 people lining up to pay.

GC was issued instantly, it was a plastic card, and you can use it to buy another item of $250+ value to get an additional 10% card.

For example, you get a $250 gift card (by spending $2,500) then you use that GC, you’ll get $25 back on another GC.

      • Their website says the cards are issued electronically. So this is not the case? Im about to buy a vlick and collect item. Obviously you went in store. Possibly thats the difference.

        • Physical cards exactly the same as a GC (for in-person sales)

  • +1

Has anyone that purchased online received their gc yet?

  • I did my click and collect this morning and e-gift card was sent online

  • Still waiting for gc after online purchase.
Chatted to hn today and they said it would have to be manually processed, can take 1 - 3 weeks. What a pain. Wanted to use it right away 😕 sigh

  • +1

Still waiting for my card after collecting on the 27th.
Store says online is a different entity so they can't help.
I'm told by the store it usually takes 24-48 hours to email me the e-gift card but may take a week or two due to the Christmas surge.

Online chat (note no contact phone number) says I should wait as it will take several weeks if I need to request it be manually processed.

All seems a bit of a scam since none of this is in the T&Cs.

    • same with me, so annoying :(

  • I was stung by this HN con, ordered an iPhone online for same day click n collect from my local franchise and order was held for 'fraud review' then subsequently cancelled. I was eventually refunded, but received radio silence from Customer Service for over a week and eventually a flat out refusal to reinstate my order and provide gift card. I had no idea that Harvey Norman were so loathed, but I'm now a vocal anti-fan!

  • +1

I received my order on Monday for an online order with no mention of a gift card.
Spoke to live chat today who 'confirmed' that my product was not eligible for gift card.
I was honestly quite shocked to hear this.
So I copied the T+C's from this page asking the agent to find the brand of my purchase mentioned in there.
The agent then proceeded to submit a request for a gift card in which I'll get an update after 24-48 hours.

I think it will be last time I shop HN once I get my gift card.

  • Anyone else still waiting for their gift card?
