  • Does this include international calls?
    If yes, which countries?

  • Is this 5g

    • Yes. I got it during the blk friday sale

      • How’s the coverage and data speeds so far on 5G?

        • +4

Abyssmal everywhere I've been (Perth CBD, SOR). Have to have 5G turned off on my phone because otherwise anything like internet browsing usually just hangs before timing out and I have to flip it to 4G anyway.

          • +1

@hotphil: Yeah my mate gave up on vodafone options and went with auspost 365 plan instead which is on the Optus 5G network. Less data but similar price and you'll get reception in more places.

  • +2

Very tempting but not sure I want to come back to Vodafone and their bs CS and cancellation via phone only…

      What's CS mate?

        customer service?

        Customer Service

      • +20

It’s a way of saving time by not typing customer service. As you can see it’s saved a lot of time for the writer and wasted everyone else’s time.

Don’t you usually port out to the next deal? No contact required?

      • Yeah usually but occasionally Vodafone would "forget" that the number has been ported and might still charge you for a while. Happened to me once when I ported my number to Belong under Telstra.

        • +7

How can that happen with prepaid?

        • +2

If you're on prepaid voucher, they won't even have your payment information to charge you unless you give it to them.

    • +1

I was with them for 2 months to test out their 5G, when I port out they charge me a $6 "exit fee" and they system still send me a bill 2 months later until i call them to fixed the problem.

Personally would not go to Vodafone anytime soon and would not recommend anyone to go there unless absolute bargain for their services.

It was $99.99 during the black Friday sale.

  • How does the "Instant Rebate" work at Costco's? is $119.99 what you pay or is the $80 rebate store credit or something?
I'm a member but not shopped there yet.

    • +2

It's just a flat discount applied at checkout - at least in my experience there anyway.

    • +2

$119.99 is what you pay to the cashier.

    • +1

it's a wanky US marketing term meaning discount.

in the US shops (including supermarkets) often you have to produce a coupon to get a discount price. without the coupon you pay full price.

Costco in Oz don't do the coupon thing, they just give everyone the discount, but being yanks, they've kept the terminology.

Does anyone know when the sim card must be activated by to get the 240 GB of data and 1200 minutes of international calls?

    • Keen to know as well

    • If it helps the back of the sim says it needs to be activated within 365 days

    • It must be activated by 24/02/2024 to receive the 90GB bonus.

      • Does this mean if you activate after this date then you only get 150gb?

        • Looks like it.

      • -2

This is a different plan. You get 240GB regardless of when it is activated.

        • Well, I just bought and activated and that's what it says. You can buy and activate after 24/02/2024 and see if you get 240GB. It's at your own risk.

          • @SR9: If you see referring the plan on the website, that's a different plan with only 150gb of data and 90 bonus with no international calls.

This is a different plan and Costco exclusive.

            Refer to post below

            • @linkii: I'm not referring to the post. Sharing the experience that I bought the sim last week when it started to go on sales for $119.99 and activated on the same day and that's what I saw. Unless I bought the old sim but that's what I got.

It literally tells you here that you must activate by 22/02/2024 to get the bonus data.

  • I got a Costco gift card for Christmas but don't have a membership - would I be allowed in?

  • can you add esim to Apple Watch with this?

    • -1

No, it only works with Samsung watch

    • +2

Wanting cellular on the Apple Watch is literally quadrupling the cost of phone plans for me …

    • +1

No, you are pretty much locked to postpaid plans with the 3 major telecoms.

  • How about Office Works will price match !?

    • +1

More than likely OW will not price match/beat, but I’ve gotten them to do it a few times.

Anyone know of a good deal on prepaid data only plan?

  • How’s Vodafone prepaid with roaming?

Can you receive SMS when abroad?

    • +2

Kids have Kogan (Vodafone) and receive SMS fine when overseas

  • I am tempted to get this one for the data only, since my Boost data is running out (and not renewable till Aug).

Does anyone know if Vodaphone will swap this to esim free of charge after the plan activation?

Was thinking to continue to use Boost as primary service, but data from Voda.

    • +1

Mine was converted to esim without any cost

  • What’s the upcoming Woolworths offer?

    • There's an amazing, but apparently little known feature on this website called Search you pop in say Vodafone and it finds all the Vodafone deals posted! Amazing right?

on the desktop it's in the top right-hand side.
on a mobile its in the top left when you tap the hamburger menu (the three horizontal lines left of "Ozbargain").

it's even quicker then posting in the comments!

Here's a link to the results for searching for Vodafone! be prepared to be amazed!

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/search/node/Vodafone%20type%3Ao…

      • That is certainly amazing, thank you kind sir for your insight

      • Actually, I thought there was a competing offer from Woolworths Mobile.

Does this work with existing users? currently on month to month pre paid w Vodafone, can I purchase this to extend?

  • Plenty of stocks at Crossroads NSW

    • Do you know if stock usually last till end period?

      • No idea. But last time it was half price, it sold out before the end of the coupon date

  • Wish there was a telstra deal or is Vodafone 5g on par now?

  • Heaps at marsden park…there were two different packs, 1 of them is the same as black friday and mentioned international calls included, the other one didnt ..both are the same price @119.99

  • Too bad you wont be able to use it. Their coverage is crap…

    • Really depends where you are. Vodafone is better at my house and the train I catch to work in Melbourne than Telstra…

OFC if you go on holiday to a regional area GL with vodafone lol

  • This is for new customer
Officework do price match but they need proof of the product.
Meaning we need to show photo or catalog in the product.
Is anyone have it the costco official offer page link or cataloge?

  • Can you churn from Kogan to this, both being Vodafone?

  • Out of stock at Docklands

Went to officeworks and they did price beat. Paid $113

    https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/vodafone-2…

      • Yes that's correct. I went to officeworks in Maribyrnong VIC.

Locate the vodafone sim card at officeworks below and bring to the front desk

        https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/vodafone-2…

Went to the front desk and showed officeworks the costco link above and they price beat. No questions asked

        • Thanks I’ll try that tomorrow

          • @frozzer: Officeworks can’t price match for me as they needed a model number on the Costco website in order to price match it. There’s no model number as it’s just on the catalogue.

    • Yes but seems like officework SIM card does not have free international calls.
      Have you checked and compared?
Officework card says "50 international standard texts." It does not mentioned about calls.

      • This deal is exclusive to Costco

    • They only agreed to price match 1 as it was a catalogue, and not a link (???)

  • Sold out at Ringwood Costco unfortunately!

    • Tons today!

  • Could this be used in a mobile broadband router?

    • Yes

  • Moorabbin Costco has abt 8 left

  • Does anyone know if I can activate and port my number to this sim and then convert to eSIM without physically putting the Vodafone sim in my phone?

My brother bought me one from the Costco $99 sale but I can’t get to his house to pick it up at the moment. If he sent pictures can I activate and move to eSIM?

    Thanks

    • I don't think so. You have to do the eSIM swap on the mobile app, which requests for an OTP sent to the number before allowing you to access My Account.

      • Thanks. I’ve organised to go pick it up. I appreciate your response though !

I'll award you that Silver badge you deserve for sharing this good deal!
