  • Better than those Panasonic-cell deals!

    • The new Eneloops!

    • Is GP a known brand?

      • +1

        Yes

        • I had to look up where did GP come from.

Gold Peak Technology Group in Hong Kong, GP Batteries has rapidly expanded to become one of the world's major suppliers of primary and rechargeable batteries.

@HardQuiz: Shitty company though. I stopped using them many years ago when they tried to hide cadmium poisoning events at many of their factories (cadmium poisoning is really, really horrible).

Also noticed that their pre-LSD rechargables were really unreliable, and the wrapping tended to tear more easily when popping them out of devices.

Bad choice for both value and ethical reasons.

I have bought GP brand button batteries a few times in the past. It has been around for over a decade but I would not say it as good quality. More like average quality in term of how long these batteries last.

  • tempted

    • Buy now, think later

  • what about CR2016? I never see those on sale

  • no CR2450 from GP… sigh

    • Chasing some also for welding helmet.

The Reject Shop has a 4 pack of these CR2032s for $4 (Toshiba) - not sure of the actual difference between brands.

    • Kmart has 4 anko ones for $5, in case no rejectshop nearby

    • UB 2028… plenty good for 1 year discharge rate for certain devices.

  • +2

What’s the difference between these and the ones on eBay besides delivery speed?

    • Fake ? Panasonic

I haven't had much luck with buying coin batteries on eBay. They don't seem to last long at all.

      • Yeah, with batteries they all get their positive feedback before the batteries go flat early. Old stock, batches of seconds, fakes, etc… I'd rather pay a couple of dollars more to not have to reset a clock or something in a few months.

    • +1

In my experience the eBay ones ain't bad. I got mine for about $2.50 free shipping. Each battery last 6-8 months. Which isn't the best but hey it's about 3-4 years to use up the 5 batteries which is a W for me.

    • Looks like a deal you should post ;-)

  • +4

Ikea used to have own-branded CR2032 for $4 for 8 pack. Not on their website anymore - maybe they don't advertise non-rechargeable batteries anymore, maybe they don't sell them at all.

    • +2

Their smart home stuff still uses them extensively so I'd be surprised if they don't sell matching batteries.

      • +2

They're slowly phasing them out; e.g. the popular square Tradfri wireless dimmer switch was discontinued Jan 1 and replaced with the Rodret that uses a single 1.2V NiMH AAA.

I never had much luck with Ikea's CR2032 cells though, they didn't seem to last very long.

    • +1

I just bought two packs last week for $6 each plus 10% Ikea family discount, I think $6 is a special price not sure what their normal price is. https://ibb.co/dfGQKRC

  • Can confirm GP are a decent brand, the capcaity is >200mAhr.

  • +1

Not sure how this is a deal. Quality coincells always available cheap elsewhere (as discussed in comments)

    • +1

Agreed, button cells are cheap and tend to last so long that it's not worth chasing the last cent.

  • Anyone know if the kmart ones are OK? 4 for $5

    • I’ve used them in alarm sensors and they last for decent time

Japanese maxell from https://www.justbatteries.com.au/products/cr2032-ecr2032-cr2… 5 for $4.99 delivered. Other button batteries are/were similarly well-priced

    • +3

      One 1 for $4.99

      • Thanks, my bad. Cart didn't update when I tested. My pre-Xmas 1632 purchase deal is still up I see. $12.99/5

  • Looks like you'll need to buy 1 at a time to get $7.57 and the coupon would only get you -$0.84 in one transaction no matter how many qty you added. I bought 2 separate transactions to get 2 packs at $7.57 (not sure if you need prime to get the additional 10% coupon, the first one was next to the prime logo for me).

  • I assume this wont fit for CR2025?

    • +2

The 20 in these means the diameter so it is the right size but the 32 means it is 3.2mm wide and your battery is 2.5mm wide so depending this one will be too fat for your device.
