$15.16 a Week for Yearly Gym Membership, $0 Joining Fee @ Select Anytime Fitness Gyms

957
GOLD22

Seems to be a generic corporate coupon that is getting passed around at the moment.

A few people in the comments on the last page are being asked for proof of employment at the businesses that are associated with this deal. In the link below, scroll up and you can see all those businesses. If you can figure out how to convince AF you work at one of those businesses, you should be able to start a discounted membership.

  • Go to https://www.anytimefitness.com.au/corporate-membership/#part…
  • Select your local gym; if listed
  • If you are actually going to sign up, enter your real contact info. If you are just checking prices, enter bogus contact information otherwise they will start the marketing calls/emails. Continue.
  • Enter the GOLD22 code and whatever the weekly fee is for that gym will be reduced to $15.16 per week for a year long contract.

Not the greatest price in the world, but cheaper than if you were going to just sign up normally.

$0 joining fee but keep in mind the $79 fob you need to buy is non-refundable. I've been told you can use it again and avoid the charge if you stop your membership and then sign up again later.

My gym doesn't even turn on aircon, had to ask them twice and then was told it's due for service.

Was going to Revo but they are just too busy now, also quality of the equipment has gone a bit shit (even their mirrors are like funhouse mirrors wtf). What's a good alternative to Revo (in Perth), similar price point? I use power rack a lot so need somewhere with lots of those.

    • xofit is similarly priced if you sign up at their new locations

      • Cheers, looks like nothing central unfortunately. Good to know if case they open a new one up near me though

  • I was with them few years ago until they increased from $10 to $18.

Do Anytime gyms have lunk alarms? I prefer working out in a safe space

    • No, but IMO as a male I would deem it a safe space for all - I see a really diverse crowd going through my local, young and old, people who know what they're doing on the racks and people just starting out. Good share of broccoli heads who keep to themselves

Should say there are duress alarms throughout the place, in bathrooms and lanyard ones you can carry with you.

      obvious troll is obvious.

Plenty of meathead gyms around for those that haven't fully evolved. go shoot your roids there.

  • Good deal - but do they verify where you got the code?

  • +1

Having gone though the sign up process to payment page, I can't see a way to avoid the $79 key fob charge as I already have one from previous membership. If anyone knows of a way to sign up with this price avoiding the $79 key fob charge I would appreciate the insight :)

    • +2

Does the final stages of the sign up process suggest it's a yearly charge or year contract?

  • That’s pretty cheap as just now the lady told corporate membership is $21.95
But they offered 4 weeks free and no joining fee

  • Does gym membership include Pilate classes?

    • Depends on the gym. Some have daily classes but every AF gyms are different offerings of classes, some have no classes.

  • I'm already paying this

"How are these $100 Nike shoes a deal? I can get sneakers at my local Target for $10."

No deal - a true OzBargainer uses the public outdoor gym down at the park.

  • Are you locked in for 12 months?

    • yes

      • -1

Not sure I am onboard with the way this deal is worded then. I get the Gym is trying to be sneaky, but we could be upfront on OzB. The real cost / minimum cost is $788 / year.

        • +1

          It's actually $867 minimum:

          $79.95 Access fob

        • If someone confirms that's it's actually a year contract or a yearly charge I will update the deal. I haven't gone that far to confirm so can't see what the particulars are.

  • +1

Not a fan of AnytimeFitness. Joined for $17/week and they increased it to $27/month after the first year. I go to cancel (You still have to pay for an additional 30 days) and they double charged me and refused to resolve until I pushed it further.

Their facilities were really nothing special - at least at my local.

    • +4

I go to cancel (You still have to pay for an additional 30 days) and they double charged me

Lol, I love how all gyms are dodgy af when it comes to cancellations

      • Plus fitness is good. No lock in contract.

        • Have you tried quitting and had a painless exit?

I say that just because a lot of them say no lock in contract but there are other things they do to make it challenging to cancel,

    • +8

$17/wk to $27/mo sounds like you got a great deal

    • $17/week is about $68/month so $27/month is actually a pretty decent deal.

    • Mine started at $27 per fortnight then got jacked to $37. To their credit it was easy to cancel.

  • Recently switched from Anytime to Fitness First, only because I get 50% off FF rate from AIA Vitality (which then works out to be slightly cheaper than AF but much bigger, more equipment and group classes). But might just be my local FF, no one reracks the weights even the trainers! So annoying.

  • work gym franchise. don't give your money to these douches

  • Aintree Vic 3336 is not on the list

  • Joined anytime 3 months ago, paying $24.95/week and paid $79 for the fob when I joined.
Anything I can do right now?

    • If your gym is on the list, quit and then rejoin using the above? There shouldn't be a lock-in contract at all. Just a few slightly awkward phone calls/emails.

  • Towards the end of last year a number of the franchises jacked up their prices to about $99/month with very minimal communication.

A LOT of people were pissed and I saw the same folks trickling into our new gym. I have a feeling this "discount" reflects the impact that price hike had to their exodus of members.

$15/week is a bit pretty pricey. The one near our place charges something around $26/month. The snap fitness near us charges ~$20/month and that includes group classes (yoga, strength conditioning, ABT, etc) and it's twice the size of the Anytime.

    • Oh, really? I've been paying $21/week at Snap Fitness that's in Melbourne CBD.

  • Worst mob to deal with. Avoid

  • +2

A while ago, the owner of the Cranbourne and Berwick South was a giant creep to my friend who was an employee. Ugly work culture there.

  • Standard charge is $17.95/week at my local… but second and subsequent years are $600 ($11.50/week).

I'd feel i'd be able to negotiate a deal similar to the OP, but i wonder if it'd be possible to negotiate $600 for the first year instead….

    • I’ve never heard of this decreased fees in the second year? 11.50/wk is incredibly good price especially if it’sa Metro location.

      • Suburban Adelaide.

        The full price list was $795 + $99 +$99 first year/joining/fob (or $17.95/week for 12months +$99+$99, or $19.95/week no term, +$99+$99)

Im sure one of the $99 would be easy to waive.

        Then $600 each subsequent year.

  • This is a good price, I was paying $30/m prior to COVID due to a foundation membership and referring people but they raised the minimum price over COVID at my local and am now paying $60 👎

iPhone users can use their phone to enter now rather than a key fob because of the Apple/AF partnership in the US. You can only use one or the other though, you’ll need a key fob if you’re planning on using gyms overseas. You might be able to avoid the key fob fee.

    • Ooh this is interesting how to set it up? And can you easily switch back to the Fob when you go on holidays?

      • Just download the AF app from the App Store (the one called AF App, not Anytime Fitness), verify your membership and follow the prompts. The app will ask you if you want to use your phone to access the gym. I'm not sure of the process for swapping between phone and key fob access, you may need to check with your gym. I assume staff will be able to do it for you.

Edit: Oof. Reading the most recent comments on the app they're unable to reactive your old key fob and you have to buy a new one for ~$80 if you want key fob access. That's ridiculous.

        • Yikes. Sounded good for a minute there would be good to have AF access via phone. Bit ridiculous that adding it to your phone deactivates the fob.

          Edit:
          What if I’m travelling overseas?

If you’re travelling overseas – no problem. Soon the AF Access Pass will provide access to Anytime Fitness clubs worldwide. In the meantime, contact your club and they can provide you with a temporary pass for use overseas.

If they actually provide the pass free it wouldn’t be too bad but is another thing to remember to organise

  • Signed up to Derrimut during their last promotion, $292/year.

  • +2

I would avoid anytime fitness. Like others, had a 50%+ increase in fees with no communication and had to cancel in writing with 30 days notice. Not enough racks in their gyms either.
    Terrible gyms

  • I was a member of Anytime when I got an awesome deal from AIA Vitality.

But it was very poor in regard to facilities/classes compared to Goodlife (in WA).

Recently noticed I get 25% off Goodlife with Medibank, which brings Platinum to $17.xx for 18 months and $19.xx for 12 months FWIW.

  • This ain’t a deal, signed up to them before, never again. There are cheaper deals out there from different gyms such as Derrimut. Plus, this one is a locked in membership, so consider that before subscribing to it.

    • nsw doesnt have derimut unfortunately

  • Any better deal for vanlifers who mainly use it for showers and appreciate the Australia wide network?

I've been going to Anytime Fitness for many years and its pretty much common knowledge, after I believe 30 days the gym you regularly visit the most is the gym you need to deal with when it comes to membership freezes, cancellations etc.

That's always been part of the Anytime Fitness contract. Now OP can't help the situation they are in, but people need to take a little more responsibility and read the terms and conditions PROPERLY.

Anytime Fitness always gets a bad rap for hiking fees, withdrawing money etc., but for me it has been the most consistent gym I've used.

    • +1

Agreed. Read the terms before signing or don't complain.

  • Wait what mine just went up from 13.95 to 14.95 and I was kinda annoyed at that but y’all out here paying $15+, glad I didn’t complain 👀. But honestly would happily pay more for a gym with better equipment range - seems that the only gyms with really good equipment range are mega gyms that are cheap and over crowded.

  • I can't seem to find the Baulkham Hills AF in the list but can see the Castle Hill. Can I signup for the Castle Hill location and use the local gym or is it that the Fob only works for the Castle Hill location?

    • +1

Normally you can on my use home gym for first month. Then access to other gyms after that (should auto activate, but if it doesn’t ask the gym to activate for other locations). However if you regularly go to a different gym it will become your new home gym - usually this means you pay whatever the rate is for that gym no idea how it would work in the case of this gym.

  • Anyway to pay from health insurance

    • -1

Need to have health management option in extras.

Fill in the decleration of condition form by GP (over or under BMI) and ask GP to recommend on form gym membership.

Havent paid for my gym membership in last 2 years

      • Which insurance provider are you with?
So get a form from GP and ask them to recommend gym membership
Then claim the monthly repayments on insurance (they reimburse you?)

        Thanks in advance!

        • -1

You download the form from PHI website.
Could be called decleration of condition OR Health management form etc.. that your GP needs to fill and sign

Then claim the monthly repayments on insurance (they reimburse you?)

          Claim up to the limit

  • I was a member for a couple of years. If you start going to a different location that is not your home gym, they will transfer you to the new location, which may involve a big jump to the weekly charge. That is the biggest downside to Anytime and the main reason I cancelled. At one location you could be paying $16 per week and another location nearby you could be paying $22 per week.

  • Anyone know if anytime fitness has student price or nah

    • I would like to know this too. My son just started going to the gym and the sales consultant didn't mention anything and I didn't ask either. He is paying $22 per week. It's pretty expensive for under 18 students I reckon.

  • Will save me $400 a year as was paying $23 a week before casual.

    Hi,

Not able to sign up online as when i am trying to select location i am navigated to enquiry form instead sign up.

can you please provide the sign up link.

  • Same problem for others as well

  • I wish more gyms simply provided per visitation prices. I'll never ever subscribe to a gym because I don't need personal trainers and only need to go once a week, so a subscription is not worth it for me. The only gyms I've ever paid for are gyms that allow me to pay per visit. Unfortunately there is not one in my local area, as all require membership commitments.

Gyms are losing my business by not providing this option.

    • +1

They make too much off subscriptions that barely turn up to switch this off

  • does the pricing change if I sign up to a 'home' gym with the corporate rate, then I my home gym changes that is not part of this promotion?

  • +1

Avoid anytime fitness, yes they may sign you up at this price but in my experience they won't honor it. Expect them to keep jacking up the price.

  • None of the gyms on the list are nearby for me. So, is this deal only valid for the participating gyms that are part of it, or can you enter to any Anytime Fitness with your fob?

  • +1

    Sad :(
Signed up, didn’t care about the cost of the tag cause it was just a walk up the road. They wouldn’t let me have it at the price of 15.60 cause I couldn’t show proof I was an employee of their gold and silver partners. So they cancelled my account without hesitation.

So back to club lime I go

    • Wow. I would have thought they would run with it since some money is better than none. Ah well.

  • +1

They’re asking for a supporting document to verify the membership? What did you guys present

  • So, ive tried using this code, and it doesnt require any id or anything to show that u work at these businesses. am i still able to use this, and will i be pulled up for not actually being part of these companies?

  • Has anyone managed to sign up with this code? Did they ask for any proof?

    • All last comments state they likely will. I would say it's up to the individual owner of the club.

  • Does anyone know how you will receive your 24/7 access key? Do they usually ship it to you or do you have to go and get it from the gym?

    • They require you to go into the gym you signed up to. After that, you can register for a phone-based access key via the AF App.

  • good deal
