Anyone know how to get an email that works with the edu store?

    • +16

      Educate yourself

      Name checks out

    • +2

      Be a uni student.

  • -7

    So 1759 - 20% = $1407 *20% off
    1407 - 350 = $1057 *$350 vouchers
    1057 - 250 = $807 *Trade Bonus
    807 - trade value = upgrade cost?

Is that right? Can't be surely? It's like $50 to upgrade from s23 ultra.

    • +1

      from where? what vouchers?? info?

    • +4

      $1759 is the 20% off

      • +1

        Ah ok.

      • Gotcha seemed too good haha

  • Can anybody see the price of 1tb galaxy s24 ultra please?

    • +2

2799 retail, 2239 EPP/GOV/EDU before trades and discounts

      • Thanks so much!

  • Does anyone know what will be the invoice date for this sort of preorder? Is it dated to the shipping day, or when the preorder is put in? Thinking to time it to the next travel for TRS

    • +1

It will be the order date

    • +3

Tax invoice date should always be shipment date. This is applicable for all big entities.

  • Other than "AI EVERYTHING!" any real upgrades from S23 ultra? Camera seems like a downgrade (love my 10x zoom).

    • +6

if you count the flat screen as an upgrade :p

      • +5

Yes. Flat screen is an upgrade. I dropped my phone from about 40cm height and it hit the part where it starts to curve and screen cracked. Am forever paranoid about it happening again. Losing 10x zoom is a major bummer.

        • +1

I watched first impression on YT from MKBHD and the 5x camera is an addition and 10x zoom still there so I don't think it's a downgrade

          • @SwaTTer: Its the 10x zoom camera. Now its 5x and 10x is digital which is a downgrade

            • +2

@OZcheepsk8: Except early shots from sammobile show the 10x digital zoom using the 50mp 5x lens with bigger aperture actually looking just as good, so we'll have to see. I was disappointed at first too!

            • +1

@OZcheepsk8: 5x zoom, but 4x pixel count, so should theoretically yield same resolution as previous 10x when cropped.

          • @SwaTTer: yeah, saw that! Also means you gain 6-9x (digital) zooms with reasonable resolution.

    • Does 7 years of software update count?

      • It's nice but I cant imagine still having the phone in 7 years. If I haven't killed it in 3 years I'd probably treat myself to an upgrade anyhow.

      • Is it for real? Are they now providing 7 years of software update?

        • Yes, they just match up with Pixel phone, it's on the keynote.

    • Apparently AI features will be coming to the S23 and flip 5 and gold 5 in the future.

      • All links back to Google Gemini, seems likely with an update

    • +1

And that AI Galaxys is basically rehashed google happening in cloud. I kind was suspecting that since a lot of the so called AI looked exactly like Pixel but worse in some cases aka recorder transcript which essentially they are doing themselves.

Edu/EPP store seems to be the cheapest at the moment, compared to last year where gen store had a better deal

    24 Ultra 512GB 1919.2 + Watch 6 40 373.32 - Trade in($165) - 250 - 150 - 200 = 1692.52

  • Is the galaxyai code not working for anyone else? I get an alert that $200 worth it stuff needs to be added to the order beforehand but it doesn't apply either way.

    • +2

Add a min of $350 as there is an existing 150 discount

      • That worked! Thank you!

  • What would be the net price for Ultra 520GB after all the hoops ~$935?

    • Would buy it at that price.

      • I would too but I don't think that is the case. I just tried and found that the $350 can only go towards phone accessories and not the phone itself.

  • My flip 4 is pretty scratched up.
Definitely not 'free from scratches and cosmetic defects'.

Anyone traded in a working fine but slightly dinged up phone direct @ Samsung?
If so how much $ did you get removed from original trade in offer due to condition?

  • Hey guys.
I have an s23u which i broke the screen and had repaired by an authorised Samsung repairer in Melbourne.
I would like to upgrade too the s24u and take advantage of the trade-in bonuses. Will the fact that my screen was replaced affect my eligibility?
    Thanks in advance.

    • +2

      wont affect

    • Theres a question that asks if the phone has non genuine parts.

Assuming it is an authorised repairer, then they should be using genuine parts.

Id say no, it wont affect

The JB trade-in values are better. If you don't value the Care+ and accessories deal it might be the way forward. E.g I can get $1300 for my mint Z fold5 512GB whereas Samsung is only offering $960. Has anyone done the trade in in-store at JB before? I don't really want to use Asurion and have the trade-in chage applied whilst they wait for my device.

    • -6

      Thank you!

I originally bought the S23 Ultra for $600ish of samsung edu..trading it in at JB is $800.

The total for s24+ is $250.

I did not use the s23 ultra at all..the size wasnt right for me.

      Cheers!

If you have any interest in getting accessories, more storage or other devices, EPP isn't for you. This is probably turns out to be lowest dollar cost for buying the phone itself outright, but almost any other offer right now is better value, e.g.

Samsung non-EPP/EDU: double storage, same trade-in bonus, 1 year Care+, free accessories
Major telcos: free accessories, free other devices (Telstra: Tablet, Optus: Watch/Buds)
Retail: trade-in bonus, gift cards, etc.

    • +1

Not true, EDU/EPP is turning out to be the best option even with double storage and accessories are cheaper which increases the net discount.
      24 Ultra 512GB 1919.2 + Watch 6 40 373.32 - Trade in($165) - 250 - 150 - 200 = 1692.52
      + Free S Care+

      • -1

Yeah OK that's fair. they way Samsung shows prices/discounts on their website is a bit confusing (i.e. it's not obvious until you actually do the math). The comment still stands wrt the bonus offers from telco/retail though.

    • Am I missing something, only the EPP is offering 20% off? The other retailers there is no discount?

      • Yeah but they're throwing in a LOT of bonus accessories. The telcos are doing $1k worth of other Samsung devices, probably to try and compete with the Retailers who usually do high value bonus gift cards or $0 device deals.

        • There was a $0 upfront instore HN deal posted earlier, and it has been unpublished by OP. Anyone have info if this is real or not? Or any other upfront with cancellation payout? Normally it's optus.

Edit: just called my local HN and they do in fact have a $0 upfront starting from 69/mo. Preorder

      • Doesn't work for me

        • Try with the same combination of accessories they originally had and then remove what the user said

Galaxy AI features will be provided free of charge until the end of 2025 on supported Samsung Galaxy devices.

a year of samsung care is such a shitty additional, something useful like buds would be much better

    • Gives me the confidence to carry phone without a case

      • But Samsung care don't come over scratch or chip right?

        • +1

          It's no questions asked replacement,

          • @abs898: Really? So if you just decide to swap brand new one after 11month , that's OK too?

            • +1

@asianbargain: They give you a refurbished phone though, which is brand new looking

  • +1

Geez, been wrestling with this thing trying to get a base S24 without the education store redirecting me back to the homepage.

    S24U works fine though.

  • I got two voucher $200 which was sent my Samsung recently not sure if you can use them here.

  • anyone else having trouble adding a trade in code? It keeps saying invalid.

    • Same, it says its invaild. Go figure

    • Make sure you type it in caps

      • +17

ANYONE ELSE HAVING TROUBLE ADDING A TRADE IN CODE? IT KEEPS SAYING INVALID.

jokes aside, i did type in caps. did your code go through?

        • You have to turn off find my phone then it works

    • okay, i figured i can't use the trade-in app anymore (only in store for that).

did the same on the website, and got through.

      • @fidelio how did you put trade-in ID ? mine keeps saying invalid either on the app or website

        • +1

Don't use the trade in app, go thru the website or shop app

  • Anyone else have issues when you press the 'yes' to trade in, it just takes you back to the main screen (Government store).
    Tried on two devices, …

    • For that someone above said press no and then do the trade in at the checkout.

I'm trying to get a S24 base - it redirects me the moment I scroll down

    • +2

Try this: press No on the option selection page, then proceed to add accessories (should add up to $350 worth of accessories), then at checkout page (same page to add promo codes), select add trade-in

      • ok thanks both will try that.

      • edit: should add more than $350 to make the code GALAXYAI works

  • +2

This is anecdata so take it for whatever you think it's worth - but Asurion are a massive pain in the ballbag to deal with. I'm not saying don't trade in through Samsung but please take care to document very well the condition of your device and how you package it.

  • anyone know if the coupon code works for 2 devices? or should buy it twice in 2 transactions?

  • I added 150$ worth of accessories to my cart and when I go to checkout it isn't being taken off the price and isn't showing up as free???

    • They will take 150 off your phone

      • No they don't, I figured it out. You have to add at least 150$ worth for the coupon to apply, I had like 148$ worth in my cart

  • +4

Before you send your device to Asurion, make sure you take pics with date stamp of all sides of your phone as well as video, with screen off and on. I take the video with today's news showing on my monitor. Also take a pic of the device in the box and the shipping box. Also take a pic with the parcel on the post office counter! You will need every possible backup when dealing with Asurion. And yes I've had to use said pics in previous dealing with Asurion.

  • So if i do the $250 bonus trade-in, i can go to the megathread and request another code for an extra $200? Making the total bonus trade in fo be $450?

    • Correct

  • Can you use Samsung Care+ to upgrade to s24 Ultra? Thats why I thought I took up the option last year when buying the S23 Ultra

    • +2

No they give you the same model as you have now

  • +1

Okay, so I saw people trade-in deal last year for the Samsung 23/+ and Ultra. The trade-in is the only thing you get charged for, but I forgot what it is. You don't need to send it; just make it $0. You still get the trade-in bonus.
