        Agree, for the Syd-MEL return, the status point is better than double, paid out at 1.5x if traveling on Choice (typically you get 15 x 2 status credit for the rtn trip)

    6 x by march is rough but i guess if you travel for work you would cash in quickly.

      I'll have to do two work trips before the end of March that I haven't booked yet and I was thinking about a personal trip as well, so getting the 6+ should be easy for me.
      What I do like about this is that there's no pressure to book right now. The previous double status credit offers usually only gave you a week or so to book in, where this one the booking and flying period are the same.

        Incorrect. You have to book during the promotion window which started today.

        +Velocity Status Credits offer: Promotion is available between 12:01am AEST 29 January 2024 to 11:59pm AEST 28 March 2024 (inclusive) (Promotion Period).

        If you booked flights today and then activated the offer tomorrow, and fly before 28 March 2024 - you’re good.
        If you booked flights last week or last year activated now and flew before 28 March 2024 then you’re not eligible.

      Why would they investigate? Status credits bonus only benefits small percentage of flyer. The real benefits for everyone is to make all fare cheaper.

    I am well off silver and gold (travel hasn't recovered to pre-COVID levels), so this deal won't do much for me personally. But I am sure this might help get others to the target :)

      Just get the HSBC Star Alliance credit card. Works the same and gives you access to Virgin lounge.

          First year you get 12 months gold status. Second year you need to spend 60k a year on credit card to get another 12 months of gold. There’s no such thing as few visit or passes with gold status . You get unlimited for you and one guest on star alliance lounge when flying star alliance.

      Qantas would count seperate segments as seperate flights, not sure about Virgin but suspect it might be the same.

      Flight number, eg perth to sydney with one number VAXXX is one flight, Perth to Sydney via Melbourne with 2 different numbers are two flights. That's how status run apllies anyway.

      Well, you still would've had to have booked during the promotion period in the first place, which only started today. So that doesn't help most people with existing bookings.

      Generally speaking as long as its ticketed with Virgin Australia ticket stock within the promotional period its fine.
      For Qantas Double Status Credits, I'll book all my planned yearly corporate travel through our provider and I have had zero issues

    Interesting T&Cs…
    An Eligible Flight is:
    A. a one-way domestic or short haul international flight marketed and operated by Virgin Australia, booked through virginaustralia.com the Virgin Australia Business Flyer booking portal or via the member’s nominated Travel Management Company

    Hard to tell if a two-sector flight (i.e. CBR-MEL-ADL) counts as two flights as it would during a double status promo (as you earn separate status on each sector).
    Also seems you have to book through VA or a nominated TMC?
    This is an odd one.

    Offer from the app: Add a valid ABN (connected to a business acc) and you get an extra 8500 velocity points. Not valid for lite fares though. Not sure if anyone has already posted that as a deal.

    1. You need to book the flights direct with Virgin Australia, Virgin Australia Business or a recognised Corporate Travel provider only. If you book another way (via 3rd party) like Flight Centre, trip.com, Expedia, etc. then you are not eligible for this promotion.

    2. You CAN activate this offer AFTER booking so long as you booked the flight today (or later). If you booked the flight before today (29/1) then you are not eligible for this offer. If it’s a corporate booking, it should be easy enough to cancel and rebook.

        Courtesy call from VFF today after I called earlier this week and was told again have to wait 4 weeks after 30.3.24 afterthey sent me a feedback email. Seems they are doing it in batches and should have by Monday Agent said will call me Monday, he can see x3 flights and all eligible for this bonus
