Specs don't match title. Wondering if worth taking the risk? Thanks for posting the deal.

    • Another N95 I got from another place did the same thing (Windows 10 in the specs, W11 in the title), and I received a W11 one. Would be worth it, and you could argue about it if they didn't give you 11.

I thought it was free to upgrade from W10 to W11 anyway?

Having got one for the olds, it is pretty good. It has a bit of a fan you can hear when it's ramping up.

      • +1

It's not just Win10 v Win11. The specs also say 256gb HDD and 8GB RAM. The title says 512GB and 16GB.

        • Considering it also says it has eSATA, I wouldn't even bother looking at the specs. They often seem wrong on these mini PCs.

I brought this exact same model and link 3 weeks ago, it comes as the title says, 16gig of Ram and 512 ssd and Win 11 Pro.

      • +5

        Where did you bring it?

        • +4

          Yeah yeah.

  • My 10yo el-cheapo NAS has bitten the dust, wondering if a NUC can be used to build one… I dont need much storage, don't need RAID as I keep an offline copy. Thoughts?

Happy to be guided to any other threads where this has been brought up.

Then why not just connect an external hard drive to the router (USB 3.0 port), smb DLNA share is mostly supported

      • Ah, never stopped to think of that! I upgraded router to Asus Tuf-AX3000 last year, haven't tapped into all the features yet. Will look into this, thankyou!

      I'd go the refurbed PC
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/828646

internal HDD are more reliable then external USB ones.

do you use freenas or a windows based setup ? i like having window based ones as you can chuck other stuff on there like sabnzdb, sonarr, etc

      • +1

If you use Truenas/Unraid you can also use other services like SABNZB/Sonarr/*arr using Docker/Proxmox too. It's pretty easy to do with no experience and there are a load of Youtube vids if you want step by step.

I would recommend using a purpose-built NAS (Unraid/Truenas) over Windows for both maintainability, stability and resource footprint. Each to their own though.

        • I've got a qnap and I hate dockers. updating containers is a PITA. it's nice just going into the windows/Linux programs and updating directly from the software. rather then having to reinstall.

          • @M00Cow: I used to be Windows > *nix systems with Docker but took some time and got to understand my issues now I'm a hardened convert. Once I learned that you need to separate the configs and use volumes correctly it all changed. This is a very general statement, but if updating is a PITA, there are probably some setup changes you could make to fix this. Updating a docker image should be as simple as clicking update (if you are using the gui) with no interaction needed.

      • Good note on internal HDD's… sounds like I need to weigh up this vs taker312's suggestion of using router.

My use case is fairly simple, streaming files to TV and basic storage of files that are accessible on LAN.

  • Love the VGA port at the side…

    • they claim it can do 3x 4K (HDMI x2 and VGA) which seems like a stretch given VGA doesnt go that high.

I brought from this exact link about 3 weeks ago, it comes with 16gig of ram 512 hdd and Windows Pro 11. Im running Debian on it atm as a mini server. Good device, very quiet.

Even though it says 8 and 256 below, the title is correct it comes with what it says.

    • What the price the same? It seems like an excellent price point for the specs.

      • Price at the time was 229

    • +2

Where did you bring it to?

      • My house

  • thats crazy cheap!

  • thanks @ldd-mn I grabbed one. Been following the deals for a while now, but the price /coupon/window have been hard to catch. Thanks for the post

  • When does this end?

    • That I'm not sure about, but I'll mark it OOS once it is

Any idea why it only support 2tb when it has a 2.5inch drive and a m2 slot?

    • Also wondering this, does the chipset only support maximum 2TB drives?

      • Consensus seems to be they all say 2TB maximum based on previous M2 4TB storage that was too fat (double sided? I'm not a techy person), but lots of people find they can use 4TB drives with no issue. I did a deep dive a bit a while ago… would love to give you a link, but… don't have one - the info is out there.

Pretty average. The better N100 AK2 has been $239 quite a few times this week.

  • "Supports HD (4096 x 2160), 4K@60GHz"

    Imagine 60GHz refresh rate.

  • The 10% off coupon has now expired … only the $70 off is available.

    • Cheers, updated

    KAMRUI AK2 Plus Mini PC N100, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 500GB SSD

    $229.99 after $160 coupon

  • Note that it won’t be delivered until 12 Feb

    • Mine arrives tomorrow. (Perth)

      • Strange. I made an order and it says delivers on 12 Feb

        • Maybe stock at perth depo. Perhaps they got a new shipment coming in. No idea, not complaining though. Perfect for my little project to build an automatic lego sorter with rpi and this.

  • Is this new?
Also found this one which looks good too
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Alder-Lake-N95-TRIGKEY-Desktop-Com…

  • Can anyone with a cheap N95 or N100 confirm if you can install a 4TB drive?
The N95 listings say "Maximum 2TB" but does that only mean the m2 maximum and not the 2.5" SSD max?
    Thanks

  • Too expensive.

  • I think I got this sucker for $99 a few months back

    • Wasn’t that the 8GB/256GB model though?

Got mine today. As described in title.
