    I have a 9020 i7-4790 with a GTX-1650 graphics card.

    Not worth upgrading, is it?

    • +5

Your GPU probably runs rings vs this and this has no way to upgrade anything. If you game you are better off with what you have, if you do not game, it would be an upgrade in any metric (performance, heat generation, noise, space).

Kinda. There are games that are cpu dependent. Minecraft and simulation games comes to mind.

But honestly, I would rather just get a brand new system at this price. Yes, it's double the price, but more than double the performance for a rx6600 system.

    • What you've got there is the ultimate ozbargain ghetto gaming rig. That'll keep on playing Rocket League and Fortnite for a few more years, no problems.

If you feel the need to upgrade, I'd expect a new wave of 8th Gen 7060 boxes to hit the market monthly from here on in, so rip out your GPU, sell the PC for about $80 and buy the 8th Gen Optiplex for around the $250 mark.

Would need to upgrade the power supply again though to run the 1650…

      • Jeez…..if thats the ghetto rig wtf is the 750ti build i have lol

        • That's not the 'ultimate' ghetto rig, it's the 'best GPU fifty bucks can buy' ghetto rig, and I ran the same one for a couple of years quite happily.

        • It is faster than my GT1030 for a start :-) ( But probably does not fit in a SFF Optiplex.)

    • nope your pc is better than this crappy one.

My proxmox wants this but wallet doesn’t.

If this helps you feel better, 9th gen i7 lost hyperthreading to the i9 series so this is 8C/8T only.

  • How does a 65W TDP chip go in a small case like this?
I notice the peak power of this chip is a lot more, and 65W is just the cooling requirement.

    • +1

      It's probably a typo, meant to be a 9700T

      • Hi it is i7-9700 with copper heatsink.

      • The 'T' version is underclocked at 2.0GHz. I'm surprised if they have the 3.0GHz versdion in a tiny case. Not much point if it cannot be kept cool.
I expect the fan will be extremely loud if it can do 65W, otherwise will throttle.

Given it's a refurb, it feels expensive compared to some of the current mini PCs available.

    • i5s are a lot cheaper with the 22% off code on ebay…

  • @Metrocom, do you have any laptops with 32\64GB RAM on special atm?

  • 8th gen with 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD for sub $200 please

Bad price for a terrible computer.

    • -1

Yes, you can get a (HP ProDesk G6 i7-10700T / 16 GB / 512NVMe) for the same price

      • @spriggan43
        Wait where?

        • Ebay, do a search for 10700t

        • Did you get yourself one :)

  • Does the monitor come with any kind of warranty?

    Thanks

“…Do let us know if any issues with our website…”

    It’s not working for me.

    • Site working better now, thanks.

That monitor actually looks like a sweet deal.
