  • The first hyperlink says 7800X3D instead of 7500F on the OzB post fyi

    • Thank you! Oopsie in the morning haha.

  • +1

Good price on the 7800X3D combo.

  • -1

RTX 4080 SUPER the same speed as the standard RTX 4080 and has a lower RRP than the 4080. Unit price is too high, should be lower.. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/828658

    • +1

That's why we've priced it lower than standard RTX 4080 systems previously. RTX 4080 SUPER has 5% more CUDA cores and a slightly higher clock speed :).

        • +8

That's just the lowest SRP on the market right now - the $1869, it's not decided by me, my friend. I am going off what is the lowest price available on the market. I'm not understanding what the issue is, could you please clarify?

Link you sent is also out of stock now, I'd imagine they lost a lot of money selling it at the price. It's well below cost haha.

    • Only 4% faster in 4K. Gonna hold out.

      • Excuse me but that’s 4-5 more frames @ 120 and I’ll notice it

    • 4080s
      1000+50 x1.52 x1.10

$1755 rrp for australia, or according to retailers $1880.

        • Well thats either a lie or wholesalers are price gouging.

            • @vovka: $1755 is the rrp of the base model.

So if you rry and tell me wholesalers are charging $1700 and then go on to talk about may or umart when you're clearly not aware they are the same company, how ican i take you seriously.

    • +3

mate - ppl on ozbargain are all nvidia fan boys - when you tell them 4080 super should be $200 USD cheaper they neg you for some reason
cant ppl read, its an official Nvidia apology for crappy 4080 release pricing, and as we know 4080 was as low as $1500 AUD so its only normal we will get 4080s at this price at some point.
sure its a fresh release so they expect you should pay the RRP/rip off price - let them neg us for speaking the truth, guess they are all butt hurt they paid full RRP and some extra

      • +4

All GPU prices are ridiculous and should be cheaper, period.

Both Nvidia and AMD have been price-gouging the sh*t out of consumers since 2020 and haven't looked back.

        • +1

well 3080 was well priced when it came out but then ppl were stupid enough to pay double and Nvidia saw that, now they set priced accordingly

  • The use of Gen 3 drives here is criminal, good deals otherwise

    • +4

Have to do it brother, SSD prices are through the roof right now - upgrade to ADATA Legend 800 Gen4 is extremely fair in price. NVME pricing is killing me right now. It's the only way to make it a good deal OzBargain style.

Check out this article from end of last year - https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/ssds/ssd-prices-p…

      • +1

That's just painful, understand your position though. Keep up the good work Lawrence, you guys are much appreciated here <3

  • Can we upgrade to faster SSD?

    • Yes, plenty of options are available in the Support > SSD section - https://imgur.com/a/AVLDZ3m

      • Ahhh… that's where to do it :)

Strange.. added the upgrade to 2tb faster SSD for $110 which added $223 at checkout…
Now the SSD option is $180 extra…

And now it's $180 difference at checkout… lol prices keep changing as i type..

        • +1

That's strange, could you message me on our live chat so I can see what's wrong? Prices advertised should not change when you get to checkout. It will show the price before adding it to the cart. I think it may be because you have multiple items in your cart and it messes with the discount code as it only applies to one system at a time in your cart.

SSD options may be $180 in difference now as you're looking at secondary SSD I think, primary SSD upgrades will be less as the base model already has the 1TB Gigabyte NVME.

          • @Nebula PC: No big deal.. checking for a friend

No it was definitely swapping the primary SSD ;)

            • @Krondorf: Let me know if the prices are still not correct, I've checked and tested a few SSDs and all seem to be working fine.

  • Any old 4080 deal?

    • Negative, they are end of life now. Seems like all retailers have flushed most their stock.

    • Some wholesalers like Ingram Micro still have hundreds of 4080 in stock selling those for $2200+. Looks like they aren't going cheaper soon.

  • +2

Not much of an increase from 4080 it's kind of just Nvidia pressing the reset button on RRP. If you've waited this long and can wait another year probably worth waiting for 5xxxx series cards if it's anything like this gen the 5070 will probably compete with this.

    • +1

its not a reset - its an admission they priced them too high and lowered the price but Australia be Australia and we increase the price?
watch it got to standard $1500 pricing soon if not lower

      • Hm it's a bit hopeful considering 4080 which should be getting clear has only just hit $1500 and that was one card for a limited time. Hopefully it's true but idk how soon it'll be, few months at least.

        • you can get 7900 xtx for $1300 now and its about 5 % faster then 4080 - no RT obv, price will depend on demand and if ppl are dumb enough to pay $1700 +

          • @botchie: 7900xtx is $1400 and trades blows with the 4080 in most games at 4k. 4080 recently $1500 so for $100 more you get RT + Nvidia performance in certain gpu accelerated software. For an extra $100 4080 definitely is the obvious choice for me. Hopefully no one is paying that price but recently when the 4080 dropped to $1599 that stock still cleared at that price so $1700 for the 4080s on release is fairly reasonable based on those prices. Normally i'd say AMD is always best bang for buck but this gen and especially atm with nvidia price drops its a much harder choice.

          • @botchie: I'll say all these cards are still very overpriced though and need a further 10-15% drop.

            • @lookingforadeal7: for $100 yes but the price difference now is $400 :)
I recon if we waited this long we can wait for next gen, this gen hasnt been as good as last one so skipping it is not a big deal
unless you game at 4k then 4090 is decent but pricey
game at 2k at 144hz and you will be fine with a 3080 even

              • +1

@botchie: Yeah i'm in no rush at all, eventually i want to get an LG C3 42 inch to use as for gaming (i play with controller for all single player games) and play on that so I think i'll have to wait for next gen to be able to play 4k anyway. I'm happy with 80fps~ and optimise my settings to hit this and still seems like 4080/7900xtx would be a capable card. I'll be forced to pay the Nvidia tax though as i want to run stable diffusion locally and mess around with AI a bit more.

  • Upgrading to proper amd expo ram shouldnt be the entire rrp cost of said ram

    • That's where the money is made. Something like RAM is easy to replace yourself compared to other components.

      • I understand there should be a premium for them doing a custom change, but its just price gouging as the base spec ram will throttle these sytems.

Yeah I could easily install it myself but then I gotta flog some garbage ram on fb marketplace to someone who doesn't know better

    • +1

All RAM is compatible with AMD EXPO, are you referring to the G.Skill option? This one isn't mass stocked and we don't get fantastic pricing on it. The lowest price I could find for the CL30 kit is $199, correct me if I'm wrong. Please don't mistake this for another kit, there are out there with different timings and speeds that are much lower in cost.

It's priced with our cost difference as we bulk buy the base models to make this deal possible, the price difference usually for higher-end upgrades and the base component will typically be more for this reason.

  • Hi Nebula PC, any Intel based deals? Cheers :)

    • +3

There will not be as we don't get good pricing with Intel, it won't be OzBargain worthy. AMD has a much better price to performance and the X3D CPUs trump Intel CPUs in gaming.

At the end of the day CPU brand doesn't matter, lots of resources on this online :). May I ask what is the reason you want an Intel CPU?

      • +1

        Hi Nebula team,

I can't speak on behalf of peterzz, but in my scenario I need a CPU that will excel at being both a workstation and a gaming PC.

With AMD CPUs, the X3D models definitely make for a fantastic gaming CPU with the extra cache but the slower per core processing speed hinders my day to day developer tasks (code compilation, hosting VMs, etc). If I switch to a 7950x or even 7800x then productivity performance increases but gaming performance decreases.

An Intel i7 13/14gen (as an example) on the other hand seems to excel at handling both gaming and workstation needs for me due to the combination of clock speeds and P&E core distribution.

Stats from Chromium Code Compiling benchmarks (few years old but you get the gist): https://pcbuildinglab.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/code-co…

TL;DR: A similar build to OP using an Intel instead of an AMD CPU will excel at Gaming AND Productivity.

        • Ah it's really a tough gig with pricing, have to compromise on a bit of gaming performance for the better value on AMD CPUs at this stage unfortunately.

          • @Nebula PC: I completely understand, love the work you guys do and by no means am I bashing on the promo, it's a great build!

In all honesty, my case is not uncommon, but definitely not your main target audience so I get that.

Anyone who is in my situation wouldn't be here looking for a Bargain build anyways, we'd buy what we need and claim it on work :)

            Keep up the great work!

    • +1

      bpctech one

    • I'd upgrade the case for $29 though - better airflow with front intake. and cooler to the thermalright assassin.

I bought the $2999 because it comes with $250 USD Steam credit - https://www.bpctech.com.au/product/sv-msi-4080-siren-vortex-…

When i bought it it had a better motherboard (B650-S Wifi). I'm hoping they still honour that.

      • I was eyeing that MSI build as well, but according to the terms and conditions for the MSI promotion, neither the B650-S or the current B650M-P motherboards are eligible for the promotion https://au.msi.com/Promotion/anz-get-powered-by-msi-2023.

I messaged BPCTech about this a few days ago but they haven't responded yet.

The eligible B650 motherboards according to MSI are:
MPG B650 CARBON WIFI MPG B650 EDGE WIFI MPG B650I EDGE WIFI
MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI MAG B650M MORTAR WIFI PRO B650M-A WIFI
        PRO B650-P WIFI

        • +1

they've updated the build to B650M-A WIFI from the looks of it

    • Definitely BPC imo. Parts are better there except the card is 4080, instead of 4080S.

Is it really not covered by damage in transit unless I pay $43 extra for insurance?

    • +4

It is covered under ACL. Very poor for the company to even have this on their site.

    • The extra cost is used towards the courier to cover the whole cost of the system, it's their extra service. Otherwise, they only cover a very small amount of cost and bear very little responsibility. Transport is a nightmare industry and extremely competitive, they will do anything to have less responsibility to reduce cost.

  • Thoughts of purchasing without windows 11 for $169-199 and buying an online activation CDkey instead?

    • +3

def no windows and buy a key on ebay for $10

    • No I don't recommend buying a license key from cdkey or any other similar sites cause those keys aren't unique and have been resold many times that you may have a random chance getting your key revoked after a few months of usage

      • Thats not what they do.

They are excess from volume licences, or pulled from defunct machines.

        • Actually yes and no, ive been buying from ebay but there was 1 occurrence i had to ask for refund.

But ive bought about 5 with success

    • Just install windows 11 and don't bother registering it. It seems to just work with a little nag.

  • -4

typical 4080 Super is supposed to be cheaper than 4080 but has been sold for more.
also the case selections sucks, can we get a decent selection like fractal design or Phanteks.

    • Hey mate, current 4080 pricing is very low as retailers are losing money trying to sell them. Once prices settle a bit more you will see the difference in pricing. We are still selling well below market price brother, it's just the current lowest retail price as of posting.

Fractal Design and Phanteks unfortunately not as demand is low and we can't stock so many high-end cases. The cost of them is high and we don't get good pricing on them to pass on the awesome discounts we do. We prefer Lian Li as our premium end cases, well priced and great quality. Spectacular to work on as well, of course, our opinion is subjective. To my knowledge on OzBargain, there aren't any retailers offering Phanteks or Fractal Design for systems for the previous reasons mentioned. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

  • Decent deals; glad to see the replacement of those atrocious A620 boards. Price savings on this make-up for the 4080S launch prices are so poor for us Aussies. C tier PSU, only gripe is the DRAM-less SSD that id replace immediately. Good job

  • How is warranty handled?
Will I need to ship the PC back, or does it get picked up by a courier?

    • +1

I've replied to your live chat message, yes it's a courier pick up.

      • that's great to know, i asked the same question to techfast and they only send the label and instructions on how to package.

looking forward to your next 4080 or 4090 deal

  • Yo OP, do you stock 360 AIO as an option?

    • Just 240mm ones for now as they're better value. We do some some DeepCool LE720s unlisted though, only some cases support 360mm AIOs. Which one were you thinking?

      • Still haven't decided but in case I go bigger Lian Li's — 216 or III :D

        • +2

Let me know, I can add in the 360mm AIO option for you when you're ready.

  • Thumbs up for an awesome transaction. My son needed help with customising his "perfect" PC. Took him a while to lock in his final build, and these guys have been very responsive, accomodating and patient.

His machine arrived today, fully built and all ready to go. Everything was to spec and seems to be performing as expected. A positive experience compared to our previous acquisition with the other popular PC retailer here on OzB.

    • You're awesome!!

  • well, the 7800x3d build costs about the same if you build it yourself according to PCPP if opting for the case, psu and mobo upgrade.

  • is that picture of the "FRACTAL NORTH CHARCOAL" case correct.
it should look like this https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/cases/atx/100775-fd-c-no…

    • It's not correct, it was just a custom request for an order that we inputted and haven't removed. I've removed that now :).

We don't stock this case unless it's requested.
