6/2/2024 - Pen is back in stock and 2 cents cheaper @ $16.75!

Been a while since we had a Lamy deal - Great price for a Lamy pen to use at home or at the office.
Note that it is shipping from Amazon Germany so could take a few weeks to a month to arrive.
These usually go for around $25-30 so a significant saving in my opinion.

I'm struggling to find things to write about, anyway, bought!

  • I've got one of these and it is great. Any suggestions for the best place to get refills for LAMY pens?

eBay was cheapest last time I stocked up.

      • Good to know, thank you.

Welcome to Ozbargain, where people will nitpick a few cents on a deal, but drop $15+ on a pen.

  • Modern Red Ballpoint Pen

    What's the difference?

    • +1

It's a modern red instead of a historical red

      • +1

        Understood! :O

  • Wait a minute, so we actually equate “Made in Germany” to reliable and long-lasting? Time to find a German boyfriend 🤣

    • To borrow and paraphrase a joke from Norm Macdonald: "Germany went to war against the world twice and it was actually close."

But to put that chapter of history to one side for a moment, Germany has always been home to cutting edge design and engineering, with incredible productivity to back it up. Having said that, this is just a ballpoint pen at the end of the day lol.

Magnificent country though, well worth a visit.

I’ve not been able to go anywhere since I adopted a few felines during Covid - didn’t think it was ever going to end lol I’m locked in for 20 years or so of house arrest.

Have met a French woman who had divorced a German in the past year, she said they were very ‘square’ in the ways of thinking. Of course I can’t know what that means from someone with a French background, she’s a wildly free spirit who would tell me about the nude beaches in Noosa, before it turned into the upright place it is today.

I would argue that to destroy something is far easier than to building it up. Keeping peace takes the effort of the entire human race, whereas to start a war, you only need a few intelligent assholes and a bunch of bystanders 😝

Haha us too. I'll look after yours if you look after mine. 👍

        • It's impossible to imagine how two peoples who have lived as neighbours for so long could be so different from one another, but so it is with the French and the Germans. Obviously we're all unique individuals, but I wouldn't be surprised if that pairing was pretty rare.

You're right about it being easier to destroy something than build it up, but that's exactly the point. Industrialised warfare requires a hell of a lot of building before anything can be destroyed. If you compare the populations of the participants in soccer terms, Germany (with some help from Italy) was essentially fielding 4 players against 11, and like he says in the joke: it was actually close…

It's a strange idea for me to bring up to be fair, but the fact the war lasted as long as it did the is crazy really, and speaks to their ability to make stuff at the very least. Anyway, nothing has changed in that regard which is why I brought it up. They are 'square' and they tend to do things properly. Bottom line, this is surely a fine ballpoint pen lol.

          • @diamondd: Ah I see what you meant, wp. As far as the build quality of the human goes tho, the German ex of my friend’s was in and out of the hospital a lot 😂 I shall stay away from picking a fight with this pen now just to be safe.

My Grandfather flew to Germany with work in 1940, he said he only got to see it from the air but what he saw he liked.

Pen is back in stock and 2 cents cheaper - $16.75 but note that it's delivered in 1-4 weeks from Amazon Germany.

  • What is so special about this pen?

  • received it today, squashed box and not too impressed with the pen itself as the seams where the two halves connect is quite rough.

Initiated Amazon return and it said no need to return.
