Nice work OP! Mine stopped working last night, and I was going to start looking for a new one this morning.
Don't s'pose you've found a special on unicorns? The daughter wants one and it was second on my list for this morning…

      How did it stop working?

Did yours suffer the click issue too?

      • Sorta off tangent, but I had one whereby the button switches had issues i.e. double clicks/ clicks no longer registering. There was a sale on Amazon late last year for the Lift Vertical. I went to JB HIFI and price matched it, the staff agreed and handed me the box. Paid at checkout, went home and realised that he had given me the MX Vertical (neither of us, nor the cashier realised the mistake). So I got the MX Vertical for real cheap. Then again, the switch issue would happen sometime down the line as from what I googled, it is common and somewhat beginner unfriendly to fix.

These are great have been using them at work and home, and don't have big hands

The lift is a newer cheaper model but recommend the MX vertical.

@cymbolic did you try plugging the cable in, and holding down the button on the bottom? Mine has shat itself occasionally but usually recovers.

    • Thanks for tip, but it's the right button on mine that's now working intermittently. I'm ok with it though - got 3yrs out of it as my daily driver and it got heaps of use in that period. Absolutely awesome device - couldn't go back to a flat mouse now!

      • Ah bummer. Agreed that has lasted a fair while and I'd buy another in a heart beat. I usually price beat at Officeworks ;).

Edit: I've got two and the first one have had a lot longer than that. I think I'd contact the seller, 2y warranty is fair but yeah 3y you may be out of luck.
may be repairable as mentioned below. Just get another one anyway (I like having one for work and one for home :))

No way I would be retiring that mouse! I'm OzB style, get the tools and crack her open! There's probably a guide in the internet, and a button at Jaycar would cost you $1 to repair.

If you can be bothered, send it my way! My eldest boy of 12 would love to attempt the repair!

    • I'll second this, I had smaller hands and have this and I love it, it's great for me. I know others though with smaller hands don't, so it's down to individual preference rather than an automatic no for those without large mittens.

      • ACL 2 years right?

        • +1

just argue your case. It seems more of a design flaw.

          • @impoze: Hmm yeah will keep it in mind, the first one is more than 5y old maybe older. Something to do with the power when it gets flat and doesn't turn on but usually comes good after a while. The second one seems a bit better.

  • Is it more comfy than MX Master 3/3s?

    • +3

I started getting wrist pain with my MX Master 2 - switched to MX Vert and it resolved almost overnight.
Just my 2c, but switching to a Vert mouse for work was a complete win for me. The one thing I miss is the horizontal scroll wheel. :(

Yeah give it a go, I had tennis elbow (not from playing 🎾) and the vertical mouse is great, hasn't been an issue since. It's pretty intensive using a normal mouse all day so I'd highly recommend it (and a tax deduction).
You get used to it surprisingly fast, like 10 minutes.

Mine never had the click issue would sometimes not turn on but probably doesn't like the quick charging power.

      • How does this mouse compare to the MS Ergo Mouse?

        https://au.directnine.com/products/microsoft-sculpt-ergonomi…

        • No idea sorry haven't used or see that one.

        • +1

No idea, as I've not used the MS Ergo. From a purely visual perspective, the MX Vert looks more "upright" than the MS Ergo, which appears to have a more like 45 degree angle and very curvy.

Been using mine almost daily for the last 5 years. Rubber layer is wearing out and is slightly sticky otherwise still works great!.

    fantastic mouse.

Onto my second MX Vertical. First one I took back to HN and they refunded me as they couldn't get it in stock, so it turned out to be a free one.

Seriously can't recommend a better mouse, I have large hands and my wrist pain has gone away

  • +1

I wish it had more customisable buttons like mx master

  • Very good mouse, particularly for those with large hands. Takes the strain off the carpal ligament/tunnel.

  • Thanks OP got one. Now to find the best keyboard. Any suggestions.

    • +1

      MX keys. Done.
I got the same combo at work and home.
      Both support 3 devices too.

  • This has a loud click compared to the lift.

Also no horizontal or free scroll feature

  • +1

Love this mouse for avoiding 'rounded shoulder'. Would be nice if it had the MX Master's functionality, but prefer this shape for the ergonomics.

Price matched with Officeworks. Thanks OP!
