My favourite posh cheese (I normally stick to Aldi’s offerings). Serve with fresh baguette and a bit of quince paste

    Best cheese evvvvveeeerrrrr

    • do you normally have it is as it do you have any recommendations for paste, crackers and antipasto to go with it?

  • I’ll never forgive them for discontinuing the triple crème brie

  • This is dropping in price everywhere although I cant pinpoint why aside from short dates possibly.

In SA, Romeos has it from $19.99 - $63kg depending on store.

Damn site cheaper than the regular $90+kg of recent years.

  • Is Harris Farms country-wide? Haven't seen them in WA

    • I don’t see any WA locations on their store locator - different business., it seems?

      Only NSW and QLD

      • Harris Farm will also deliver to ACT.

Have you tried the Crémeux d’Argental? I rate it higher than this one. Best soft cheese I’ve had.

    • +1

I have not. Will give it a try after I finish this D’Affinois wedge I purchased today.

  • Ditch the quince.
    Try seedless grape instead.

  • Love this cheese. Used to get it marked down over 90% off at Coles quite regularly. Don't seem to see it these days though :(

Why would someone pay over $10/kg over this cheese? You know you can put it in mushroom bag and weight it as mushrooms cup at self service checkout?

    • +1

      mmm tastes like shoplifting

    • I've never seen a self serve checkout at harris farm.

No cheese is $10/kg anymore, not even cheddar (tasty)

    • Did you notice that camera above the cheese counter, and the other one at the checkout…..

      • What about the mushroom section?

    This deal stinks!

  • Can you still eat it after expiry without getting sick? Anyone tried?

    • yes

    • Why would you risk it? unless you like your anus to think its a firehose

      • Why would you risk it? because it tastes better after the 'best before' date

    • +3

Yep. In fact it has a best before date but an expiry. In my opinion it only reaches a good level of ripeness at the best before date.

    • Most dairy lasts well beyond the best before or expiry date. I buy markdown milk for 90% off and it is still fresh a week later.

    • Highly relevant question I suspect; I went to HF yesterday and there was an absolutely yuuuuuuuuge pile of this stuff, all expiring on either 1 or 2 March. Might explain the special…

    • Do you mean expiry or best by date

  • Thanks for the recommendation! Just bought some and it's heavenly! My fav cheese now. Had it with buttered sourdough and quince :)

    • Haha amazing, some things are worth splurging a little extra for ;)
