Tempted to get this to replace my two S2721DGF’s as my desk is pretty shallow and I don’t end up using the far left section of one of them.
Don’t know if I can let go of the extra space though

    • +9

Nah, don't ditch IPS for VA

      • +2

Well to each his own… I'd rather have better blacks. This monitor was Ozbargainers favourite and most voted monitor for some years in a row.

      • +2

As someone who only has time to game late at night in the dark, VA is WAY better than IPS for this use case.
The response time for VA panels these days is so low that it's neglible. IPS looks like ass in the dark.

    • Put one in vertical, good for tiktok and manga.

      • Not sure if you’re joking but I rotated one to portrait a day or so ago. I use it for wfh and some gaming and not totally sold on the vertical orientation. Might just need some time to work out what works

    • +1

I used to have dual screen 24in wide paired with a 27in ultra wide.

Moved to a 32in Dell flat monitor with 50/50 window split mounted on a monitor arm with the recently posted ESR 15in portable monitor underneath only used when working and it has reduced all the clutter. When using it off work I turn off the 50/50 and the ESR.

I have used a similar 34in curved here and does take getting used to but on a monitor arm just makes for a cleaner work space. Paired with a portable monitor or by itself I think it would be a good setup if space is a premium.

    • Thinking the same. Have the 34 at work and really rate it over the 2x27’s at home. What do you reckon the 27’s would be worth second hand?

  • Anyone have this monitor and can tell me how the PBP works? I want to set up two computers, one at 16:9 and the other at 5:9, can anyone confirm this is possible or an even split down the middle?

    • +3

Yeah don't think so, had a look with mine (S3422DWG) and you can do even split, or do a quadrant of the screen (21:9) or a smaller box in the corner looks 21:9 as well. None of these I have found particularly useful.

    • The available splits are half and half, 1/4 and 3/4, 1/16 and 15/16. I use the even split to work concurrently on Mac and PC with logi flow, which I find useful.

  • are these sales or a reduction in price and if so, how long would it last as im thinking of stacking with the gift card on the 28th

    • 28th is just few more days, worth a wait

      • +1

okay thank you! ive been eyeing these for a while now

    • Hi,
Is that giftcard thing publicly accessible?
      Thanks

      • Yes, it will work :)

    • +1

I actually reached out to customer support about this and they said until next Thursday

    • Gift card? Or are you referring to the 'crypto email' discount

  • +1

Use code MUZEEB for free fantasticness

    • "MUZEEB" is not a valid coupon code.

  • +1

I have two of these stacked on top of each other. This is great value!

    • +1

What stand did you use? I am thinking the same setup

      • +1

On Amazon, I got it on sale for about 60 bucks

VIVO Dual Monitor Desk Mount Stand with Height Adjustment and VESA Plates for 2 LCD Ultrawide Screens up to 34 inches, Stacked Array, STAND-V002R
        https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B01CUW5HDU?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_p…

It's quite good for the money. I'm not into constantly making adjustments so its more of a "set it up and leave it the hell alone" type of thing.

    • Hello, I'm looking to buy 2 of these too. Can I have a picture of your setup? Thanks

      • +1

        Here you go : https://ibb.co/NWDWBd7

Let me know if the link doesn't work. I've mounted the top one upside down and at an slight angle. Been using this set up almost everyday now for a few months and I have no complaints.

        • Hey, much appreciated. Also how is your neck for long usage?

          • @Santahashi: It's fine. I sit where my eyes are in line with the very bottom of the top screen.

  • Hmm trying to decide between the dwg and AOC CU34G2X

    Any advice?

  • +1

If I'm only using the monitor for general use (no gaming, work and general media consumption only) the S3422DWG is a decent one to get right? I've been looking for an ultrawide mainly for work purposes. Tbh the only reason why I'm considering getting that over the S3423DWC is because it's cheaper and the specs are similar with small differences.

I just need some validation or any feedback before I add to cart

    • +1

Hi, I've got this same monitor for the past two months, and I've been using it for work. It's so damn helpful when I look at Excel sheets I can see so many columns.

I think it's a very good value for an ultrawide you should definitely get it!

      • yeah that's what I had in mind. Some spreadsheets that I got have plenty of columns and rows and I thought that ultrawide would help with the view

    • Depend on what do you mean by general media. If you connect to a device like laptop or tablet or phone, usb-C support is worth $100 different, it can power your device, and connect directly to your device with usb-C cable without additional hub.
If you want to connect to android box, or fire tv and something similar, better to look for TV rather than monitor.

      • no I'm not really using it for movies or shows since I rarely get into stuff like that but general as in random youtube videos I may find or looking at stuff on social media. But I will look into the thing with usb-C since that is something I never thought of.

  • sorry for dumb question. Can I use the usb c to power the laptop as well as to display on monitor? Not sure what specs of this suggest this feauture.

    • +1

Yes, but only up to 65watt. Depend on what laptop you use, some require more power than that.
      Edit—- to clarify:
You can always use the usb-c for display. If your laptop need more than 65watt to power, it will still try to charge but the battery still drain, so you might need additional power to your laptop.

    • Yes, but it also needs support from the laptop. Most of them have, but not 100%. 3 years ago I got a HP laptop from company, which has one USB-C port, but not chargeable. Another laptop, Lenovo X1 Carbon G5, is chargeable in normal cases. But when the battery is flat, it could only be charged using the original Lenovo charger

    • short answer yes, the USB-C will supply up to 65W, but most laptops will manage internally with the 65W even tho laptop supplied charger is 90/130/140W. It will work.

  • G3223 for $609 after code is worth considering

    32"4K IPS 144hz

    • how did you calculate that. did you use the student discount or crypto one

  • +5

Thanks OP, just bought the G3223q with student discount and $100 cashback with AMEX Business rewards card. Upgrading from 29" 1080 60hz lol.

    • I am planning to do the same. How did you create the @xxxx.edu.au email?

    • I have an amex plat buisness account is the dell offer targeted or can i call then up about it, is it different from this offer (https://www.dell.com/en-au/lp/american-express-benefits-at-d….) and is that offer targeted. 1st time actually using offers with the card so not sure how to go with it.

  • +2

I have been waiting for this deal for months! Thanks op

  • Does anyone know if these are compatible with North Bayou monitor arms?

    • +1

      Yes, it will work.

      North Bayou arms = supports VESA 75mm x 75mm and 100mm x 100mm

Both dell monitors are on VESA 100mm x 100mm

      • +4

One thing to look out for is that because of the curve changing centre of gravity forward, the regular hinges for tilt on most monitor arms aren't strong enough so the angle droops down. I've got the NB H100 for my S3422DWG and it's only just barely strong enough to hold the angle I want after really cranking the hinge tightness as hard as I could.

If you're going to be changing the angle a lot then definitely get a heavy duty or ultrawide specific arm for those better hinges.

        • If you're going to be changing the angle a lot then definitely get a heavy duty or ultrawide specific arm for those better hinges.

          Any suggestions ?

          • @ruprectaus: No personal experience with any so can't say unfortunately. Best bet for budget options would be to check reddit for people with this monitor and what they've used that works. Or if you're tossing out the OzB license get an arm specifically labelled for ultrawides such as this (https://desky.com.au/products/ultrawide-monitor-arm) but they get expensive fast.

  • +1

DWC is nice enough. I have one at work and the usb-c as a one cable dock is nice. If it had ethernet it would be great but it doesn't so still wifi when docked.

  • S3423dwc - $599 / $557 with coupon,

    what coupon ?

  • +1

With the coupon I can only get the G3223Q down from $669.90 to $622.01 (7% off + a random -$1 adjustment). Should I wait given I don't urgently need it? G3223Q went down to $599.50 on 10 Nov 2023 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/810855) and as low as $500 during June 2023.

    • +3

If you can wait then wait. It's a good enough price to buy now

  • From rtings review "The Dell S3422DWG 34 has a slower response time in dark scenes, resulting in significant black smear in dark areas. This is especially distracting when scrolling the web with a dark background or using a dark user interface."

Would like an ultra wide but I use dark mode all the time, anyone else have experience with it?

  • If you are a student or have a business employee, work or student email, support can probably help with a 7% discount if codes are not working. I got this monitor on Friday after a quick chat with support asking about any deals. Go on chat and ask and they send you a custom invoice to that email.

But shopback tracked $7 for the initial payment, not sure if I will still get it

  • would the S3422dwg work ok with a MacBook?

  • Noob question, S3423DWC, is it possible to connect two PCs by USB C? or one USB C and the other HDMI?

  • Noob question. I already have a Dell S3422DWG 34", which I connect to two laptops ( one work and one home), and just swap between them by programming a key in the display manager to change the display, and changing the keyboard and mouse input between two laptops.
Don't use the laptop for gaming, only work and self study.
If I buy the second Dell S3422DWG 34" for extra extra large workspace, what is the ideal way to connect them, so I can still swap the displays using keyboard?
I think it has two HDMI and one DP.
Anyone has done it, and will it work? Thanks.
