This deal is back where you can get a direct flight to Tokyo with a free one way domestic flight to another city like Sapporo, Osaka, Fukuoka etc.

While the previous deal did say "from $999" I was only ever able to get prices around $1077 due to currency fluctuations and for this deal I'm seeing prices around $1032, so it may ended up cheaper than last time. For example this trip with a connection to Sapporo added in came to $1032.96.

If you haven't flown ANA before you get 2x 23kg checked bags in economy and if you prefer business class you can get direct flights as low as $2732 from this deal. You can get the free domestic flight with business as long as it's within the dates specified below.

    I still prefer JAL economy over ANA.
    Why?

    JAL on their B787-9s (SYD) and B787-8s (MEL) have a 2-4-2 Economy Class (8 Abreast) versus ANA with 9 abreast seating.
    JAL also is now using B77Ws from SYD which is 3-3-3 versus the new industry standard of 3-4-3. Still ANA is years ahead of QF

    Qantas Platinum, Platinum One or Chairmans Lounge, in addition to Oneworld Emerald can use the excellent Qantas First Class lounge in Melbourne/Sydney and the JAL Domestic/International First Class lounges within Japan.

    Have sat on a one way reward flight to Tokyo leaving 17th April and was hoping i'd find a return for late April (around the 27th). Havent seen any reward flights for a week either side of that date. Even the cost to pay for one way return is riddiculous ($2200 one way). I presume everyone coming back from cherry blossom around the same time?

      Also China Airlines (Taiwanese and not PRC) can be found for as low as $800 one way from NRT to MEL/SYD/BNE

        Thanks for your help. I'd prefer Melbourne but I'm flexible. I actually found reward flights from Taipei to Melbourne and have booked. Id prefer to come back direct from Tokyo though if something decent pops up. Got business seats for the fam on JAL on the way over so want to make something work so I didn't have to give them up haha.

      Depending on where you're flying to it's cheaper to take the bullet train. If you're particularly far in somewhere like Fukuoka you can stop over in so many beautiful cities on the way back.

      Depends on the age of the kids, a day in Disneyland, a day in Disney Sea, a day in Sanrio land, Pokemon cafe, kinokuniya book store, tokyu hands buying lunch box , backpack … We just went to Tokyo with two 9yrs old for 9 days.

    Has anyone had any success in finding flights that had the free domestic flight? I searched for Sydney - Fukuoka and then okinawa - tokyo and then tokyo-Sydney and it returned 1500 whereas if I did return to tokyo it was 1030. Is that not how you book the free domestic flight?

      Check my screenshot in the post. Replace Sapporo with Fukuoka and the dates with whatever is in the specified period. Some dates may have sold out already.
