By that logic who are you not boycotting? Almost all major multinational companies operate in Israel as they do all across the world regardless the countries level of humanity.

  • would you guys do?
notebook or desktop + monitor setup?

I will do notebook plus monitor

i would defo do desktop plus monitor, way better performance for less money, unless you need to move around AND game at the same time then obviously laptop.

your needs do not equal other peoples needs.

    • I got a gaming PC and a MacBook and I use the MacBook almost exclusively. If I were a PC I'd get the powerful laptop for sure.

    • Depends, if primarily on the go laptop plus thunderbolt setup is good.
If wanting a dedicated gaming machine. PC is better as you'll burn through your laptop a lot quicker. Even though they are designed to handle higher temperatures now. The chassis and components are all still designed with portability in mind.
      2 - 3 scenarios
      1) >70% portable use - buy your powerful laptop and dock
Or buy business laptop plus a console
      2) game extensively at home or doing machine learning etc when at home. Just get a PC. You can upgrade bits and pieces as you need.
I have an iMac at home which I'm looking at replacing with a windows laptop, thunderbolt dock and dual monitor.
I also have a dedicated PC on my tv

    • Depends on where you need to move the pc. Is it to bring to work/uni/lan party regularly? Or just to sit by your 20mx20m heated pool?

If it's the latter and just want to game around the house then just buy a cheap tablet and use a game streaming app like moonlight or steam. Can stream 4k60 fine on your local wan. This saved me from buying a legion go

  • thanks for all feedbacks, will look into a dock option, this be more hybrid option not full gaming machine, maybe slow upgrade the monitor

Improve on yourself and get a better job?
Stop going on holidays or eating fast food?

3k on a laptop doesn't mean your rich

    • Depends on people's circumstances, I earn under 50k a year atm but because I save elsewhere especially in rent and food it's not unnotainable for me. Although the money would be nicer spent elsewhere I would prefer to use the money to travel.

If this was a 4080 this would be a no brainer. The 4070 only performing the same as the 3070Ti is a dealbreaker for me.

  • It looks like there have been further price drops on the desktops: now $1999 and $2095, respectively.
