I had been using the 100W 20000mAh for more than a year: it can output 100W. The display is very informative.

    • Capacity seems fine?

    • +10

It can output 100w, but also shits itself and turns off shortly due to overheating.

    • Good powerbank, but the size is bit unwieldy for everyday use (not that 20,000 mAh should be your everyday powerbank). The display, while indeed useful, is very dim.

    • +2

You're hilarious. I bought from TaoBao instead of there. If you want even more power, you can also consider Ugreen 145W powerpack; that has only battery level instead of info like current, voltage and time remaining under such power output, etc.

Personally I used that to supply both my cinema camera and its monitoring display at the same time, my B cam (sometimes another mirrorless or iPhone) also draw power from that. No overheat on my powerpack but I don't know may be my region is only subtropical climate.

      • How big is it?
Im chasing a couple for myself and family when travelling m, and dont want ones that are too big (weight and W)
I know your suggestion is too high for planes but might still be good for intrastate trips

        • +1

16 x 13.5 x 1 cm. It's about when both of my palms joined. Qantas has limit of 100Ah which this is only 74Ah. Weight is acceptable to be a laptop/camera/family purpose but not something you go out within a day with just a phone.

You mean Ugreen? Much more expensive here compared to direct purchase from China when both the Baseus 100W and this are at similar price there. This is still below 100Ah flight restriction - https://www.amazon.com.au/UGREEN-Portable-25000mAh-Rechargin…

For a dell laptop the 100w one makes sense, right?

    • Depends on the laptop

    • Most makes sense except if you have gaming laptop or MacBook Pro (Max M CPUs). Even MBP automatically slow down when supplied power is not enough, I guess.

Do not buy Baseus. my 65W Power Bank Quick Charging Powerbank could barely provided full charge to an iphone, it went from full to dead within an hour.

What’s the warranty like? Do they offer any help at all?

      • +1

It was fine. They responded through ebay but asked very difficult questions. Wanted videos of it charging and then going from 100 - 0… etc. Pretty annoying thing to produce and not what I expected. I ended up not bothering and missing the window to provide evidence since I was busy at work. If I pushed harder I probably could have got a refund, but it trying to let others avoid the headache.

        • +3

lol that’s an hour-long video at least. They must think everyone has the equipment setup and ready to go to make time-lapse videos. This is really the problem I’m seeing a lot lately, where the customer is required to prove fault with videos. What happens in the old days where we couldn’t do that? Did all businesses go bankrupt because of fraudulent warranty claims 😑 Even the police wouldn’t start a case without video evidence these days, it’s like real life has caught on ‘videos or it didn’t happen’. Anyhow, sounds like a headache to deal with, thanks for the warning.

          • +1

@frugalftw: I agree. I think a large part of insisting for videos is they know from experience that a lot of people aren't going to bother.

    • I have a 65w 30,000mAh BaseUS charger. I think the display is incorrectly calibrated because I charge my device until it gets to 0%, and then it continues to charge for another 2x the amount of time it took to get to 0 the first time. And yes, it actually charging (I have a cable that displays usage too)

Is this speculation, or you have information about brand and warranty?

  • This good for the ally?

    • +1

67wh output capacity in actual testing, so it’s good for at least 1.5 recharges for the ally.

      • For the 100w pro 20000mah?

        • Yeah, reddit says the 100w goes to 30w on ally. BUT I would only buy a Baseus if it’s sold from a physical shop or Amazon.

Wait for 737 or ZMI, these are built to last. Personally I’m using 537 with ally, it goes up to 25w only, has not been an issue since I’m mostly on 10w, even for Elden Ring.

          • @frugalftw: Nice. Im hanging to get a ally but unsure ill be using it alot. I hardly have time to game nowdays was thinking maybe the ally would give me more chance.

            • +1

@Jklaro: You won’t regret it. It srsly reduced my screen time on iPad and phone. Hardly touched my gaming laptop since I got it lol On 10w I would dive with Dave before bed or run some classic J RPGs, and usually fall asleep before it runs out of juice. If you commute or have to wait often for appointments, it’s awesome. It does get a little heavy when I play lying on my back in bed while holding it in front of me, got one of those and solved some of the issues. Assuming you are male (or testosterone-dominate), it might not be such a problem, because I haven’t read about anyone having problem with the weight and they probably didn’t test much with female users.

If you can get a good deal from JB, go for it. I asked them twice, the second offer was much better lol The next gen would be better but might also take months to come out. You only get 24/2/24 once in your lifetime :)

      • For the max 100W power also depends if the devices and cables both supports 100W+. I have run through may 30-50 USB (both 2.0, 3.0, 3.0 USB-A to C, C to C) cables and even C to C are not all able to make to 100W power but 60W.

My 3 year old Baseus 65W 25000mAh - did a 5V 0.5A discharge capacity test and got to 7000mAh before pack shut off. Never tested full rated capacity when new but would expect ~14000mAh rated capacity for this power bank. So lost 50% of useable capacity in 3yrs.

    • +1

How did you do the testing? I have a few older powerbanks and would be curious to know their capacity now

      • There are USB meter dongles do that.

For $68 the pro is an alright purchase, the previous version had really bad QC, and the current version seems to have slightly better QC (my cells haven't died yet) but it overheats when using at high wattage for too long (I haven't had it all out stop charging but it feels very warm to the touch and could see it stopping if it was charging at a higher rate, other people in previous posts have noted theirs has overheated though).

Suits me well to have in a carry case with my surface pro and charges that just fine.
It's form factor is its good and unique characteristic.

When my previous version died, the warranty process was easy and I got a refund without having to return the dead product (not that it was of much use anyways).

  • The 100w comes to $70.99 for me, $3 postage for some reason. After doing some digging, I think the best unit is probably the 65w 30kah, all things considered. The number of ports really turn me off still. Thanks for the find, great deal 👍

    • The 65w30k can go into flight without declaring?

      • It’s apparently 114wh, and most flights allow for 100wh. Pretty big and heavy for flying though. I wonder if you could ask the flight attendant to recharge your power bank for you nowadays, if you don’t have an outlet nearby.

Short answer, a polite no. The long answer in the galley… You wouldn't f'ing believe what this guy asked me!

          • @Daabido: lol sorry to hear that. It should change with time I’d think. If they are happy to give out high carb food to keep passengers happy, it’s only a matter of time for them to realise electronic devices is a cheaper and cleaner addiction to cultivate and maintain 😅

  • Anyone knows if these can be used on Quest 3, charging the battery while operating with gains ?

  • Thanks. Got the 26800 one for my Europe trip (via long layovers in Hong Kong) so the extra juice will be needed.
Hopefully it will be as reliable as my 10000 Cygnett gen 2. I was tempted to get the 20000 Cygnett but wanted to see what this higher output battery is like as my gen 2 is only 15w.

  • Am currently using 30000mah with Legion go.

Works perfectly. Can keep it charged for about 3 hours on top of internal battery.

  • Can these charge while being charged?

    • +1

no passthrough, at least on the 65w 30000 model

  • This got me searching as I need a smallish Magsafe Charger having found myself in the city recently with no charging solution and only 12% left on my iPhone - So, 2 minutes :) .

  • I have one and it’s decent - I doubt it gets to its full rated capacity but is enough.

One thing I would note don’t buy the 100w for low power devices like LED lights etc. it seems to turn them off after a couple of mins.

  • Is the 100w Pro the same as what is referred to as the Blade 2/Blade HD?

    • Yep.

      • thanks!

  • How long should it take to charge these things? I have had the 26800 version plugged in for about 12 hours and it has gone from 38% to about 84%.

    • Depends on the batteries rated input and the chargers output.

    • Depends on the charge rate. The power bank in question displays the voltage and amperage so it's easy to check.

You are getting about a 5W charge rate. If plugged into a 5V, 1A source (or only charging at that rate) then that's a normal amount of time.

If charging at a higher rate (eg, 20V, 3A) then no, that's not normal, and it indicates a problem.
