  • I checked them literally an hour ago …

Thanks. Bought one with the coles GC via PayPal. This card can be added to Google pay so easier to use anywhere.

    • +1

How can this card load to google pay? Also, can I load multiple cards and combine balance of all loaded cards?

    • Thanks! Did the same

    • Erorr while checking out with paypal (already added Coles GC to paypal)
"Check your account with your card issuer before trying this card again"

      • Same here, did you find a fix? I was trying to pay via PayPal for a $100 Visa using a $100 Coles MC

        • +1

You don't have to go through paypal, I bought $250 visa with $250 coles MC by directly entering the card details

        • PayPal failed, but normal card payment using card details worked

          • +1

@JeremyDealFiend: Managed to use 4/5 $100 Coles Mastercards

then got "Your payment can’t be processed for technical reasons. Try again or use a different payment method." when trying the final one

        • +1

@JeremyDealFiend @Nohtyp @savingM I got the same issue but it worked after 5 minutes waiting.

  • +4

Perfect timing to stack with the 10% off Coles Mastercard GCs.

    • +1

Just so you have VISA, or why else do you need to swap to this?

      • +3

so you can load it into your phone wallet and pay with NFC rather than being limited to using it online

        • Never knew Debit Masters didn't work on phones..

        • Can you load multiple cards on your Google wallet so if I had to pay for passport renewal at the post office for $355 it would go through?

          • @[Deactivated]: You can but if you are buying with the discounted Coles Mastercard GC, then the max you will get is $250. Now I'm not sure if the AusPost is happy to split your payment to two transactions.

            • @foxes28: Yeah,
I was hoping I could pay $250 and then pay the rest on my normal CC?

If I switch the card over to Visa it's okay, as long as I can use the Visa the same way online as MasterCard.

      • +2

so you can use it instore as well

    • How does it stack?

      • +6

Use a 10% off Coles Mastercard Digital gift card to buy this card. You now have a $250 Visa gift card than can be loaded into a mobile wallet and used in store or online instead of the Coles MCD that can only be used online.

    • Tried that, still not working for me

      • Received 1st card but 2nd card order went through but no email received… Anyone having similar issues??

        • Isnt it just one transaction discount offer?

        • I got 3 cards and waiting for 4th which is taking a bit of time

    • +2

Would be more useful if I could stack multiple Coles GCs to get 1 accumulated valued GC.

      • That would really be ideal.

  • TCN app wont work?

    • working for me

    • Beware it doesn’t work very well on iPhone. Android seems to be ok.

  • +2

might sound rather dumb but whats the benefit with this

    • Coles MC can be used only online where this one you can use instore.

  • anyone know if i can use this to pay ato?

    • +4

Use https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/833523 to pay ATO. I was able to use 9 $250 cards

    • +4

anyone know if i can use this to pay ato?

No, they only accept iTunes cards…

I got a call from them last week about this exact topic, so I know………….

      • -1

        call from ATO?

        • +2

Yes, they called to remind my I have an outstanding IRS Tax Bill…

          • @jv: The Australia Tax office called about the Internal Revenue Service, outstanding!

            • @Tollery: They call often.

              • @jv: lucky you! I never get calls from them, I guess my money isn't good enough.

    • +1

Don't know for this specific one, but IIRC Visa debit has a slightly higher fee (0.4%) than Mastercard (0.2%) so the Coles MC is slight better bang for your buck.

      • +2

Unless you want to use this in-store at shops as Coles MC cannot be added to digital wallet.

Purchased Coles MC with Amex, exchanged to Visa (add to digital wallet), spend in-store like Costco.

  • Can online payment with this card only be made via digital wallet, or can you reveal the card number, expiry and CVV to punch it in anywhere?

    • +2

Yes, you got card number, expiry date and CVV in TCN app

    • +2

Purchased this card with the discounted MasterCard. I was able to reveal the card number and details in the TCN app as Hello world mentioned.

  • -4

    So pay $10 for a $10 Visa card !!!!!!!!

    BARGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • you can add these to apple/gpay and buy from physical stores as well & you have some peace of mind that you won't get scammed of cards from the Coles Mastercard deal once you convert them using the offer , so yes a bargain for me.

      • -1

so yes a bargain for me.

So let me get this straight…

The 'bargain' is you are less likely to get scammed????

        • and you can use it in stores than just online

          • @saminn: I can use my original $10 both instore and online.

            • +1

@jv: well I am not spending 10 to get 10 , as I said I got the coles Mc from the other deal for ~231 valued at 250 that I can only use online and some restrictions but after this I have a 250$ VISA card that I can use online or instore subject to the merchant accepting Visa.

            • @jv: You're a bit slow understanding what's going on here, jv. Clearly your writing ability is better than your reading comprehension.

      • Can you also get the card details and buy online? Or do you need to find a place that takes apple/gpay?

        • Yes, in the TCN app.

          • @JohnHowardsEyebrows: You are correct took me awhile to find it on iphone. So then it would seem to me there is only positives from switching it over, unless I am missing something?

    • +1

Is this what they mean by "circular economy"?

Jokes aside, the (minor) benefit that I can see, independent of the Coles MC deal, is that some places (e.g. ATO or flights) charge a higher fee for credit card vs debit card, so using a debit card instead of a credit card directly can reduce some card fees by just a tad. And since we're in OzB, every cent counts, right?

      • charge a higher fee for credit card vs debit card,

Just use BpayNo fees… every cent counts, right?

      • For me, it's the ability to pay for things out and about (coffee, meals, things in stores) with Google Pay.

    • +1

      shutup and take my money

    • You can pay for them with Amex and use them to pay bills where Amex isn't accepted. Plus you'll earn the full Amex earn rate rather than the reduced government rate. Eg. Council rates or insurance charges. I only receive 1MR for government spending, but I get 2.25MR for other spend.

      • ^^^^^ This is what I use it for as well - until Aldi accepts Amex I'll always need a method to pay at MC/Visa only stores as I don't have a MC/Visa CC

    • I assume you don’t know the value of loading and buying in store.
U can basically purchase $250 worth of cards again at Woolworths this week for this deal

  • Couldnt receive SMS to set up google pay/ apple pay

    • Same here. Not receiving SMS for TCN app login.

      • Mine went to spam

        • +1

If you are using google's message app like i did, it wouldn't come in. had to swap to samsung's message app and it will work

  • Does anyone know if credit cards would account this purchase as a cash advance with associated fee? Still waiting for my new NAB card to hit the Qantas bonus points, and can't spend online yet but it will work through Gpay checkout like this one has.

    • Does anyone know if credit cards would account this purchase as a cash advance

      Why would they do that?

      • +1

A cash advance fee is charged when you withdraw cash or transfer funds from your credit card Gambling or gaming-related transactions and other cash like purchases, such as value loaded on a pre-paid card or payments of utility bills over the counter at other financial institutions and post offices, are also classified as cash advances.

        • +2

Only your bank can tell you but I've purchase many gift cards from this exact site before with no additional fee.

        • like purchases, such as value loaded on a pre-paid card or payments of utility bills over the counter at other financial institutions and post offices

Never happened to me… It's always on credit

  • Do you have to add the Ces GC to PayPal to purchase this or can it be purchased directly with the Coles MC?

    • add coles Mc card to paypal and do it one by one for a 250$ visa card

      • Still waiting for my 2nd card email… 1st card was instant. Did you have similar issues??

        • naah all came in straight, sometimes it could take time or contact customer care with the order confirmation

      • +3

Just use card directly without paypal. Just bought 5 and recieved

        • oh great , wasn't sure if that would work as sometimes the coles MC transactions fails

        • Did you use same details for all the cards?

      • Will the balance all go under paypal? eg. if i add $250 x5 it becomes $1250?

  • Wonder if I could stack this with 10% Coles MC and go Telstra to buy the discounted iphone deal.

    • This has a max of $500, so it would depend on Telstra allowing to split the purchase over multiple credit cards.

      • Just called Telstra. Not possible to do split payment. Trying to find alternative method now

  • +1

I have 1 cent left in this visa card. Every time when I try to use it in the supermarket, it fails to go through. Any idea about how to spend the 1 cent?

    • Rip, seems like you're not getting that one cent back.

    • load it to paypal and use it.
Paypal allow you to split payments
