  Didn't the Sony WH-1000XM5 release in May 2022?
  So this is probably old tech?

    These released in 2020 but there's a huge price difference between the two for probably not much better sound but better ANC.

    Basically the same, better mic, better ANC except for low rumblings like busses which you'd want it more for imo. Just because it's newer tech doesn't mean it's better, we still haven't been back to the moon ;)

    Bose is more conformable, while Sony's battery life and noise cancelling is better.

    Any other rating is too subjective, or something that you fix using a good EQ profile*.

    Grated, EQ profiles will only fix tone and balance
    you'll still have differences because of transient response, ringing, distortion, dispersion e.t.c.

    So, I highly recommend you check out reviews on rtings.

    *This profile is for Neutral Sound, and again your tastes might be different.

      The Sony have 3 modes, noise cancelling / transparent / regular sound (without cancelling) whereas the bose only has the first 2.

      Which isnt bad but some people like to use the 'normal mode' which does not cancel sound and doesn't add extra passthrough noise.

      The Sony also has the option of hitting the power button while they're on to hear the current battery percent which the bose doesnt have. I had the bose and although I liked them, I missed all the small quality of life functions on the sony.

  Is this pair good headphones for listening to musics?
  It sounds a bit better than MX5 but it wasn't good as the Bose QC45.
