Their offers as of late have been really crap, dunno why. I am guessing there is some sort of algorithm going on, as soon as we changed to box divvy for fresh produce I started getting the bonus offers.

    • -1

Yes. These offers should come if you don’t swipe your flybuys at Coles for few weeks.

      • +1

We shop at Coles every week (and have done so for years) and we get all these offers.

      • I have to disagree. Between my 6 accounts the 4 I have used got the offer, and the 2 I haven't used did not. Whatever the algorithm - it's not this.

    • +4

woolworths much better, least you dont have to do $50+ in one shop

      • +1

        yea not $50, just more.

      • +1

Yeah Woolies is a lot better for this, although min spend has jumped to $100 at Woolies this week and $50 at Coles soooo looks like I'm doing the one shop

        • I almost never get these from Woolies.
I scan my card every time chasing the double points as an 'EDR Extra' member.
I may have to stop scanning except for my monthly 10% off shop.

      • +7

Woolworths rewards sucks, so unreliable, they gave me a booster:
Week 1 "shop before 25 Feb" to get 1000 points.
        Week 2 shop between 26 Feb - 3 March for another 1000.

I shopped on 19th. Looked in app, didn't work. I spoke to customer service and they said that Week 1 was 23 Feb to 25 Feb. Wtf?
        A) Why was I able to boost it outside the period,
        B) it said "before 25 Feb", and;
        C) 3 days is not a week.
Online wouldn't budge so I called and they gave me the points "as a gesture of goodwill". Waste of 30 mins of my life.

        • got those offers too, they are 1 cent spends & get 1000pts, then also got spend $50 x 2 weeks for 3500pts, can't complain with that

my guess would be you didn't activate it but thought you did

          • -1

            @RogueWolf: It's activated, I explained the issue.

        • -1

Why was I able to boost it outside the period,

This deal you can also do that..

          it said "before 25 Feb"

And it was before 25 Feb.

3 days is not a week.

This deal also has a different period to the others.. (Week 1 is 10 days, Weeks 2-4 are 7)

          they gave me the points

          So you still got them.

Waste of 30 mins of my life.

How much did this waste? 30 mins in the scheme of things isn't a lot.

Now don't get me wrong there's a million things you can complain about with Woolies but their rewards system works? They didn't have to give you the points..

        • +1

I wouldn’t say the rewards are unreliable, they always offer me deals in advance to activate. I actually prefer that so I can plan ahead.

That particular deal was bizarre though. Usually they list the start date clearly but this time I had to go looking in the T&C’s when the offer presented to me. The terms did say week 1 was 23/02-25/02 so I can see why they pushed back on you.

    • +2

Woolies offer doesn't need to spend in one transaction.

  • +3

    I didn't get it. Targeted?

  • +6

    Got $60x4.

Was getting $50 a year ago and then it spiked to $150 for 3000 points, going to $70x4 for 10,000 points. And now $60x4.

Just have to keep yourself off off Coles to get these targeted offers.

    • +2

      Get another card.

      • Current card is fine. It’s not outrageous anymore. $60 will go back to $50 again.

    • I havent had a single offer on either of our cards for months!d

    • +1

Wasn't my experience. Had 4 x 60 last time round, and got the 4 x 50 this time

Was expecting higher minimum spend this time based off comments on here, but as always YMMV

      • True. I was mad at myself for buying GCs to find minimum spend shoot upwards. All’s well now.

        • Yes, I was getting terrible offers for nearly a year but gone back to $50 x 4 for 10k points again.

  • +2

    For me the options were:
Collect 10,000 Flybuys for 4x$120 (or $50 off your shop)
    or
Collect 20,000 Flybuys for 4x$170 (or $100 off your shop)

Previous one I activated was 10,000 for 4x$60. Ill have to wait and hope it goes down to 4x$60 again.

    • +4

It's based on your spending habits. Coles and Woolies always push you towards spending slightly more than what you spent last time. So, if you spend $150 a week on one Flybuys card, there is very little chance that you will get an offer that requires less than $150 to spend.

If you are spending more than $50 on one flybuys card, try to break the spend on multiple flybuys cards.

  • +2

Normally get this offer but didn't get it this round. Instead I got 1000 points for swiping at least 3x in Coles until end of March

    • Same here. I got the offer of 500 points for 2 shop. So I will pass

      • $2.50 down the drain!

        • Might cost me more for Opal charges to go to a Cole’s

    • Same here , nil offers

  • Nothing showing in the app for me so this appears to be a targeted offer. Probably best to highlight this in the title.

  • Mine is for $60/week. Previous offer was for $80/week,

  • -1

I have about 48000 points and never seem to get any offers anymore.
Everyday Reward is so much better.

    • +3

I am the opposite, no weekly offers for Woolworths, but always get them for Coles.

  • My freezer is starting to get a bit full from all these Coles $60 shops … will take their 5k Velocity points though.

    • +1

I buy tins of tuna, tomatoes, rice and pasta for my dog's food when I get a $50 one, it's a pain cause they are all heavy items.

    • +1

Sheesh, that would be nice, $60 probably doesnt even cover milk for a family of 5 today

Probably why we never get offers any more of any kind, because we already give to much

      • Joys of being single and only eating meat, veg and fruit I guess ;)

  • -6

Keep more in your pocket if you spend for 4 weeks elsewhere. Newest Colesworth reward programs called BuyNay and Crapwards.

Earn as much DollarCents™ you want by shopping elsewhere. Reminder, 100 DollarCents™ are worth $1. Now start your Colesworth monthly worth now!

    • No minimum spend required. Offer available for an unlimited time only.
    • Shop somewhere else, better quality and cheaper.
Don’t make shopping decisions based on points.
The overspend and the markup costs you more as it drives inflation which stifles competition. Which in turn raises interest rates, mortgage repayments and rent.

  • +3

I'd rather they just lowest the price of their goods by 5%.

    • +2

Agreed. At first I thought it was awesome, but now I'm thinking, where is this money coming from? How are they giving me "free" money. Starting to get tired of these games I need to play to get a fair deal on groceries.

  • +1

I got 200 bonus points on a pouch of really terrible olives I left a scathing review on after they gave me a free sample a couple of years ago

    Yay

    • Oh I got those, they are still unopened in my fridge haha.

  • Nothing from Coles but 3k for 2x$50 at woollies for me. Would have to be 5k to match this, but it’s easier to hit esp for small households.

    • Spoke too soon, a wild offer appeared! Pink salmon cans, here I come! I’ve also been getting the Coles 10L mineral water, works well on hot days with soda stream.

  • got the 10k bonus points for $50 shop a coles each week, OR, $50 off my shop (loaded onto flybuys card) when I do a $50 shop at coles each week… this offer is confusing me I need to read a bit more

I get it now, have to spend $50 each week for 4 weeks to get the bonus points/money. I don't have very good reading comprehension.

    • +3

You can activate the 10,000 points offer OR $50 off a shop. Same value if you always use your points at Coles. Ours always goto Velocity, cant beat a cheap business class seat to Singapore!

      • The house Always Win$$$$$

        • Haha, not playing against me!

    • Always go for the points. See comment by macola51 below.

  • +2

Don't forget your Westpac card https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/831035

    • only if you were targeted….we weren't unfortunately

  • +1

I got 10,000 points for $50 spend for 4 weeks. This has been my best offer in years. I have been spending a lot less and mostly shopping at Woolies lately.

    • I have been spending a lot less and mostly shopping at Woolies lately.

That is why. You can achieve the same thing by juggling a few accounts. This is my normal offer for several years (except when I purchased GCs)

  • bloody hell, nothing for either mine or my husband's this time. Was waiting for it again. I'll check again later just in case, but nothing showing yet

  • Cheers -got the $50 spend for 4 weeks

  • I didn’t get it. Just had this exact one in Jan and finished two weeks ago. I’m guessing they don’t give it to you back to back like that.

    • +1

I got back to back $50 spends

    • I normally do get back to back, but this time zip for both our accounts. Only time I didn't before this was end of 2022 when I bought a whole lot of $100 gift cards and needed to scan my FB card to get the bonus points for it….stuffed me up for about 4 or 5 months

    • +1

I was getting back to back ones where there was a single $50 shop with bonus points that overlapped the first week by 1 day, so two birds with one $50 stone.

      • Yes, I used to do that regularly. There is a lot less ability to do that recently.

  • can you just buy giftcards?

    • +2

      Nope

    • +1

That would be too easy haha.

  • Note first week starts tomorrow (Friday 1 march) and runs for 10 days!

    • First week starts once you activate the promotion

      • +5

That’s not correct. Once I activated and spent on Thursday and it didn’t count toward the offer. It is usually starts from Friday and they give 10 days for 1st week spend

  • +2

We completed the recent 4 X $50 offer a couple/few weeks back. At the start when activating the offer, I chose the $50 into my account, rather than the 10k points. Once chosen, selection can't be changed. In hindsight, I think the points is the better choice because you can trade them for gift cards from other retailers (eg. Bunnings), which last at least 3 years.
Under the T&C for the $50 option, I had to spend a minimum $50.05 within 30 days of the $50 being credited to my account, and the 30 days commences from the day it's credited. Problem was, there's no way to check whether the $50 is there!
So if you go the option for $50 credit to your account, don't forget to spend the minimum required within that 30 day period.

    • +1

wow that sucks. the $50 expires in 30 days?

I prefer just collecting points and converting to flybuys cash. that way you can use it wherever you want coles, officeworks etc and don't need to plan ahead and be stuck with credit you can use at one shop but not the other.

family member encountered something weird at bunnings btw. they are part of the flybuys program and you can scan and collect points. but at the (human) register they were told they can't pay with flybuys cash. very weird. the explanation was "our system/machines don't support it". so in the case of bunnings maybe it is smarter to convert points to giftcards if you shop there a lot.

    • +1

Points is better. If you get $50, it can appear when you don’t want it to, and get automatically deducted off an online shop when they process a payment.

Then your spend X over four weeks is screwed as you are $50 short on one of the shops and you have to spend X again.

      Source: happened to me

    • +1

You can also just convert the 10000 pts to $50 Coles spend later on, the points are the best option

  • unused account got $60 x4, nothing for the active.

  • My offer was 4 x $70 this time. Didn't think I would be targeted given I had 4 x $60 back in Jan/Feb (which I used). Hadn't shopped at Coles since the previous offer, so guessing they are throwing another offer at me to get me to shop again.

  • I got 100 points on a tin of tuna.

  • 3000 points for one $160 spend or 1500 points for one $120 spend

  • +1

    TippingPoint ColesWorth style….

  • +3

After a month of no shop no show, I get it down back to $50 week lol.

    • +1

      This is the way

  • I've had flybuys for years and I have never been targeted for one of these offers. Is there some kind of opt-in I've missed? Or am I just cursed?

  • is this 15% off Celebration GC deal coming back? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/805828

  • $170/$220 for 10,000/20,000 points or $50/$100.

    Damn you Mastercard purchases.

    • Me too. Bah

  • Was $50x4, completed that. A week later became $60x4, completed that and then a week later got this latest offer at $70x4. So obvious what they’re doing there.

Probably should draw a line there and say no more and hope the algos will reduce it next time around.

    • +1

That’s when you swap to a second flybuys account….

      • Currently have 3 flybuys account combined. Should I separate them out? Will that work? Or apply a new one but probably details might be duplicated?

        • Get new ones. You will need a mobile number for each. If you have to make up any details make sure you keep a record.

  • 2 accounts $50 and 1 account $60, easy 30,000 pts for $640 of groceries! 😄

    • +1

Yeah but this is like the drug to help everyone to forget and accept the major price hike.

      • I was going to spend more before these offers anyway, these offers actually make us only spend the required amount so it saves us money overall 🤷 obvs the prices are still stupid but the points can be used for really good value velocity redemptions which is a very good deal to me

      • Or……it can be revenge. Stack it with discounted gift cards and buy specials that have longish shelf lives.
        Ahhhh!…..the joy of 'stacking'

  • I had one of those offers. The fourth qualifying shop was on 18 February, the last day of the fourth period. I didn't receive the bonus voucher

    • You need to call or email them. I have always received the points when I provided receipts and proof of activation.

  • Hoping someone has experienced this.

I made an online order (first time thanks to the coles plus offer).

The order I made is just above $50, but an item is unavailable, pushing me 3 bucks under my spend now, will this count to not count as meeting spend for the week?

    • +1

I have had this happen many times. You need to continue with the other 3 weeks. Make sure you have all receipts. I also keep an SC of activation. You will not get the points automatically and need to contact them by phone or email. The latter is what I do and I attach all the documentation. I have always received points from over a dozen claims.
      [email protected]

      • Thanks! Sounds like a pain!

The odd thing is my online invoice says congratulations for meeting first weeks spend! Even though it’s just under $50…

        • That's great then sounds like it may work. Just check you receive the points.

        • More than likely you will get the same notification when you do week 2. If that’s the case, no need to even contact them.

      • no need to email, just call them - they told me that they know that online orders can be only partially fulfilled, so if that’s the reason for just $30 being spent instead of $50, then they’ll count that week’s target as being met, with no documentation required :)

  • Do you think this would work if I paid in gift card? I assume it would be fine, can't find anything in the T&Cs that say you can't.
