Good for anyone with solar panels or anyone looking to monitor their own power consumption. It's the cheapest meter I could find that integrates well with Home Assistant.

Amazon Germany have a save 10% promotion for 3x and stacks with an additional 5% promo for 2x on the product too. Should be more accurate the other impulse led meters such as Powerpal. Would require an additional fee electrician installation in your distribution board though.

3x $130.48 — unobtainable and removed from title, the correct price is 3 for $384 (Mod)

  • 10A limit for switching, lights only if you wish to use it as a switch.

Being wifi/ethernet/electrical, is there a RCM c-tick approval for this?

The OZSmartThings Shelly 3EM points to the following cert which is the "Pro" version

      Shelly Pro 3EM Cert

      • I've been unable to find the 3EM certificate either.
        Only the 3EM PRO

    • why lights only?
10A is over 2kW, that's a huge bundle of LEDs

Probably means for a complete light circuit if you place this device in your circuit board.

      • +1

At the distribution board, lighting circuits are usually 8A and GPOs 16A. This switches 10A.

Can it be used for 16A? Probably as not many people close to the 16A, but in the event you do, it may cause issues. A 2400W heater and aux appliances will quickly go over 10A

        • thanks.

For simple monitoring with HA support: I use a $75 Shelly-EM (https://www.smarthome.com.au/product/shelly-em-wi-fi-energy-…) for my monitoring at home in our apartment. It integrates perfectly with Home Assistant and can monitor two channels - so I can monitor our off peak hot water system as well.

  • Am I missing something, but I use the tapo or meross ones for sub $20… Both work with HA
    🤔

    • If you only need to flick on and off your bed lamp, yes. This is for something of a grandeur scheme.

      • I mean both brands have energy monitoring units, which connect to HA, and so switching

    • This is for measuring 3 phase power consumption but also has a 10A relay for switching. More for measuring complete household power consumption or maybe a 3 phase airconditioner vs just individual eletrical appliances in your house.

  • Do these provide output once per minute to Home Assistant or is it quicker?

    • Seconds or milliseconds, it's all very versatile and configurable.

  • Anyone in Melbourne willing to share the 3 pack?

  • Price dropped to $124
