  • Do you need wireless adapter for pc?

    • +9

      Just Bluetooth or wired.

      • Thanks

    • if you don't want low latency then yes you need the wifi adapter for pc, if you like latency in games with bluetooth then no. I always buy the offical rechargeable battery pack for the xbox controllers with he pc wifi usb dongle. its great to just plug in the usb c port and it just charges.

      • Finding a real wireless adaptor for their controllers can be a pain in the ass they only pair them with a controller they no longer sell them on their own. As for bluetooth it works better on windows 11 than 10

        • use the Microsoft official wireless adaptor its made for the xbox controller

          • @kungfuman: That one talking about good luck finding a store selling the OEM one. You can only seemly get one if it's paired with a black controller. There are barely any on Used markets then got fakes from China. Edit even checked the Xbox site they don't even sell it on its own, That being said they used to sell it for $30 new now paired with a controller. I want to upgrade my white and gray camo 1708 and hand both USB and controller down to bothers (keeps stealing it lol). Also had Bluetooth issues picking it up on Windows 11 like other people.

            • @mobbie1996: I bought mine from eb games last year

              • @kungfuman: yeah, a year plus ago now also no longer on there. Multiple posts in talk of it being discontinued (more like locking people into a controller color they don't want. Found two lists for OME both on Amazon au $141 (lol) and older one (fat one) $76

    • You don't need the wireless adaptor, but from the reviews of people using Bluetooth, they can have a lot of intermittent dropouts

      • That's true. My controller is a NS Pro, while connected via BT I cannot use Bose earphones at the same time.

        • +2

i think that might be a limitation with your Bluetooth adapter in your pc/ laptop

          • @vanyellow: Tried with 2 different laptops, the same result. All used integrated BT, no adapter.

            • @whjheu: yep on Windows 11 so better Bluetooth on a B650 Strix a with Bluetooth v5.2 on controller sku 1708 had huge import lag

      • i like no latency wireless so the wireless adapter is a must.

If you use these hard enough it's worth buying from a physical store where you can get an easy warranty replacement. I own the Elite Controller and I'm on my fourth in 18 months.

    • Agreed, I've got through a few of these in a year and swapped them at JB. I'm thinking of making the switch to 8bitdo for my next PC controller

    • I agree but I assure you, M$ will warrant them.

Thumbsticks and triggers get destroyed by me (because I play FIFA).

      • +1

They even send TNT (in my case last week anyways) to your house to collect the item for overnight delivery to Sydney. Sent a faulty controller last Monday from Perth and had the new one back on the Friday.

        • Yep. Extremely reliable and fast turnaround.

        • Is this purchased through MS or just contacting them within the warranty period?

          • +5

@bargainhunter: Don't even need to contact them, once you first play with the controller while signed into your account it will pop up on https://account.microsoft.com/devices (or you can use the serial number) with 2 years of warranty and you can submit it for repair in a few clicks. Few hours later you'll get the link to lodge it with a courier/Australia Post and away it goes.

This has been for controllers I've purchased anywhere (JB, HN, Good Guys, Amazon and even added a couple second hand ones that still had warranty remaining) if Mobileciti are legit sellers and the controller hasn't been used already it will work just fine.

    • If you don't mind tethering with a cable then consider the Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma as an alternative. I've had friends who've similarly gone through multiple Elite controllers, whereas I've been using Razer controllers since about late 2018 or so. I started with the original Wolverine Ultimate which has since been gifted to a friend and, as far as I know, is still going strong. I've upgraded to the V2 Chroma in the interim and it's been similarly really good.

      • I play Rocket League competitively and I started with an OG Xbone controller. My mate gifted me his old Wolverine and I tried using it but the sticks just don't feel right. Definitely is a nice controller though, solid recommend for anyone starting out.

        • Controllers can be a very personal experience so it”s not something you can tell another which is better. The only way to really know is try different types till you find the one that fits best.

  • Does anyone find the joystick bit hard/rough?
I play eafc for extended period and my thumb felt bit sore. Anything to remediate?

    • Teach yourself to loosen your grip and you'll play better and this wont be a problem.

I think there's thumbstick caps you can but (but they slip and feel pretty ordinary) or you could just swap out the sticks.

  • Tempted to get the Elite Core at this price.. I bought SCUF paddles for my Halo Elite controller so I have spare paddles. Should I pull the trigger?

    • +5

No, you press down on them

      • If I adjust the thing on the back then it's a much faster push

    • +1

Nah, there’s new controllers to be released soon. Also, the current elite controllers are poor quality according to those who own them.

      • +1

Had zero issues with the Halo one, but waiting for the next standard Xbox controller sounds good.

  • will this allow me to do 10 electrics in a row??

  • Can someone, with a straight face, tell me the Elite Series is worth 3 times the regular controller?

    • -1

The elite series halo controller is worth 8-10 times a regular controller

    • Of course it is worth it (I am a Micro$oft shareholder). Buy it.

    • Diminishing returns. I used to play Rocket League a couple hours a day competitively. It's definitely better than a standard Xbone controller and it feels nice. You can tune the resistance of the sticks and the triggers are definitely a bit nicer to use. And if you need the paddles, then yeah it's worth it for sure.

But if you don't really play a lot of games, then probably no. It's like how some people spend $500 on an office chair. It's probably not 10x better than a standard office chair but if you spend a lot of your day using it, then it's worth it.

  • thx, bought the red

  • Bought and can confirm it's real. Arrived in 2 days. Box looked like it had been opened and bit of dust but for $60 with free delivery there's nothing else i can complain about
