  • Rep- any deals for surface?

    • +4

Not at this stage maybe in another month

      • Keep us posted 🙏

        • Yeah, definitely the most requested.

      • Hi Rep any ETA for a surface pro deal 😊

  • Hey Cal, I'm looking for a touchscreen or 2-in-1, smaller form factor (so max 14") Windows machine, under $600. Anything going?

  • Does this support the E-port dock?

    • +2

No mate - only type C these days.

      • Thanks.

  • Any deals on something with a little more grunt?

  • +1

    Backlit keyboard?

  • These can be charged via USB-C, no?

    • +1

      yep

Should probably say if you want a cheap upgrade to 32Gb ram you can order the below as well

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/182649737139

    • That is an upgrade from 8GB to 16GB.

      • The units already have 16Gb Ram.

        • Upgrade to 16Gb Ram
          DESCRIPTION
          UPGRADE FEATURE ONLY

Purchase this item to upgrade your order from 8Gb Ram too 16Gb Ram only

If I'm not mistaken, 16-8 = 8 additional gigabytes, making the computer you're selling have a total of 24GB if the upgrade is purchased.
          (16+8 = 24)

          • +1

@DogeConomy: Anyway. if you follow the instruction and purchase them at the same time, you'll receive a upgrade to 32Gb ram.

    • @Calmago - oh crap I didn't see this. I guess it's too late to order it at this price now? (typing on the laptop now actually, and so far it's really good!)

      • Yeah mate, needs to be done at time of order. Glad to hear all is good :)

        • dumb question, but do you mind telling me what RAM type I need to order?

  • Would be interested in a clear out of either 5400 or 5300, 15" too big for my taste

    • +1

      That's what she said

      • get out!!!

        • Not get in (to a room?)

  • +1

Guessing this would make an excellent laptop for an older person, browsing the web and occasional documents.

    • +1

Yep, finally upgrading my others 11 year old laptop 🤣

    • +12

It would be fine for anyone who doesn't need 3D gaming or extended battery use.

Why do people keep making these "older person" comments? If somebody mentions a 5yo Honda, do you say "that's a nice car for an old person who just drives to church on Sundays"?

If you have an old person who does not understand computerers, better to get them a Chromebook or an iPad.

      • Almost, yes - and automatic cars are great for people missing limbs, those with no coordination, and the people who enjoy various types of multitasking while driving.

I drove an auto i20 briefly, which was certainly more sluggish than even I had expected, plus the steering was so light / over-assisted that I imagine one could easily work it with frail elderly arms. I haven't tried a 5yo Honda lately so I couldn't tell you about that specifically.

  • Do they have fingerprint scanner?

    • Negative

  • @Calmago - how many in stock do you have left?

    • Only about 70 units left now. Nearly all are gone.

Does the B grade only apply because of battery, or are there screen defects etc as well?

    • +4

Would like to know this as well. Any other issues that make it categorised as Grade B apart from battery health?

    • +1

Hey mate, I can't comment on all the stock, they won't have any screen defects such as lines etc. but please refer to the condition description. These aren't advertised as refurb models as they don't meet the A-grade criteria for various factors.

      • thanks, I bought one anyway, I'll cross my fingers :)

  • +1

where can I buy a good replacement battery for this?

  • @Calmago - OP, any deals for A grade?

    • +3

Not for notebooks at this stage maybe. We have some really, really good stuff coming through but the main issue is keyboard impressions on the screen. It seems to be a design fault across the board on all ultrabook and 2 in 1 devices. I'm talking thousands of units. It turns it into a B grade because of that defect.

Will look at another micro drop by the end of the month or promo period.

  • Does it come with a charger

    • +3

      Whats Included

      Laptop
      Power Adapter

  • +3

"Products may have a faulty USB Port" means maximum one of the four USB ports?

    • Knowing my luck it will be the one that charges the unit :)

  • How to see the product description?

I am using the eBay app and cannot find the product description details.

    • “Products are tested, and confirmed to be 100% fully functional. I bought three computers from you guys on one of your old deals to run our new business and then two weeks later someone from there bought from us, it was so cool.

They're in phenomenal condition and the deal was unbelievable.
    Highly recommend.

    • Awsome mate great to hear.

  • Are they Thunderbolt or USB-C? Unclear from eBay listing.

  • Backlit keyboard?

  • I'm interested, but just wondering if the bios lock is going to cause me any issues? Does this mean I can't update the bios to the latest version?

  • Got a notification today for lappy being shipped.

    • +2

Yep all stock was shipped today.

      • wow that's good on you guys. Wondering how many laptops were ordered yesterday considering the clicks being closed to 2565? :)

        • Doubt it will be anywhere near that number.

        • +1

Received my laptop on Monday. Perfect condition, not a mark on it and haven't charged it since the initial charge on Monday.

    Very happy with purchase.

  • Very happy with mine thanks OP - the battery is dying but I fully expected and have an Ali special on the way to replace.

  • Very happy with mine so far, spent last night trying to find a fault :)

96% health, 2620hrs power on hrs on the SSD according to crystaldiskinfo.
BIOS reports battery as 'excellent', not sure what that actually means but its been running for a couple hours and still at 70%.
Screen has no scratches, couple of minor ones on outer case.
All USB ports work, etherernet connector hinged bit is still there.
Keyboard is a bit crap but I'd say it likely always was from new.

  • I cannot figure out on how to turn on backlight on keyboard. Internet says it should do it, but I suspect it's not the case?

    Anybody?

    • I don't think it has this option, the function key that should work at F5 is empty on mine

      • Yeah, shame. I like the dark.

        • Me too
