  • If we don't have a Velocity account, will we get Citi point instead or we have to link a Velocity account?

    • +1

The way the offer is worded implies you have to link it to a Velocity account for the points to be credited and converted to Velocity i.e. you appear to have no way to leave it as standard Citi Rewards points

      • Got points in Citi points and didn't get email to register for Velocity. Points can be transferred to other partner as normal points.

  • +1

    Just got approved. Thanks

  • +1

Applied for this last night and got approved this morning although had to call them (probably shouldnt but meh) to double check the PayAll charge as my email mentioned 2% fee when their own website says 0.95% and they confirmed it was the latter.

Let the points earning begin (aim is to get enough for a Euro holiday next year although there's always the option of buying LifeMiles points and redeeming them).

  • If I apply for this card, do the minimum spend and receive the bonus points - will I then be able to apply for a prestige card immediately after and still get the bonus points associated with the prestige card? Basically will getting this card exclude me from getting other Citi cards in the future and their associated bonus sign up points? Thanks

    • +1

If you read their T&C's, no such exclusion. Matter fact you can even get both at same time if got approved.

  • Got declined. Probably because I just got Prestige card recently?

    • I have the prestige for over a year now, and got approved.
Next time apply to both at the same time, not one after the other

      • I see.. thanks for the info.
Will probably have to cancel my prestige first before applying premier then

  • just got approved - so now i have premier alongside the citibank free for life 'rewards' card.

Anyone asked Citi already to ensure we don't get disqualified from bonuses? the T&Cs say new 'citi premier' customers only so im thinking its ok.

  • got declined, called and asked for manual re-assessment and approved next day

    • Never knew you could do this. Good to know!

    • I have never heard of this before. Was there a mistake on your initial application? What was the deciding factor when it came to them approving your app the second time around?

  • Is it possible to retain the 220000 citi credit points and not convert them to velocity, by any chance

    • +2

It was issued as normal citi points for me. No need to convert to velocity.

  • Anyone know if we can take advantage of below offer and get extra 15% points via manual transfer ?

    https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/partners-offers/transf…

    • I'm planning to do it by turning off the autosweep. Worst case scenario they give me the normal 100k points instead but with the Velocity offer I'd still be on top by getting an extra 15k points instead of 10k points.

  • is this a better deal: https://www1.citibank.com.au/credit-cards?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI…

150,000 points, im assuming you can transfer to velocity?

    • This is better on a points per dollar value basis but I still went with pointhacks offer as I am happy enough with the value. If you’re happy to slowly accumulate than the one you posted is better value wise

  • Is Qantas Points better then Velocity?

Obviously Visa/Mastercard are more widely accepted but what about Amex, have you run into issues?

    • Its not about what is better, it is about what is more useful for you.
