Xiaomi Mijia Air Compressor 2 Portable US$26.21 (~A$41.47) Delivered @ Cutesliving Store AliExpress

350

Is it the lowest price ever? You'll probably get it cheaper if you create a new account. Just so you know, this is the Air Compressor 2, not the cheaper 1 or 1S.

I'm not sure about the store, but it received many seemingly genuine reviews.

  • What is the attraction of these? A track pump is much faster, and costs no more.

    • Also I want to see someone actually fill a car tyre, the full size battery ones can struggle and overheat. I can imagine this thing will die for anything beyond a tiny top up.

      • +1

I bought one of the gen 2, it did a car tyre from 20 psi to 34 without missing a beat. It also checks the air pressure. Took a few minutes but it's easier to do that than head to the petrol station or use a manual pump (which would cost around $15 anyway).

      • Yup filled my fronts the other day 30 to 38 psi no issues. Maybe up to 1 minute for each tyre. Tube got a little hot near the connection to the unit.

      • I can't say I've tried to fill a completely flat car tyre (in 30 years of driving, I have never had a need to do that), but I do use mine regularly to top up my car tyres, and it does that very well. No problems with the battery and the only part that gets hot is the valve where it connects but it does that even when inflating bike tyres and air mattresses (presumably due to the friction generated by the air moving through the valve).

      • I've got the Bosch portable pump and I was able to pump my car tyre from 8 PSI to around 35 PSI. Drained 3/4 of the battery and it took 15 minutes, but it successfully completed the task with ease. Granted, I wouldn't suggest that to be a general use case for buying it, but the Bosch was definitely capable of doing so.

    • +2
      • Top up maintenance of car tyres including before any road trips
      • Cold too ups versus doing it at a petrol where the tyres are warm and variable and also where the station unit may be damaged, inaccurate or unavailable
      • Multi purpose for other items such as bicycles
      • Portability ie small enough for backpack, motorcycle box, etc
      • Easy to use

      Basically an alternate option.

    • +3

But that takes manual effort. A lot of effort. This is much easier to do.

    • Have you used one or are you asking? Because a track pump is not much faster.

    • Mine is definitely faster than my track pump and also takes a lot less effort. It can move a lot of air very quickly and is small enough to throw in a small backpack.

    • This is cheaper than a floor standing bike pump, and a damn sight faster and easier than a hand pump for road bikes.

Someone gave me one of these pumps as a gift. I was a bit sceptical as first, but it's great to be able to check car tyres without going to a petrol station. And it's great for bike tyres (though I still pull out the floor pump for MTB tyres).

  • Anyone used these on road bike tyres? Wondering if it can handle the high pressure.

    • +2

Yep. Works quite well. I only took mine up to about 85 PSI, but I'm sure it will do more than that. I don't use it all time, more just if I'm feeling lazy. Great little gadget tho

    • +1

My road bikes go to 110psi which my old machine like this doesn't do. Plus, it's the skinny valve while mine has the fat valve (for cars and my bikes).

This could be a potential upgrade.

    • You can lose a lot of pressure (in a low air volume tyre) just in undoing the hose (if it's a screw on one, but this might have a clip on one). You might need to overinflated, then check the pressure again so you can learn how much to allow for in over inflating to end up where you want it.

I've honestly never come across this problem with this pump and presta valves.

        • I have with car valves (can't spell Schrader)

    • Works great on my motorbike. Did not work on my road bike with presta valves, maybe a dodgy adaptor.

I also have both 1S and 2. The 2 is definitely faster than 1S, but the build quality is not as good, at least mine wasn't.

  • Mine stopped working after 6-8 months. Used for my bike, which take 75psi. Worked well until it didn't.

  • Haven’t purchased much of aliexpress.
Can I confirm if there are hidden charges?

Clicking the link and select the version 2 shows $30.79.
    I assume gst added after?

    • +1

GST is added during the checkout, and you want to pay in USD, as their AUD conversion rate is bad.

  • Oos now

  • Saw this, thought I would share.
