It has been a while since I saw a PS5 offer. This one is the slim disc model and the trade-in value is really good in my experience.
They have a similar offer on Switch, but I am not a switch player so can't guage how good it is.

Umm, how about they instead list these T&Cs instead of wasting everyone's time? For all you know the 4 games don't even meet this deal's eligibility requirements.

They have offered better upgrade ones in the past that equated to the higher paid listings on FB marketplace with the added benefit of not having to deal with any buyers.
I have always wondered who goes to EB games , biggest rip offs in the industry. I have concluded it's uneducated bogans or nerds buying pop vinyls.
The model repies upon getting visibility in high traffic areas - can only be achieved through expensive bricks and mortar shopfronts in shopping centres. This creates a high fixed cost base that made sense in the past before amazon etc made shopping online so much easier…….and just as fast.
Agree. They have the most bizarre price-match policy as well. They don’t match bundles and the competitor must be located within the shopping centre.

Very hard to sell a PS4 for $200-250. They are for sale but those sold where way lower than this. Just check the sold units. And don't forget to calculate the 15% from eBay and shipping if you are paying for it.

Wait, am I missing something here? A brand new PS4 Slim is worth $429 @ Big W but they'll take it off you plus $499 for a PS5 Slim? Considering a brand new PS5 Slim can be had for a little over $600 with eBay Plus, they're basically saying your PS4 Slim is worth a little over $100 lol (not even taking into account the games). If the price of a new console goes up, so does the used price. The fact is, if you can get more for it privately, why would you give it to these thieves.

I understand that most people like to $hit on EB, but they’re giving $225 credit (+your EB World level) for a ps4 slim, the games can be shitty ones.
There will be a lot of people saying that they “just sold” their PS4’s for $300 on FB.
But people’s champ JB Hi-Fi only gives $20 store credit for an used PS4 slim and other stores like CeX only gives $121 credit or $77 cash.
This is phenomenal for any person wanting to get rid of their PS4.
If your focus is the least out-of-pocket cash to get PS5 before the school holidays, then this is the best offer on the market. I've been waiting for this offer for a mate of mine since December 2023 when they had a comparable offer (for the non-slim version).
We can argue it is not the best value for money for sure :)
The price offered is average, but this is just somewhat part and parcel to the pawnbroking industry. I had a decent stint in the biz - buy for quarter retail and sell for half was the usual method. If you can be bothered selling it privately go for it, but EB are offering a guaranteed outlet to offload your archaic tech that for most people would be largely worthless. And plenty take them up on it!
