  • Would any of these ones be Ok @mapax?

I’ve never used either, but they should be ok for diy work. You will likely need to wait every few minutes for the tank to refill bid trying to do a lot of work. The reviews look ok.
I’ve mostly gone cordless these days and only use the air comp on the rare occasion I need to reseat tyres or use an air hammer.

These are great. Mines been a trooper and even manages enough air for paint.

    @DashCam AKA Rolts

    These make scents. Cheers

  • Thanks ended up getting the Stanley for $240 - https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/stanley-stanley-air-comp…

Blew my other one up few weeks back so only need a cheapie replacement to pump tyres up etc.

    • Hopefully that one's not too loud

I tried to find noise levels and realised if they don't specify, it's usually not great

The Stanley 50L Silenced version is regularly on sale for $399-449

Yeah not too fussed I live on a farm so no neighbours thankfully.

Just be for the once off tyres for bikes/tractors probably won't even see an hour use in a year. I'd rather Stanley over Blackridge from past experience but some have lucked with them and same with Stanley.

The tank blew up? That could be a pretty fatal experience.

  • I had a belt driven Blackridge years ago and it was great for the small amount I used it. I bought an accessories kit to go with it, mostly to get the better nozzle, I ended up giving away all the air-wrench tools.

Why is this a deal, the deal is already posted, the whole of sca has a sale

For this to be usable, have to buy the air hose and some other air tools? I assume so as the description says nothing about the package including the size. (really annoying)

The air hose and air tool kits would cost another $100.

    • Here's your starter Kit

      https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/blackridge-blackridge-ai…

      $24.00 - build from there

      cheers

      • Unlucky I missed out.

I visited the store in the evening and learnt that most air tools need 135LPM and above which surprised me as I had prepared to place an order for a 70LPM compressor ealier. The staff suggested a 150LPM compressor. Same applied to those tools in the kit each comes with different LPM. The description doesn't list them all. Of course, not an issue if you have a >150LPM compressor.

I'd start from the starter kit as you suggested if I still had the chance. By the end of the day I'm still happy as I learnt something prepared for the next deal.

  • I got a Stanley compressor at SCA today - $240 from $480.

    Let's see how it goes.

Used it yesterday, seemed good enough for the price. Made it better when saw it in costco for 649 yesterday, had a chuckle as a guy was looking into it, went over and said check out sca there only 240 if you can find local stock.
