The Gooloo GP2000 was popular at this price in February, should be sufficient to jump start most engines.
Great price on the GP3000 and GT3000 too.

The previous thread from Feb details the differences between models and has a lot of good info.

Which one is best to use on a Tesla ?

    • +1

      GP-BYD

    • +1

A Tesla Tower is best, otherwise a 12v battery and some alligator clips…

    • hybrids are better built in chargers

  • Does anyone know which one works with a stop-start battery? I have a GP2000, But it doesn't work with my stop-start battery.

    • +2

It should work just fine, but you probably need to turn off stop start to allow the alternator to charge the battery once you start the engine. Give it at least a 30 minute drive. Alternatively, you need to put the battery on a trickle charge until it's at capacity. Failing that, it's time for a new battery.

    • Stopstart batteries are usually just calcium-calcium VRLA batteries; these should work fine.

They do on 2019 Mazdas at least, I can confirm that from a CX3.

    • I've got a GT1500 that works perfectly fine on my stop/start (AGM) battery. There's no reason the GP2000 shouldn't though unless there's something on the car itself that is preventing it from engaging.

Does the GP2000 beep when you try to crank the engine with it connected?

  • Could someone explain like I'm 5? I was in the car with the engine off and played music but then the engine wouldn't start.

Thankfully I found someone nearby who jumpstarted my Honda Civic 2011 model.

Is this tool somethat can be used to do that? And what's the difference between these and what people used to do with attaching a cable between two cars?

What do I need to google to learn?

Is this tool somethat can be used to do that?

      100%

What do I need to google to learn?

The instruction manual shows you how to connect it.

It is as easy as jump starting…

what's the difference between these and what people used to do with attaching a cable between two cars?

This is a battery with the cables connected…. You don't need another car to jumpstart.
Just connect this device to you car battery (as per instructions) and then start your engine.

    • +3

It jumpstarts the engine without the need for a 2nd vehicle by getting power from the battery in the device. You could jump it yourself in future without anyone else, you just hook this up.

It is very handy to keep in the car as long as you keep it charged and try to keep it somewhere cool, battery packs like this can get ruined by extreme heat. It even has usb on it so you can even charge your phone etc.

      • Thank you, what do I need to google to check if my car battery is compatible with these?

        • Your Honda Civic is fine with these…

        • There's nothing unusual about your civic, it's compatible and when connected will start it instantly. The key thing is running the vehicle afterwards to allow the alternator to recharge the cars battery.
As for the comment about keeping the gooloo charged, while valid, specifically you need to cycle the gooloo battery, meaning discharge and recharge cycle every 3-6 months.

          • @ohgee:

specifically you need to cycle the gooloo battery

            no you don't

        • Sounds like you drained the battery by either leaving the key turned in the ignition position rather than just accessories, or the battery is about to give up the ghost and needs replacing.

    • +1

Worth note, if its a standard stereo, and less than several hours of music, your battery is down on capacity and due replacement.

I have a full aftermarket amplified system in an Integra, with a battery half the size of whats recommended, and 4+hours of music doesnt even drop me below 12.1v.

never heard of this with a good battery, I mean even in my dad's diesel converted Corolla KE50 :D

      • They probably had fan and aircon at the same time. At least that's how it happened for me.

        • probably blower only, aircon compressor is rotated by engine

I quickly describe it to your even if you are 4 years old.
cable between 2 cars is using the other cars good running charged battery to jump start your flat battery in your car
    OR
by buying the gooloo jump starter you are using this to jump start your car flat battery., starting your engine
    DIFFERENCE WITH THE GOOLOO
its portable - no need for other cars or other cables or other help
its small compact lithium battery power pack jump starter, powerful to start your car, being very convenient
it can be used to power other items or charge them, like phones laptops etc ideal for off and road camping use
the gooloo can be recharged by your cigarette lighter if required.

I had a random parent at school who was desperate and I helped that driver jumped his car. He was lucky to have me to help. Not everyone that helpful. I just got one as a back up in case car stops at a place noone near by. Might as well get this rather than waiting for roadside assistance
NRMA battery is darn expensive it's $430 for a sedan. Might as well jump yourself and get replaced elsewhere eg. Battery world or mechanic

Good thing with the Gooloo is it has a boost feature that will start a completely flat battery. It can even start a car with no battery (see the Project Farm test on YouTube). I have a different model that doesn’t have the boost feature and my battery voltage was too low to jump start. Had to get my wife to bring her car + jumper cables to jump start. Contemplating swapping my shitty model with a GT3000 but have recently replaced that dying battery so might not be of much use for now.

    • It can even start a car with no battery (see the Project Farm test on YouTube).

      Lol what?

      • +1

Not sure which part you don't understand but I'll try to help.

It can start a car with no battery (it takes place of the battery).

Project farm is a YouTube channel, he referenced it so you can see it start a car without a battery.

  • I have $10 voucher code, but can't use both codes..

Thanks OP I wear them out quickly and picked up a few more.

  • This or the Kings one for $69?

    • Kings is 1000 amp, these are 2000, 3000 and 4000 amp.

  • +1

I've had the 3000 for over a year. It works really well for a flat battery and charging the laptop or phones, but it wont start a Landcruiser from dead flat. I used someone elses ITECH branded one and that did start it from dead flat. Was a bit disappointed with that.

    • Did you try pressing the boost button then starting it?

      • Tried everything, including sanding the terminals a bit.

        • That's disappointing, I just bought one for my mother's 2L 4 cylinder but I'm sure it will be enough for that.

  • How does Gooloo compare to the Noco brand jump starters?

    • Noco is a more premium brand but if the given output clams are legitimate on both.

      Noco GB150 (3000 amp) $479
      Gooloo GP3000 (3000 amp) $89

  • Already have a GT3000 and love it. It has saved me on so many occasions (was unlucky enough to have 2 cars with bad batteries that I ended up changing, but also when I forget to turn off an interior light, etc.). It's also really great as a power bank, especially because it charges so quickly. Out of an abundance of caution after previous experience with bad batteries, we decided to get another so I'm really glad to see another deal on these. Bought the GT4000 with case this time - probably won't need the extra power, but good to future-proof. Highly highly recommend!
