  • This is a surprisingly good price, I got one for $6.25 in 2022.

  • Yes, these are great!

    • Yep, love mine.

  • Oh, i will get some, they are good to use!

  • +3
  • I got one and found it covers your hand in oil. I've gone back to using spray cans of oil. Maybe I just had a bad one.

    • +3

I had one of the old ones with a plastic bag thing in it and it was great. Got one of these new ones and I find the same issue as you Willyeckerslike

      • Agree, the old style worked much better.

      • yep I have had one of those ones for years and still going well!

    • +1

Don’t go back, I use one of these and they work well

      https://amzn.asia/d/52aGUx5

      • Thanks will check it out.

        • I bought it from House I think though and not on Amazon.

      • +1

I got this from temu for like less than $5

        • Yeah they are pretty cheap, think House has them reduced to $12 or something but it’s still working well

    • I find they get sticky, hard to clean. So oil does kind of go everywhere. It's manageable though.

  • Thanks OP this will be perfect teamed with a lighter to scare off Barbara from a couple of doors up when she sneaks onto my front porch to steal my dream catchers

  • -4

Shit quality, will break in a few months and start spraying a straight line

    • +4

When did you purchase yours? Was it way back when it had a internal bladder? Because the new design is great, ours has been going strong for years.

    • +1

I have two and they both lasted years.

They need cleaning to make sure the spray evenly.
I clean mine every time it needs refilling.

      • +1

        How do you clean yours?

        • +4

          Empty it.

Scrub the inside with a bottle brush and warm soapy water.

I run some warm soapy water though the sprayer, followed by plain warm water.

Leave it to dry, and refill.

    • +1

I got two, one for mum and one for me. The one I got for her has misted perfectly every time, the one I use has been squirting a solid stream since day one. Both using the same oil.

Tried mine on water and it worked great, so maybe its marginal with thicker oils or something?

    • Have had ours for years without issue, clean it between refills

    • Ditto. Mine broke second time I used it. Bought it 6 months ago. Binned it shortly after.

      • Maybe you shouldn’t have put your bodily fluids in it

  • -5

Totally agree. Was initially great and then total rubbish

  • +2

The earlier version with the plastic bladder inside was shit. Broke after a few months but the later version without the bladder inside has been going strong for a few years now.

    • Both versions were amazing for me. The old version lasted a good 5-6 years. That’s sufficient use I think. The new version going great provided you don’t abuse it it experiment with it

  • Got this from WW and still going well. Wonder if vinegar would work too?

  • Saw these for about $10? at Woolies the other week… But a quick Amazon review search swayed me to put it back. Apparently it doesn't "mist" like one would expect with such an item, but rather it streams out…

  • Definitely not "perfect to use". One I bought 3 years ago is brilliant. The 3 I've bought since all suck.

  • +1

Got one of these, kinda meh. Mostly streams unless you press it down hard but I don't want a whole push worth of oil. I got the Aliexpress choice ones that are like $3 and works just as well, but for half the price.

  • +1

Bought this in november from same listing last year and it died a few weeks after and just shoots in straight line.

  • -1

Waste of money. Doesn't work well. DO NOT BUY!!

    • They work just fine. Bought a dud? User error?

  • +1

Brought 2 of these, first one was so bad I didn't even bother using the second … waste of plastic and money.

  • +4

I purchased a similar product made out of glass (~6 months ago) and has been great.
Only $5 more as it's also on sale rn.

YARRAMATE Oil Sprayer for Cooking, 2 in 1 Olive Oil 500ml Glass Oil Bottle

    https://amzn.asia/d/9V5bBn9

    • +1

Thanks. Just got one to replace a broken one of the Decor ones. I like the glass bottle and also the 'pour' feature as well as spray.

    • +2

I approve of this glass one. It doesn’t leak and doesn’t drip down the side of the bottle like the plastic one OP listed.

I owned the OP one (the newer non bag version) and it was a pain in the backside to keep having to wipe it clean after every use. If I didn’t, oil would drip and accumulate under the trigger handle and eventually stain your bench/cupboard shelf or get all over your hands and being plastic it was hard to clean.

This glass bottle one also has a pouring spout on top which is a useful 2-in-1 function.

I got mine from Temu for under $9 and haven’t had to wipe it down once since using it for 3 months.

Such a time saver when cooking not having to worry about getting oil on all your utensils and pots and cupboard/fridge handles from your hands that are covered in oil from holding the plastic bottle to spray the pan if that makes sense.

Wife loves this glass version so much more although the handle could be a bit sturdier. It’s a plastic handle so it flexes ever so slightly but manages to hold the weight of a full bottle just fine after three months of daily use.

  • +2

These are terrible. Doesn't spray well and leaks.

  • -1

I thought they were well priced until I bought some multi purpose sprays from Costco that come in the same sort of spray bottles.

Not saying I would recycle them to spray cooking oil, but to pay almost $7 for an empty plastic bottle is kind of crazy.

    https://www.mrclean.com/en-us/shop-products/multi-purpose-sp…

    • +1

How can you even compare the two?

      • But the sprays are identical, there's no reason for Mr Clean to make a copy cat sprayer, so chances are they come from the same factory, some get packaged to be sold at a premium (relatively speaking), some get filled by cleaning solutions and given away as part of the product.

Then there are people paying 7 bucks for it thinking that they are getting a bargain. It's really laughable.

Seriously though, for cooking oil at least pair it with a glass container, they don't even bother.

        • One is obtainable, the other isn't.

If you know of a cheaper alternative, please feel free to share it.

          • @magic8ballgag: What do you mean not obtainable?

Not suggesting to reuse the cleaner spray for oil, was merely a comparison.

            • @browser: Well, one can be purchased and is intended to be refilled with oil. The other isn't.

It's like saying why bother purchasing any containers when I can just fill an old milk carton with my liquid of choice.

  • +1

Iv bought this couple weeks ago and it’s a waste of money. It only sprays if you press all the way, otherwise it’s just a strong stream that splashes half the oil out of the pan. It’s just like filling up a water gun with oil. Also iv had multiple instances where iv fully closed the bottle only for it to accidentally open and drop and spill half the bottle.

  • +2

bought one last year and like 3 sprays later it was pissing a straight line.

  • +4

It's weird that people have down voted my negative experience, and that of some others. I'm pleased other people have had a positive experience, but I've bought this twice and both times it stopped spraying a mist and simply squirts out a jet of oil

    • +1

      I love a squirt

  • Had mine for 3 years and it works well still to this day

  • Mine leaks when spraying so it's just been sitting in the pantry forever. Have ended up using the squeezy bottles for cooking and spray can again.
