    HERE'S A BETTER LINK >> http://tinyurl.com/b8zb9e6

A search for all Amaysim products, so you can see all "deals" on one page

    • vouchers received, I think I am lucky since I only bought 2 of them. the expire date is 01/04/13 …

  • +3

It's kind of strange that DSE would ship these using retro snail mail when all that needs to be sent out is the recharge code, but still, if DSE is wearing the cost, 20% saved is 20% earned, so +1 from me.

    • They actually ship it via AAX (Australia Air Express) and not AusPost so it is always an overnight service.
However, you gotta be home to accept delivery as stuff shipped with AAX can't be collected in the post office.
I recommend to everyone who wants to buy it to have it shipped to a place where there is someone who can sign for it during business hours (like the mail-room in your workplace for example).

  • biggest question is, how long is the validity on the packs? ie. when do they need to be registered by?

    • You mean the $2 packs? They're just SIMs with no credit. Usually a year or so validity. But there's no savings on the packs so you might as well pick one up from an outlet when you are ready.

      • i mean vouchers.

        • Got mine today in the mail. Recharge voucher expires on 01/04/2013

  • How long does this remain valid when recharged? 90 days?

    • Depends on your plan. As you go credit is valid for 90 days. Unlimited and Flexi for a month. I haven't looked at Flexi closely so don't hold me to that.

  • Just recharged, how long does the voucher code they send out need to be used by. I'm guessing a year, might get a couple of $10 vouchers if that's the case.

    • this is also what i want to know.

      • From memory, it's 1yr before expiry.

What I'd like to know is if DSE give an extra month extension for expiry like Woolies does? (I think that makes it 120 days)

I use Amaysim for data on my tablet and $10 for having mobile data for a third of the year is pretty good (I don't take my tablet out that much and have wifi at home).

        • Is their service fairly reliable? They had some weak reviews on product review. Thinking of getting the 10GB bundle for $99.90, for one year at 20% off. Haven't signed up yet, but could do it as soon as tomorrow.

        • It uses the Optus network so it's just as good as Optus, Woolies and all the other MVNOs using Optus. I'm quite satisfied with my service. But then perhaps I'm easy to please, coming from VF, hahaha…

        • What I'd like to know is if DSE give an extra month extension for expiry like Woolies does? (I think that makes it 120 days)

The answer to this question was yes in July. I don't know if it is still the case, but it is printed on the voucher so when you receive it you will see.

        • Thanks mate.

I suppose if it is now 90 days, at less than $8, I might just get 2 or 3… I'd still be able to use them up in the next year anyway.

    • Got my voucher today. Voucher expiry date is 01/04/2013

  • Just got 2 x $20 :)

  • Nice deal. Purchased 2 of the 19.90 recharges which give a bit of data and plenty of talk for a month.

  • Is Amaysim any good? Whose network do they use?

  • Thanks for this!

  • +1

Just bought enough vouchers for the entire year! :D

  • I ordered 1 to try about a week ago.

    No sign of it yet!

  • awesome. bought this with the wish card.

  • How does this work if you are on postpaid? Can the vouchers be purchased and added to the account, so that future debits take it from the voucher?

    • Amaysim has no postpaid plans. There are no contracts and you can leave them anytime. If you redeem the voucher it just tops up your credit.

      • Not quite.

They don't have post-paid contracts but all their plans are available to be post-paid via CC or DD as opposed to prepaid upfront.

        • It's not really postpaid as commonly understood, as postpaid means you make the calls and the carrier works out how much you owe at the end of the month. With Amaysim if you do CC or DD, they take the money up front and when you run low they take some more. So it's still prepaid, only not by voucher. It's just a convenient means of auto-recharge.

So if you top up with a voucher, it'll be later before they take some more out of your CC or DD.

        • Amaysim DO have post paid. As You Go is available as prepaid and post paid. I have the post paid plan. Does anyone KNOW if the vouchers would work?

        • Just checked my postpaid account - no option for pay by vouchers on postpaid - credit card, Bpay and direct debit options only.

        • Hmm, you're right, I didn't realise they offered that. What advantage does the postpaid option give you, other than being able to spend < $5 per 90 days? I can see you've hit one of the disadvantages.

        • The main advantage is I don't have to worry about having credit. I'm not a prepaid fan nor a fan of contract caps - I don't want to worry about expiry or whether I have enough credit. I just want the cheap call rates!

        • +1

Amaysim isn't going to let you forget though. :) They'll TXT you when it's running low or close to expiry. I have a second SIM which I was going to abandon. They emailed and TXTed me reminders, which I did nothing about, then a few days before the deadline, they gave me $10 free credit on it provided I used a bit to show that it was still viable. I like them. :)

  • Damn just bought a $10 recharge today.. expired 01/04/2013 so i guess about 4 months to use the voucher? If you recharge it's then 90 days to use the credit.

Can i assume from what everyone said above that any DSE vouchers would last at least 4 months before having to be redeemed (upon which you then get a 90 day credit expirey life)? In which case I would probably just get 7 or 8 $10 vouchers now ….

Or do larger voucher recharges get longer dates to redemption ?

    • Interesting, the vouchers I bought from Woolies back in July at 20% off also expire 1/4/13. Maybe Woolies/DSE have a heap of prepaid credit to sell off? Is there such a thing as short dated vouchers? :) Maybe someone who bought this deal can tell us what the expiry date is.

AFAIK, the value of the voucher has no bearing on the expiry date.

      • +1

The value of the voucher has no bearing on the expiry date.
However, the expiry date does have a bearing on the value of the voucher.

      • Well I would concur not because when I buy it from the newsagent in the city it automatically prints out from their little eftpos like machine? Unless it's electronically pre-programmed expirey dates, but in this day and age surely they would print whatever expirey date is applicable form when you buy it/the value of your purchase. Although as the poster reponse below says the value has no bearing on expirey date?

        • Yes, but you are not buying it from Amaysim directly but through their agent Woolies/DSE. I was just speculating that maybe Woolies/DSE contracted with Amaysim to sell $X thousand worth of credit before 01/04/13 and finding that they are not meeting targets so this sale.

Just got mine printed up at local DS. All must be added to your device before 1/4/2013. DS gives the standard 90 days to use plus an additional 30 days (that's 120 days) before credit expires after added to your device.

    • So the discount is applies to all DSE and this is not just an online special? I want to use my staff discount store so I will have to purchase it at my local DSE

      • +1

Pay in store with cash and save another 2c on each $10 credit ($7.90 rather than $7.92).

        • But the website says "Only available online" and no "Click & Collect"…

        • +1

No click & collect, just walk into the store and ask.

    • Darn… was hoping for 365 days to use but the total 120 days b4 credit expiry is good news.

    • How do you reckon the extra 30 days works? I mean fi you buy it online I assume you get the usual recharge cose to plug into your amaysim app /recharge with… unless the code links to their database to offer you 120 days… usually it just says 90 days till expirey? I assume it's all sorted…

Might just buy enough to last until the 01/04/2013 expirey and then + 2 more months since you can load all the credit on 31/03/2013 and it shouldn't expirey for another 3 months… which is 3 more months worth of auto renewwal data packs :D

wish it was longer expirey though.. $8 for 1 month internet use on the go for tablets is awesome thoguh.. only use it for the few minutes/transport to and from work…so not too pricey/dear :D

      • +1

Whenever you recharge the expiry date of all your current credit gets pushed 90 days into the future. With the extra 30 days, the date gets pushed 120 days into the future.

  • Oh awesome, I'll definitely be using this next month! That's $8 that can go to more bargain groceries :)

Does anyone know when this particular deal actually ends though?

  • Why aren't you people using Live connected or Vaya ? both are on optus network and much cheaper than Amaysim.

    • Agreed if you frequently use your mobile. However, for the infrequent user can you beat 3 x $7.90 = $23.70 for 360 days ?

      • How did you come up with 360 days? each data pack lasts for 30days from what i can tell.

        • He means voice. 120 days per $7.90 recharge.

    • +1

Because (outside of this deal), i can get away with $5 per month.

    • What the above posters wrote. I'm an infrequent user. More usage and I might consider LC or Vaya. Also when I need a chunk of mobile data, e.g. going on a trip, I can buy a broadband pack, and still remain on the cheap AYG plan.

    • Plus users like me who just chuck a $10 amaysim in for only internet use for the tablet…. no mobile use/calls.

  • Perfect timing! Voda contract is up in a few weeks and its time to jump ship :-) thanks OP!

  • +1

Mine arrived today in a 3KG prepaid courier satchel…

  • A little bit disappointed, these last 6 months (expiry on the voucher), instead of the 1 year said above. I bought three of them to last me a year. Since I recharged earlier this month I think I will only go through one of these vouchers before they expire. Oh well, maybe I'll just use my phone a bit more or sell them :)

  • Just ordered the $99.90/10GB for $79.92.
Can't believe they are actually going to send this in the mail.

  • Mine expires on 01/08/13. Does that mean 1st of Aug 2013 or 8th of Jan 2013?

    • We're in Australia, so that's 1st August.

  • Just recharged, it's a flexi recharge??!!!!

    • Recharges are not associated with a plan, so perhaps somehow you changed your plan at the same time, or chose the wrong one. Just contact them and they'll sort it out.

      • That's what I thought too. But the recharge is a flexi recharge and on the coupon it says $19.90 and valid for 30 days only. I sorted it out with Amaysim which converted my 19.90 to credit instead. Anyone have this same problem with $20/19.90 recharge they got from DSE?

        • Maybe you paid $19.90 for it instead of $20 which would definitely tag it as a Flexi recharge?

  • On the phone with amaysim now… it changed my plan to Flexi.

  • The $8 ones appear to be limited to 5 per transaction.

  • The $20 voucher is not a recharge. It changed my plan to a Flexi plan in which my credit expires in 30 days instead of 90…

    • It's not supposed to be like that, it is described as a recharge on the DSE site. Call Amaysim up and get the error rectified.

    • I called amaysim to change mine to credit. They would only change 1 for me, i bought 2. Need to go to DSE to get it rectified. Anyone bought the $10 recharge? Is it a top up or some other flexi recharge as well?

      • It can't recharge the Flexi since that costs $19.90/month.

      • The $10 vouchers I bought have the expected 120 days prepaid top-up wording on it.
I haven't used one yet though.

  • Has this deal now expired? forgot about doing it and just came back to the $10 voucher page and it goes through as $10.. is there some code we're meant to be using? Or have I missed out? Doh!

    • Expired now. Deal marked expired.

      • :(
