Aha! So, LC's low rates were to get friends & family members on-board…
It they were later signing up, they'll just have to pay more -or-
all will need to go elsewhere in sync, for a change…
Their unlimited plans are worst than the Amaysim prepaid one.
None of these offers are appealing anymore.

Fail+Yeah, the new plans are awful. I predict Vaya will get a nice surge in sign ups from people who were holding off to see what LiveConnecteds new offerings were going to be.
IMHO they're prolly in financial strife or debt, might explain why many LC cust. haven't got their $100 roaming deposit back (they needed the funds to support themselves). Hence the new plan price increases & significantly less value. They were offering cheap plans with too much value from the start to draw in ppl, but now the repercussions are apparent.
anyone can tell me if VAYA $17 flexi plan says FREE SMS is this for australia only or international as well?

Really disappointed LC off to recommend my friends to Vaya and TPG.

The new plans are terrible.
New plans are Spring plans. Spring closes in another week. They were obviously designed to test your affection levels (you bestowed on them in the first place), but they now hear your answer. :)
Postdated accounts, "plans", invariably receive unenviable treatment.
Who shall be the next experiment subject indeed. Zero new value here.

Taken at FB value it's not a good omen, instead quite dire for new growth..yes.
I think they're called 'Spring Plans' because somebody in middle management said "let's spring these plans on some suckers for clickfrenzy." ;)
The price surge is too much too soon. The whole advantage of LiveConnected was for those people who use their phones so infrequently that it felt stupid not investing a few extra dollars a month for peace of mind and mobile data. If they kept their prices closer in line with the direct competition for 6 more months they could have converted quite a few more families over. Most of my family and friends were 25% LC users but now that there's no incentive to stay with LC (since I'll lose my LC to LC calls) I may have to join the emergent majority provider over the next year - which looks to be Vaya (for now…).
At least LiveConnected was nice enough to fire warning shots.
As usual, this Christmas we'll see "Aussie battlas doin' it tough" (source: Today Tonight, ACA etc).
You do know that anyone on currently on an older plan can stay on that plan with the same inclussions they always had right?

i see lc shutting pretty quick. with so much competition out there, increasing the prices doesnt do them any favours. business 101 - get more customers

They avoid the "how long for" question on FB though, so I have my suspicions.Well if it comes to LC forcing us on to current plans, the OzB hoard is gonna be migrating to Vaya…

I reckon they started out looking for the golden goose, but now it looks like they might lose a hell of a lot more pigeons I suspect they'll have a pretty serious rethink! :)

Very disappointed with the new plans. Did check out Vaya but there is $20 setup and $30 closing account fee also they charge $1.00 for paying via Bpay.
After weighting my options, went with Exetel mobile. TPG is good too but went with Exetel for single bill.
$30 Vaya closing fee does not apply if you port out. It only applies if you totally close the account associated with your mobile number.
Both iiNet and LC are very similar now in terms of their options. Vaya is the cheapest one now.
I just returned from o/s planning to sign up to LC, but i'm afraid customer lost with these changes. Will be checking out alternatives like vaya and TPG.
So is there consensus that Vaya is the way to go for low cost mobile plans? Who are the other main contenders?

Yep, similar situation. Moved one of our phones to LC, was planning on moving 2 more after contracts end next month.. Looking at Vaya now, and will just have to move them all there.
