    2 for $88.50

    • +4

wow nice, looks like it stacks with their "spend and save" posted the other day?

Odd, usually retailers exclude clearance sales from those….get in while you can then gents lmao.

    • +4

You are a legend. This worked out great. Me and a mate of mine have got our first raspberry pis

  • +2

Ordered one, then 2 more. Thanks OP and @HomeAlone

  • +2

    Thanks. Ordered two $88.50.

  • +1

Perfect timing to get Klipper running for thr Ender 3 V3 SE deal

  • -2

You'll want a metal case for it to act as heat sink, they can run pretty hot.

    • I am going to place it in a fixed shelf in my server rack (with 4 cooling fans).
That should take care of the heat.

    • +7

But it's in the keyboard case

      • +2

Oh yeah, it's the 400 not the 4. The keyboard "case" does run as cool as a Pi 4 in a FLIRC case iirc. So as long as you don't mind the keyboard then this is a good deal.

  • +3

    Out of stock already

    • +2

Seems to be plenty of stock around. I think they just disabled delivery?

    • +1

Change your store or do pickup

    • Use the new jaycar site option. Stock appeared when I swapped to it

    • Yep, no delivery, and I can't find any stock anywhere in Melbourne :(

  • Does it include PSU?

Doesn't look like it, so any Type-C plug should do

    • +2

I think all Raspberries like a bit of over voltage comparing to standard 5V, that’s why their branded PSU usually are 5.1V and all Raspberry units I used with standard 5V chargers would show “Undervoltage detected!” in console occasionally which also leads to the famous issue when some sd cards become permanently corrupted (i.e. you can’t even format them anymore).

      • Nah , just run few devices with HA which get your SD card damage no time even with the correct power supply. Thats why its always good to use a SSD for HA.

      • I only had problems with cheap chargers or the ones delivery 1A or less.
Most of decent chargers work fine for me

      • +2

Both of my Pi 3B+ complain about under voltage when using the official branded PSU. I've tried 3 different branded PSU as well and get the same message.

        • Hey, thanks for the info, I was considering finally buying an official PSU, but huh, looks like it won’t help still.
I’m using same 3B+ models btw.

          • +2

@olderman: YMMV, I have run about 20-30 Pi 3B+ in schools over the last year and only had one or two complain of voltage issues. I don't know if my two Pi's are just sensitive or if my 3 PSUs are defective. I haven't had any performance issues since they are only performing basic tasks. No corrupted cards yet either.

    • +2

No. They are fussy about power supplies.

  • Went OOS in my cart. Must be people buying multiple.

  • Are their stock levels accurate? I hope they don’t take excess orders then cancel most of them.

    • Mine was cancelled, even though they processed it for pickup.
It showed 9 in stock at the time.

  • -3

    I am seeing keyboard

    • I am reading the model number correctly.

  • Is this one enough to run Home Assistant?

    • Yes

    • +1

Works exactly the same as the regular Pi 4s- I've had one running HA for he past 2-3 years flawlessly as could not source the regular ones during the chip shortage during COVID.

  • Can I run a python server on it?

    • Sure, it's a regular Pi 4

  • +2

    "You have been blocked" What!

  • +1

    Can you upgrade ram?

    • No

    • +2

But you could use a nice and fast microsd card and then put a massive pagefile/virtmem on it. I'd give it like 32gb of pagefile/virtmem.

  • Looks like most stores have one left in stock, nobody wants to pay pay full discounted price of $59 for the last one, since finding out about the stacked deal.

    • I actually needed two but I settled for one as that was all my local had in stock. :(

  • +2

    Ordered 2 for $88.50. Thanks.

  • awesome. getting a couple picked up if stock is accurate. wow!

  • +1

    Thanks heaps ordered 2.

  • +1

Thanks, ordered 2 for store pick up, let's hope the stock listings are accurate!

Picked up two Pi5s last week with the element14 deal, so this is a true ozbargain impulse buy. I'll figure out a use later.

    • Store (Eltham VIC) had only one in stock, so I was able to get that one plus their demo/floor model (which looks new, just no box)

Not too fussed about that given I was planning on (eventually) using it, rather than Brodening what I received.

  • +5

Waaaait…. hold on folks, stop buying: we need to confirm if this exceptional price is an ethical deal. /s
Thanks OP, cracking deal, hopefully many happy customers today (and happy retailer selling & clearing slow-moving stock).

    • +1

I don't draw lines. If it's profitable, and if I don't get caught, I'll take that.

    • +1

It's Jaycar, (profanity) em. Their MO is selling AliExpress stuff at 400% markup.

      • +1

400% is on the low end for some things.

Its (profanity) painful as when I order things for school I can only order from Australian stores which means Jaycar is my easiest option and I have to pay $31 for an ESP8266 when I can get 10 x units that suit my needs at about $2.6/each.

Means I cant afford to let kids build projects and keep them and I have to disassemble them each semester and start again.

        • +1

Check out Altronics if you have one nearby (or mail order)

          • @helmutiffe: I have, and while they are cheaper than Jaycar (~$22 for the equivalent product) it's still almost 10x the price than aliexpress, and too expensive to give to students permanently.

I could get an ABN, sell directly to schools from stuff I order off Aliexpress, charge 100% markup and still be cheaper than anywhere else.

      • Yeah like this exact item, oh wait…

  • +2

Wish it had track pad built in

    • and a fingerprint sensor as well? XD

      • a small touch screen built in as welll !!!

        • Yeah, what a ripoff

  • I see this deal, but I have no idea what it is. Quick google shows.. a mini PC with keyboard?
What do people use this for?

Still some in stock in my area :D

    • +2

      STEM projects
      Home assistant
      Basic PC
      Media server
      Klipper/Octopi for 3D print
      Retropi

    • +1

I'd run Boinc Projects on Linux, or put an android OS on it and run Dreamlab projects. Will use shht all power and help us all out. Running it all through winter in one of the cooler states would be a good idea.

  • First 2x Raspberry Pi for my lifetime. Thanks!

  • Perfect to run redundant adguard home servers. Virtual IP and your done!

  • Thanks OP.

  • +1

Thanks OP ordered 1 (no stock otherwise would try 2). Planning to try if it can fit a pi 5 in :D

    • +1

The Pi 5 won't fit inside the Pi400 case. The Pi 400 uses the same componentry as the Pi4, but the motherboard is a longer and narrower in order to fit in the keyboard case and all the connectors are at the back.

  • Thanks Op. Great deal. Hopefully no surprises with stock levels etc.

  • Has anyone recieved order ready for pick up confirmation?

    • Nope. not yet.

    • Ordered the only 3 at my local stored, picked up this morning successfully.

      • I'm glad I went when they opened and picked up. In store the price was not the same as the online price, which I thought was interesting, the guy in store wasn't sure why that was the case.

    • +2

      They opened early?

    • +3

just went instore picked up the last 6 at Bankstown store

      How?

Jaycar Bankstown isn't open for another 55 minutes.

        • +8

I call it bs, not auto correct.

      • +6

EC just trying to scare off other buyers with some casual fibbing.

        • +4

Scare away all buyers so they can have all the stock to themselves, and then flog them on fleabay?

  • Is one Raspberry Pi 400 enough to run both Home Assistant and Pi-Hole?

    • Yes

    • Plenty

    • +5

You could use Adblock instead of pihole, which you can find in home assistant add ons

  • +1

Thanks op. Guess we will see how accurate the stock levels are this morning

    • Well, collection ready email received already

  • +2

Any suggestions for cheap/decent Bluetooth game controllers? Thinking I'll set one up as an emulation box for my kiddos.

  • Just managed to add 2 to my cart $96.50 delivered.

  • Thanks, ordered 2 to pick up Tuggerah store

  • +1

Sorry noob question, just want to know what generally people get raspberry Pi used for?

  • +2
