  • Ordered, thanks!

    • Have bought the AV200 yesterday and just ordered this AV500 as well, so does anyone know AV200 and AV500 could work together?
      Many Thanks.

      • it works.. i have both av200 & av500 on the same network.. its homeplug compatible. i noticed that onn my av500 i can hear transmission noise on my bluetooth speakers but on on av200. i may have a bad av500 or its normal..

        • If you have 2 500 and 2 200, does it all units will sync to the lowest speed of 200?

      • Let me know if u r considering to sell the AV200

  • NVM, diff price…

  • Dont know if this a silly question or not but can this run together with the other powerline kit? Never used one of these before.

  • Hi Elijah,

This is the 500 MB Version, yesterday was the 200 MB Version, different product.

Also check our YouTube video out (shortly) :)

The description doesn't say it's for the 500mb version mate.

        • -1

even the link is in the description…, read it !

          "53% OFF 500MBs + 3.95 shipping."

Yes, they were cross-promoting on a potential future special for the 500MB version.. which is the deal we're posting in at the moment. The deal itself was the for the 200MB version, hence different price.

Not that hard to understand really.

  • Would the wiring in your house be a bottleneck for Powerline kits?

Just wondering if there would be any difference between 200 or 500 mbps kits.

  • Thanks MegaBuy, ordered and paid yesterday and received shipping confirmation today.

    • +3

We are working very hard to have them shipped as soon as possible, we shipped quite a lot out today.

Our friends at Couriers Please sent 3 people to help us pack more orders.

check out our video (uploaded shortly) - to see some warehouse action and an unboxing and review of the 500MBs version.

      Our Youtube Video.

      • Cool, what a sight!
Ordered a set. Hopefully, they will complement my existing 200mbps Netcomm kits.

        • Can they be used together along with the netcomm kits? I got 2 at home already just wondering before I buy one

        • +1

I'm counting on them to work with my existing adaptors. After all, their specs mentioned "Compatible with HomePlug 1.0", which is the older standard for 85mbps adaptors. Does that answer your query?

        • Hopefully they work with existing EoPs. Homeplug 1.0 is very old tech. The lowest speed EOP will determine the max speed…1.0 is like 5 mbps…according to this http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/lanwan/lanwan-basics/31585-sm…

I bought it anyway couldn't resist.

Can a megabuy rep comment on compatibility with other brands?

      • +1

Looks more like an unboxing than a review. Always nice to know what comes in the box anyhow.

p.s. please introduce Levelator to your video editing guy. :)

        • thanks, ill send it on to him :)

  • Hi, any chance of a complementing wireless powerline product? Belkin doesn't appear to make one

  • +5

Darn it, I wanted the 500Mbps version but order your 200 yesterday, any chance of a change or upgrade?

    • Me too

      • Use these for your multimedia AV setup and the slower ones for non-AV connections, they are more than adequate.

    • +1

Buy another one and put it in your bathroom :P

    • Yep, me as well. Slightly miffed.

    • Let me know if u r considering to sell the AV200

  • The topic mentions $3.95 for delivery, yet on the website only "Standard Freight - 2 Deliveries $7.95" appears. What gives? Destination - Canberra.

Edit: Nevermind! I had the old 200mbps one in my cart somehow. Must have remembered me from yesterday's promotion that I missed ;)

  • This is a good deal. Bought these a while back from JB HiFi for $75.

  • It's good n all but will it works with my 19" analog tv ?

    • It will work with anything that has an Ethernet port on it. It's unlikely your 19" analog TV would have one of these..!

  • Nice deal. Not for me as my broadband connection is slow so my Wi-Fi works well enough. These powerline adapters have come a long way in speed and low price though.

  • Hi rep, Just wondering what is the diff btw this and the one posted yesterday other than the transfer speed 500mbps and 200mbps? Does this have a 8 network port at the end point where the other has only 1?

    • +1

Both adapters have 1 ethernet port. You use a switch/hub to connect multiple devices.

  • +1

Nice deal ordered. This model also got some good reviews

    • Care to link some of those reviews you read? I haven't seen any so far…

  • How nicely would these play with the NETGEAR 1-PORT POWERLINE AV 500 NANOs I already own?

  • Great price, ordered!

  • Megabuy, why don't you post the server deal as a separate thread - looks a stonking deal to me (not that I'm in the market for one…) - $424.50 delivered.

    • We might do Rob - but heres an early showing.

I'm not sure, but it could probably be a decent value business desktop maybe? (i'd have to check with the Technical guys on that one)

      Needs an OS at least.

      MegaBuy

  • Hi Megabuy, you should include that you actually surcharge on the price of 2.5% for credit card, paypal payments. More for AMEX

The price you have on title is only with direct deposit or bank transfer

    • Almost all computer stores charge more for credit cards. Paypal is a bit more rare, but not too surprising given paypal charges to withdraw money.

      • Few good ones dont. Logitechshop, shoppingexpress, shoppingsquare, …..

        • Logitech shop already does a lot (most?) of their business through eBay (so they have to offer PayPal), and ShoppingSquare is more of a general online store (not specifically for computers).

Most general computer stores charge for credit cards (2-3%), ie, MSY, Centrecom, PCCaseGear, UMart, ITEstate, etc.

    • -4

lol not sure why I got negged for. just saying it should be included, as it's misleading the checkout price

      • I don't think it should be included. Could be mentioned in OP I guess, but you're not forced to pay by credit card / paypal so it doesn't need to be included in the price given.

      • +1

Pay by Direct Deposit, a perfectly common option and you get the listed price. The CC surcharge is not excessive and seems pretty fair. You got to consider these are low margin computer stores. Don't be greedy you are already getting a great deal.

    • Well, let's face it, everyone has a transaction account so this isn't a roadblock for many.

  • Got one thanks

  • Can i use double adapter on this device? As i want to use this on overseas?

  • does this extend the wifi connection or gives extra point for network cable to be plugged in ?

    • If you plugged one end into your modem/router and bought another WiFi router to attach to the second point, yes, it would work. Just need to disable DHCP on the second router and manually assign it a mgmt IP.

  • +1

It might be a little bit misleading to say that the transfer rate is 500MB. I'm pretty sure it's not.

    500MB means 500 Megabytes. That's 4 gigabits.

    This is 500Mbps. That's half a gigabit.

I know most people on here would know what you meant, but still. Good deal though. +ve

  • I'd rather the 200MB, would I still be able to get yesterday's deal?

  • +1

Would someone know if these can co-exist with another brand powerline adapter on the same circuit?

  • I'm needing something like this to communicate with my Solar Panel Invertor. I've been recommended the Netgear PowerLine adapter kit AV200 is anyone able to advise whether or not this Belkin version will do the same thing?

    • These appear to be the same type of device, just different brand.

  • When I try see the Deal it says "Product Not Available", wonder where I got it wrong !

  • Coupon code no longer working? Says shipping is $15.95, too.
    Sub-Total: $99.95
    Courier (Standard Freight - 1 Delivery): $15.95
    Discount (coupon code "49CNIBKZMS29"): -$0.00
Visa / MasterCard Handling Fee: $2.97
    Total: $118.87

Looks like I missed out again :(

  • Damn i tihnk i missed out too!

  • Also interested in buying the av200. If anyone have a spare please pm me.

  • These Gigabit Powerline HD (US plug) seem to be heavily reduced too.
    http://www.amazon.com/Gigabit-Powerline-HD-Starter-Kit/dp/B0…
And the user reviews average only 2.3/5 stars (for what thats worth).
Still a great price here - I would probably buy if any left.

    • +1

Powerline Gigabit vs Powerline AV500, you would think the gigabit kit is faster. But in reading some reviews on the AV500 kit, i found it's not necessarily the case. I came across some user feedback comparing the two kits. Generally, speeds were about the same, if not, a little slower on the gigabit adapters.

The gigabit adapter is actually an older Belkin product. It could be a marketing thing where the adapter has a gigabit ethernet port, but the adapter itself is not capable of gigabit speeds. I'm not entirely sure as i didn't read into the technical specs of the gigabit adapter.

      • As DTizL said, be wary about purchasing the "Gigabit Powerline HD Starter Kit". The release date is over 2 years before the AV500 was released, and compare it's lower model number - F5D4076 - to the AV500's - F5D4085. Personally, going by the reviews, I would steer clear. It seems to be inferior to even a lot of the 200Mbps units around the place and it doesn't seem to come with any type of monitoring/diagnostic software.

  • Dammit, was away when this deal was on :(

  • damn i was thinking of Ethernet over power recently and this would've been great, just had to miss it.

  • OK so I successfully put my order in on Friday but forgot to enter the discount code. Reckon Megabuy would be nice enough to apply my code? Please :)

    • Hi Bomber,

I have forwarded your request onto the sales team, wont be a problem.

      MegaBuy

  • Is the sale still going, the link says 5+ (Available)

The coupon code code doesn't appear to work anymore :(

    • I'm not sure if it should be posted as a new deal, anyhow I got an email about an hour from Megabuy. There's a new coupon code for 53% off the AV500 kit.

      Coupon code: YUAQF02O159T

It looks like a generic coupon code that everyone can use as there's no mention of it being once off.

      • But the product link is not working anymore now.

        • Browse to the item through the menu on the website. I did this earlier today to test the code.

  • Has been "conveniently" been removed from the site, did search and browse only the 200mbps kit can be found! Great work Mega Buy!

    • ??
The deal was posted four days ago, and is "while stocks last".

It took you four days to find it? Great work, mcor82.. whose fault is it? :)

  • +3

The order is still on "processing", anyone got any further updates?

    • I rang and was told that they were busy shipping them. Sadly no ETA

      • Really? I hope its not another false promise. I watched their youtube packing video for the 200mbps, thought they are quite reliable and "on the ball" with orders…so is that not the case? =(

Perhaps they actually don't have those in stock. Waiting for the stock to arrive before sending shipments. I think the overwhelming response must have got they surprised

  • Megabuy ripped me off last month for a $70 sd card that never came. They never answer their emails or phone or live chat.

    • That's not my experience with them. They have answered my phone calls and replied to my emails so far.

      • Let's hope for the best. We need an update from Megabuy rep whether they are packing them or waiting for shipment from suppliers

  • has anyone received their kit yet?

    • Received mine on Thursday (the 22nd) :)

  • +1

Got an update on my email it's shipped today.

    • Lucky you…not here

      • Spoke too soon. its shipped. Happy days!

        • Got the email, mine has been shipped!!!!!!

  • Ok so I just opened the package, it appears you can't hook up to existing EOP network which I already got 2 netcomms np204

  • +1

so after 8 days of waiting while they took my money,i decided to contact megabuy and this is what i got "We have been notified by our supplier that the product with part number F5D4085AU has unfortunately been discontinued and can no longer be supplied. Unfortunately both us and our suppliers have sold out of this product (as likely have most other shops, unless they specifically hold stock of the product and have old stock). We should also note that it is generally better to buy products that are not end-of-life or discontinued as manufacturers will generally stop supporting these product and will not issue updates (e.g. new firmware with bug fixes, etc) after some time. We recommend that you consider the newer model of the same product or an alternate product that has not gone end-of-life or been discontinued."

    • Wow… Bit of a dick move to tell you not to buy end-of-life models given it's the store rep that advertised it here…

      • I got the same message just today. WTF… Been waiting but got a sorry email?…. im furious.
