YouTube Premium Mex$139/Month (A$11.39), Mex$1390/Year (A$113.89), Students Mex$79/Month (A$6.47) - Mexico VPN Required

NB: For those not caught yet, YouTube has been cracking down on foreign accounts so most international countries are blocked for new signups, and they are cancelling Premium subscriptions once your current term runs out. And they know exactly what they’re doing because all of the countries with similar high pricing to Australia still allow signups. There seem to be pricing bands.

This is the only region I can find that is a worthwhile amount cheaper than Australia. Nothing like the past, but it’s something.

  1. VPN to Mexico (I used the cheap TorGuard deal).
  2. Navigate to YouTube Premium (https://www.youtube.com/premium) in the browser and sign up.
  3. I don’t know if this is required but for the post code I added an extra zero to the end of my Australia post code (which ends in zero) so it just looked like a typo. I used Revolut.

That simple. No special accounts required.

    YT finally got me.
I no longer live in Indonesia to them.

They dont want my money so its ad blocker time

Got me too. Lost my virtual Turkey resident identity since 2020.

  • Is there anyway for me to check what country I signed up with?

    • Found it. I'm on Pakistani Rupee.
      YT music, account, paid memberships.

  • Got the email today for YT Premium Pakistan.

For those that use YT primarily on their TV (via Android) and want a free alternative to premium, check out SmartTube.

  • Lost my indian yesterday day, it was a good 4 years.

Revanced seems good, but casting has adds, which makes sense but I watch YouTube on my tv more than my mobile. I don't think I can install smarttube on my tv. Anyone know a workaround?

  • My Pakistan family membership was charged last night of $4.96 AUD to my Macquarie bank account. So far no email yet about the cancellation but since many of you guys are getting cancelled from Pakistan membership I suspect mine won't be far behind.

I’m still going strong on my India sub. My only issue is my 28 Degrees card. Need to find another card that will work.

    • do you know how to change the credit card with YTpremium. I am now from INdia. Will they allow change to Australian credit card?
Can you or anyone give me a step by step instruction? Thank you

      • You need to sign into payments.google.com

Make sure you sign in with the Google account you’re using YT premium with

        • thank you. Do you need to use VPN? my PIA VPN has increased price so looking for a new VPN.

I got an email this morning, I am losing my Turkey account access, I have had it for years, hopefully I can get one of these other countries to work.

    • I've given up on these cheap Youtube deals.
Have installed SmartTube on my Android TV devices and YouTube ReVanced on my Samsung phone.

      • I will give SmartTube a shot on my nVidia Shield, but 90% of my YT usage is on my iPhone.

Just got this to work, NordVPN MacBook Chrome normal mode, paid with Latitude 28 degree for 1 year

    • Did you use your old account or make an entirely new one?

I'm trying to figure out whether existing compromised accounts are being individually flagged, and thus whether it's worth keeping the ruse alive via an entirely new gmail that's created and signed up to YT in another country.

  • My long running turkish membership got cancelled.

Signed up with Pakistan and got booted in 2 hours as it was trial (i used new account)

Now i have signed up on old account using mexican vpn - lets see how it goes. paid 10.91$

    • Same I got booted too from Turkey
Cool this worked for you let us know if you have any problems after thanks

      • Mexico worked, paying using revolut, thanks OP
Wondering if I should buy annual subscription… If I get booted will they give a refund or just cancel when it ends?

        • I've done the same thing, keep me updated if you decide to go for the annual sub.

Hotspot VPN + Revoult worked + Mexico worked for an annual membership. Revoult froze the transaction. I allowed it and it went straight through

Same account that was hit for turkey. still in period before turkey ended.

  • Got Israel to work. Urban vpn $9.79 Single account

    • Even when I connect to another country (eg Phillipines) and see that currency with Urban VPN, when I go to pay I get the "Transaction declined. This purchase requires a payment method from your billing country. [OR_RECR_05]"

how do you get around that, when you can't change the country in payment screen? The payment profile has a random address in the VPN country…

      • i used a suncorp card and that issue didn't occur to me

        • I also tried using the suncorp card that had worked for Turkey, but wouldn't this time….

ended up going the cheaper Apple India gift card route anyway..

    • Can confirm Israel works with NordVPN, a bit over $17/month for the family plan.

  • My Pakistan family membership renewed last night at $4.84 AUD. 9 months for me now. Still waiting on that email that Google has caught me. I will update if that ever happens.

Ukraine still going strong for me 8 months in

  • My Pakistan family membership was ended. Just switched over to Mexico, cheers.

  • Just signed up to Mexico VPN, used Revolut. Worked for me. Bought Annual for 1390 MXN. Let's see how long I have it for.

I think the problem is youtube has now blocked the popular VPNs. I tried a few countries with a brand new account (without a payment method set up). youtube jump straight to a page showing "cannot verify your country". Tried both PIA and Surfshark. Only mexico works

  • I get to the payments page for both Isreal and Mexico, but after trying both my 28 degree and paypal, payment screen just keeps spinning. Left it for an hour and it still keeps the loading animation. Any thoughts?

    • What VPN are you using? I used NordVPN to connect to Mexico City and used Revolut MXN and that worked.

      • Using Nordvpn. Maybe it's my 28 degree card, might need to set up Revolut.

      • So how did you sign up Revolut under Mexico. My country is automatically set to Australia after I did the sms code thing.

Or did you sign up Revolut as Australia as your country but opted to pay in MXN?

        • Yes. Sign up to Revolut as normal. Open an AU Wallet, and a MXN wallet. Buy AU dollars in the app, then do an internal conversion to MXN and use that to purchase.

          • @SmokeyTheCorgi: Did all that but still the same, when I try and add the Revolut card on the payment screen it just keeps loading after entering the details. Any ideas?

            • @Sunman: Don't know for sure. Make sure on Mexican VPN, your billing address is Mexican post code, you have the proper MXN amount in your revolution account, make sure you approve & unfreeze the account in the app.

              • @SmokeyTheCorgi: Do you need to link your physical revolut card to the Mexican wallet? I'm a bit confused on how to make the payment.

Not sure if this will help anyone but I was kicked off YT family Turkish plan today.

I managed to successfully sign back up to an individual plan at 75.99TRY/month by using my Turkish Apple account and signing up via the YT Music app. This uses preloaded credit from my Turkish Apple account which has been loaded up via giftcards at Turgame. Cant be bothered writing a full tutorial but i'm sure others can! I havent tested this with a family subscription which also is available via this app method.

    • Does this method require you to create a new YouTube account (with the Turkish Apple account)?
Would like to keep existing data on my current account if I can.

      • +1

No, you can keep existing YT account. You will need Turkish apple account (new or old) to do this trick.

      I can confirm this works!

    • worked by re-subbing through youtube premium family on my turkish apple account using turkey apple gift cards. Was able to keep my existing youtube family settings. Best to use a seperate apple device from your main device to keep the sub going as you will need to cancel all subscriptions changing back to your main apple account on the device.

    • Do you need VPN?

      • No VPN required

    • Thanks a lot! It works for me! Regarding the monthly fee, do I need to load up Turkish Apple gift cards to the Turkish Apple account every month?

      • How long did it take for your Turgame card to come through? I've been waiting for a couple of hours and it's still stuck in 'Processing'

        • Around 2-3 hours I guess.

      • Did your youtube got cancelled first or did you do it before the service stopped? Did you load up or will you do month by month (I fear that if they catch up on that, we will be sitting on a load of apple credit in turkish lyra)?

  • Since there is no solution for this issue I decided to sideload YouTube and now I have ytliteplus with built in adblocker and tons of more features like isponsorblock, youpip, fixed video quality and more, very happy with it :)

    • Tell us more sir

  • Update!

So i have finally been caught. I got the email yesterday that my Pakistan premium subscription will be ending on October 8th. That was around 9 and half months at just under $5 AUD a month for the family plan :(

Now i need to search for another Country.

    • problem is which VPN will work? keep getting the error banner "we couldn't verify your country".

guess YT also caught on it

  • My Pakistan premium family subscription also just got cancelled - I only have Australian credit cards and Nord VPN, and Mexico (around A$20/month) was the only country I could get to work with my AMEX, using the directions as per this post. Still cheaper than Australia at $33/m but also 4x more than the $5 I was paying using Pakistan :(

    • Mexico shouldn't be 20AUD. Only about 11.

      • $11 is the single subscription, I have the family one.

  • I've also had to move from Argentina. I got Mexico going as it is easiest but any other cheaper alternatives that don't require messing around?

  • So my Pakistan YouTube will not work from 5 Oct as I got the email from Google last week.

I'm now trying to visit the premium from a variety of countries; Argentina, Ukraine, Nigeria and all I'm getting is this : This offer is not available.

    Any luck from anyone?

    • Replying to myself, Israel worked for me at $18 a month for the family. Let's see for how long though!

  • I haven't been able to get any regions to work recently using both Surfshark & NordVPN. F anyone aha any luck let us know which region & vpn & browser ! Thx

  • +1

Gave up fighting to find a country and went with GamsGo which works flawlessly.

    • How’s gamsgo? Did you pay for 1 year?

      • It's great so far. Paid about $54 for the annual plan.

        • I have a relative that lives in Argentina, he sent me an invite to join his family account and got rejected.
Isn’t gamsgo the same? I mean by invitation? Why does it work with them but not with my relative’s family membership?
          Weird

          • @Emilimu: GamsGo had a thing where you had to make sure that your account was in Australia. Not sure if that's the issue that you hit by being an Australian account trying to join an Argentinian family? Maybe try changing to Argentina then click the invite link?

            • +1

@ghoulie1: I’ll check that out, thanks mate and $55 is a more than decent price for a full year of YouTube premium

  • Looking at Grammarly, if you change your location to Nigeria, its about $42 annually.

  • I just signed up for Mexico annual using UP debit card. So far so good.

Received email that my whole family have to move out Turkey once the membership is ended, just tried this method and moved my whole family to Mexico via Tunnel Bear VPN.

I wait one more week hoping they will take some money from my Macquarie bank and could last bit longer before I move back to Australia.

Just lost my Turkey YouTube Premium account :(
    Will try this.

  • Just lost Ukraine

  • +1

Damn it's now my turn. I'm ok since I got revanced etc but my family members not tech literate and on apple ecosystem. Back to ads for them!

  • Just got booted off Ukraine

  • my turn has come… :(

  • I've left turkey :( My family has moved to mexico for ~21/month now with these instructions

    • how did you move the family account? did you create new accounts or the whole accounts can be moved directly

      • +1

literally just VPN'd using the same account and signed up via Mexico. Google family was already established so it did it for everyone

  • My family plan just got booted from Argentina :(

    • +1

Same here. Just got the e-mail unfortunately. Now to look for another option.

  • +1

Got booted from Turkey…terrible immigration policies…dare I say racist!

  • Still on Ukraine for now. I just had to update the expiry on my credit card, which also required me to enter the billing address 😬

  • My family left Pakistan several hours ago. Needing a new home that is cheaper to live than Australia XD

  • If I'm physically at the Manlia Airport using their WiFi, can I change my subscription to Philippines pricing?

    • +2

It depends on your credit card. Being physically in Argentina didn't help me.

No different to using a VPN really.

  • +1

My India family plan just got cancelled after 5 years.

  • What are you all using now? I am used to premium features. We use it on mobile devices and android TV.

  • +2

    Just VPN back from Mexico.
So I was a member with India for many years, used to always get the local suggestions but I got the email my family membership was cancelled straight away.
So I went to Mexico was able to sign up with a month family membership which is AUD$21.60 through Revolut today. Unfortunately can’t get a family annual.

    • How to setup Revolut? Just add a new currency and the payment system will use the correct currency automatically?

Can we use it to pay YT in Philippines Peso?
