Good price on the MK808 and RC1, part of geekbuying's Black Friday deals (Use their AUD conversion which is actually pretty good). Although only a few dollars off the previous best deals on these, but the combination makes a nice little cheap Android system for your TV.

  • Will the Air Mouse work on PS3/PC?

    • Love to know this. Is it any good? especially the mouse pointing.
Be nice to have a device to work with PC, PS3 and my midnight box.

It works well with Windows 8 and Ubuntu as well.
It takes a bit of time to get used to it tho. I am really happy with it.

      • Thanks, helpful. Have ubuntu also.

  • For the people that have bought this before, is it good as a media player? Can you connect a portable drive to it?

    • I have one of these and have been very pleased with my purchase. I am using it as a media player and have it connected to an external 3.5" USB hard drive no worries. Even downloaded torrents to the drive from the TV ;) Very nippy for the price.

  • What makes this one different from http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/85824 ? the other one comes with extra usb, hdmi ports too, which is better? can any of these stream 1080p (18GB FILES) movies from my pc and play it on tv seamlessly?

For those considering this - I ordered one of these units from Geek Buying in late October, and it's still yet to turn up.

They state a delivery time of 15-30 business days, so it's not like I've been scammed, but be warned that 30 business days is a looong time in real life.

I ordered one of these from the same seller on 10th October. It shipped out on 17th October. It arrived 22nd November.

It felt like an eternity, all the while you're left wondering… will a new, better version come out before I receive it? Luckily this still seems like the most current version.

I would trust the imito mx1/2 one over this, I had had wifi problems with this since purchase. This doesn't have bluetooth either.

PS: For all the current owners you might want to try the finless rom for this for a better experience compared to the stock rom.

    • I installed the Finless 1.5a rom this weekend. It's less bloated, a little more stable and fixes some resolution issues. I'd recommend it.

The stock rom compresses the display into a shorter vertical resolution (therefore everything looks a bit stretched width-wise) because there's an always on top menu at the bottom with the back/home/running apps/volume up/volume down buttons displayed (in the absence of hardware buttons).

Anyway, that menu is a bit of a pain, still haven't figured out how to make it auto-hide.

  • Anyone had luck getting XBMC reliably running on these??

  • This vs smart tv, which is better?
