Do you have any budget (the $750 one) ITX/mATX builds on offer?

    • +2

Not at this stage sorry - May bring it back in the future, but nothing at the moment in the ITX sphere.

      • Thanks Luke - would be happy to just swap in an mATX case too if you had any on hand (an old Leaper mATX?), or get it without a case? (assuming it's the Biostar A520MH).

Two things to note about TechFast PCs.
First is, upgrade the power supply from the generic default unit. It'll be sixty bucks well spent.
Second is, their service in the event of any problems is excellent. It took a while to get things resolved but never once did they try to duck responsibility.

The only thing that's stopping me from jumping on that $750 R5/ 4060 deal ($810 with the PSU upgrade, again, cannot stress this enough, never use a generic PSU) is the fact I don't play any AAA games. If I did, I'd be all over it.

    • +1

I got a gigabyte psu w my tf pc. should i upgrade lol

    • +3

Their generic PSUs aren't THAT bad. They're basically entry level Silverstone / CoolerMaster PSUs, not the most efficient but perfect suitable for their entry level PCs and not dangerous or unreliable in my experience. The Ryzen 5600 and RTX 4060 only draw about 200w during gaming.

      • +2

Mine shorted after a while. This was an old 2018 techfast build though. Overall would still consider it worth it though (replaced psu and it was fine)

      • +1

        Just an FYI.
I bought my son a 12400f 4060 budget box from tech fast a couple of months ago. It came with an allied gaming 550w PSU.

      • true but psu lasts for a while so shelling an extra bit of cash for a decent one can be carried onto ur next build and even the one after it

      • My PC was delivered and wasn't stable at the desktop or in-game… No idea how this got past their QA process but I had to go through the process of sending it back.

Don't get the generic PSU if you want to save yourself a headache.

      • No, their PSU's are atrocious, my friends one shorted after 1 year.

    • +5

Yeah, I can second the "took a while to get resolved". I've had a faulty part sitting with them for almost 2 months now. It's been radio silence for 6 weeks. I shouldn't need to keep nagging, I've already nagged once.

    • +5

Had a GPU sent back to them almost a month now. No update, still in the queue for assessment.my 2500+ pc just sitting there, unusable. Luckily still have a laptop. Never again.

    • +2

Techfast customer here, for their previous 14900kf + 4080S deal.

With their PSU, if your lucky 'sometimes' they would run out of the advertised brand and actually give you the upgraded model for free. Happened to me and I ended up with the MSI 850W Gold PSU.

I agree regarding their service. I had a DOA part and it was rearranged to be shipped back to them free of charge. A new one was shipped out to me and everything was meticulously communicated the whole way through.

    • Hold on, if you are playing AAA games, then you need that $2878 i9/4080S deal, not that lowly R5/4060…

very minor typo in this, you typed 4070 above the link for the 2nd list. Just thought I'd let you know :)

    • Thanks for that.

The PCPartPicker website has 2 warnings for the parts for the 4060 build:

One additional 8-pin EPS power connector is needed.
One additional 8-pin PCIe power connector is needed.

Does the PSU actually work with that motherboard and graphics card?

  • How long will it take to build and ship out to Sydney if I purchase today ?

    • Around 5-10 business days of lead time for manufacturing, testing and shipping. From SA To Sydney, regular postage takes around 2-4 business days for suburban postcodes.

  • Do I have to pay extra for windows? says comes with Linux

    • Yeah linux is the standard option, you can upgrade to Windows 11 on the build page.

    • +11

Get linux for free then install windows yourself and use massgrave to activate for free :)

      • +4

I swear I am not tech illiterate. Infact I have a self hosted media library set up with a modest HomeLab.

All these years and first time I am hearing about massgrave…

    • Why u want 2 pay for windoze. Git it free. ;)

      • +1

Windows has been free for a long time with minor cosmetic inconveniences: don’t activate it = free Windows. No crack needed.

Certainly no one needs to pay for a Windows in a VM running applications accessible via browser or thick client.

  • +1

Do you have any no-gpu deals. I have a 4080 so don't need to replace that

    • +1

Only full builds at this stage

    Any gaming laptop deal?

    • +4

They're a desktop PC builder not a laptop builder

  • +3

14900KF ? Thought intel still hasn't fixed the high single core voltage damaging CPU's issue yet.

  • +2

i'm all for the R5-5600 but not with that MB, would love to have an option to upgrade it in the drop menu.

  • Any chance to catch the shipping box dimensions and weight? Looking to send on internationally!

  • Will the cpus be updated to Intel's new CPU Microcode 0x129?

  • How is the gaming performance compare to PS5 for the cheaper unit?

    • +2

PS5 probs wins out but all all depends on if you like couch vs seated gaming and what games you play.

    • If you want a unit purely for gaming, then get a PS5. If you want to be able to do many other tasks on top of gaming, then get a PC.

  • Isn't it dangerous shipping a PC with the heavy video card slotted inside it? especially if the PC is being shipped to a different state?

    • +3

We take a lot of time packaging these systems with internal packaging to reduce this risk, it happens a lot less than you would think. If there is any transit damage while the PC is on it way to you, its covered by us

      • Thanks for confirming Luke, I've put in an order, can't wait.

      • I am looking to purchase and ship one of the 5600 4060 builds or 7500F 4060/4060TI builds. Is there anyway to get specific box dimensions and weight of these?

Would emailing you guys with links of the specific builds in question get a result?

        Cheers!

I'm on my second Tech fast PC after realizing a while back that I basically couldn't build my own for close to prebuild prices anymore (GPU prices due to mining, then the next things and the next). First one was a 1660ti Intel build which is still going after I passed it on to my nephew and my current 5600x and RTX3700 is still doing the business at 1440p (WFH and gaming) since Feb 2021.

Pro: Well built (well packaged for its journey interstate), prices I couldn't match making my own, I like the options toggles during the build process.
Cons: I'm old so RGB isn't for me but I got over that quick enough.

    • +2

You can turn the rgb completely off if u just hold down the button you use to change the colour presets.

      • +2

"button, what button" for all this time I just thought that thing was a cover for an unused USB slot. Cheers, if I could give you more than one upvote I would :)

    Hi Op,

Any chance to swap the Biostar mobo with some other brand?
What is the postage to Sydney?

    • You can check the exact postage by entering your post code only in the Cart page - no other details needed. The Biostar board is the only option this late in the gen.

  • Can you add a option for changing mother board for the Ryzen 5 5600 | RTX 4060 8GB Gaming PC, $748?
I need one with more dimm slot and maybe with built in WIFI.

    • Unfortunately options for this generation of system are limited now.

  • When you install Windows is it done properly, ie an OEM deployment, create a recovery environment and customer OOBE on first boot, or do you install and setup with a generic user account?

My nephew will be buying his first computer next month and I was thinking of something from you guys.

    • Yes, they are generalised and set back for the user to accept license agreement and personalise.

  • For R5-5600, RTX 4060 config is it possible to change case to Fractal Design Terra Mini ITX Case to create a mini pc for living room :)

  • How come afterpay isn’t available when purchasing from the second link? Do you guys have a limit ?
