      • We were in there at 11am Friday and there were plenty hanging up. Things may have changed since then - sorry, I only just saw your question.

  • This would be an awesome deal if only I could ever bring myself to buy an Apple product.

    • +1 lol.

    • -5

haha yea agree, i was lured with all the vibes, that I feel i should buy the itunes card, but to think of it, i dont know what i will buy with it? go and jailbreak if you want free apps, download any music or movies online…. make use of the internet…

    • You don't need to buy any Apple products for this to work for you. You can download iTunes for free and use it on your pc/laptop.
Or were you just having a dig at Apple?

    • +2

Haha! first Apple product I've bought in a long time, and I'll be giving them away as xmas gifts.

  • +4

is there an age restriction on buying itunes cards?

whenever i go in i take my wife and 2yr old. the same chick at the counter says my 2yr old son doesnt count as he cant purchase them himself. however after telling her that he is a person (condition - 2 per person) he does count

    • I'd say there would be if it seems highly unlikely the kid even knows what iTunes is. That's similar to taking in recently born babies & expecting the same offer

      • +2

He can say ipad, uses one at home and can hand over $20 to the sales drone, I think HN can't discriminate on age, pretty sure there are laws about discriminating based on age

      • +1

i can just see some mega-tightass ozbargainer people furiously procreating so they can exploit this

        • +1

9 months later: Yes! 4 cards!

    • +8

You should start by teaching him his first words - "iTunes Card. Two. Now."

    • +1

They just have a note at the counter saying - no Brodens.

    • Just buy em online.

    • +1

Provided that he can hand over the cash I don't see how they could stop 'him' buying one.

  • Hmm, HN's website says my local store is out of stock & can't do pickup. Wonder if the information is true or whether its because they're forcing people to buy instore?

    • The Adelaide city store has run out of cards. They suggested buying online with free delivery. So, I'd say what you are seeing online is correct.

    • You can buy online now on back order and pick up in store, when the new stock comes in….

  • Just returned from trying to buy iTunes bogof card deal at HN Tweed Heads. I asked a sales person for the deal, he referred me to another salesperson on the floor who told me the deal wasn't available for instore purchase, you could only order online and then pick up in store. I had the feeling I was being lied to. Going on the other comments here it looks like I was being lied to.

    • +7

      You were lied to.

      • +3

Yup, after trekking through the time warp of shocking last millennium furniture and overpriced whitegoods one arrives at the smarmy pc sales staff to be lied to. I despise HN, but for such a great deal I was willing to let my antipathy go. You live and learn.

Have ordered 5 lots online through different names and different pay methods.

    • +1

whip out your mobile ~ buy online?

Edit: guess they didnt say 1 per household

  • Do they use registered post? I wouldn't trust australia post at this time of the year. I've just been to my LPO and they can't find a parcel that was left carded in my letter box. I'd prefer to go and pick them up myself.

  • Just bought at queen st mall brissy. Might be out of stock. Ring to confirm.

  • +1

    Brought one at
Thomastown Harvey Norman, they have plenty

    • +1

I was the one who took the paper in to prove the deal to them! They photocopied the paper, so the other staff would know:) Plenty at Greensborough too, for those interested. Ooops, nearly forgot to say thanks heaps to OP.

  • Just came back from HN QV.. Plenty available.

    • +2

A guy has been standing at the counter activating iTunes cards all day lol……

  • i just got back from my local HN, initially they said the deal is 2 for $30 (which is in the catalogue), until I showed them the advert from their own website, she checked with the manager, and it was OK, so i got it in the end. I dont think she was pleased.

  • +3

Price match worked at OW in Glebe!!! $19 for $40 worth :D

    • Great. Do you mind uploading the receipt?
I had bad experience with the staff at this OW. Receipt would assist me in pricematching

      Thanks

      • yeah i can upload it. What's the best way to upload it?? I'm new to this stuff. Thanks :)

    • They just price matched it for me didn't beat it by 5%. I didn't mind though.

  • +1

    BOGOF!

  • do these cards have an expiry? thinking about picking up like 4 sets or so. i don't think its ever cheaper then 50%?

    • No, they don't expire

    • Yes they do- usually a year from the date of purchase.

  • Offer denied at OW Glen Waverley VIC. They said it was a promotional offer and they only price match.

Could anyone post a receipt of the purchase at OW or HN?

    Would be greatly appreciated

  • Harveys City Cross in adelaide had "sold out" and won't be getting any more before the end of the promotion. I've always had a tough time buying the special items from them in the past, i need to find a new harveys.

    • +11

…just buy them online - free delivery, I bought one this morning and my dog bought one an hour ago.

  • I just ordered 20 online and got all the confirmations from Harvey Norman and PayPal, lets see if they send them

    • lol all for personal use? i can't imagine myself spending that much on iTunes hehe

  • whats the expiry date on these cards?

    • I'm pretty sure there is no expiry on iTunes cards. I had one bashing around in a drawer for at least 5 years. Activated it fine the other day - I was a little surprised and impressed.

    • Expires the later of two years from date of (i) issuance or (ii) last activity on the redeeming iTunes account.

      ^ From the Apple website

  • I just got the price match at office works, they did them for $18.20 They had an email from head office with instructions on how to do it.

  • All of you guys better off getting one at Officeworks, and if your extremely lucky some staff may let you do multiple separate purchases, I've done a few myself, good friends with my manager :)

  • +3

OW in Subi WA wouldn't price match just simply said "we don't match that kind of deal". Going to email to their head office and prefer they email me the same thing in writing so i can forward to consumer protection.

  • They are meant to give you the item matched and beat., depends on managers competence, some may say its not a physical item and cant match, the policy changed abit, only time which things can't be matched, for example, when u purchase something and a iTunes card comes with it, now that's what can't be matched, further else buy one get one free should be fine.

    • I dont see why they have to match the offer. The Harvey norman website has two $20 cards , one with the bonus and one without….Officeworks dont stock the one with the bonus so I dont see why they HAVE to do it. They may do it for goodwill though.

      • Let the Consumer Protection find out for us. I will sit back and watch.

  • Many thanks!

  • Postage is now $5.95 and all local stores are sold out!

Knew I should have bought them yesterday…

  • +1

I live in sydney, my postcode can't get free delivery and most of the stores are out of stock unless I go to blacktown… so I got a pricematch at an OW near my home, 2 for 20 :-)

    • might I ask which OW?

      • Wentworthville

    • Would you mind posting your receipt?

      Would be greatly appreciated.

    • I went to HN Bella Vista. Even tho web said sold out, back order only, ask guy in store. He said go to cashier she can do it without the actual cards. She just printed it off from the terminal. I paid, then said can I have another one please. She shrugged and said I don't see why not, and put it through. LOL. Go Harvey Go!

  • OW Brisbane City wouldn't price match, and HN was out of stock. I guess mum won't be getting those iTunes cards after all.

  • "We’ll be getting more stock really soon and you can still buy on back- order." Last time they honor back orders and took only two days.

  • -6

hmm whats minimum amount ppl should buy lol? i have three sets but am tempted to buy another 2.

  • My local store was out of cards but are printing off the coupon instead so I was able to buy 3 lots (I had my kids with me!)

  • Price matched + 5% discount at local Office Works. The employee that served me said that it's a great deal :)

    • May I ask which OfficeWorks it was?

      • +1

        Gilles Plains in Adelaide

  • +2

trying to get free shipping but when i trying to check out still having have the 5.95 postage fee added. How do i get away from that!

    • I got free shipping yesterday, but I guess they got inundated with orders and thought they had better charge for shipping to make some $$$.

  • I just went to HN in Malaga,WA and they are just printing out receipts with codes on them. Got one myself and wife tried and they said 1 per family. But we set the straight and we got 1 each.

  • Yes free shipping is gone. $5.95 now for all orders but there is no limit per purchase. Just ordered 5 at 8:30am. Paid via PayPal. Have got PayPal receipt but no Harvey Norman confirmation.

    • The bad news is that after purchasing as a 'guest account' on the hn site I was asked if I wanted to create an account and so I did. After I logged in to double check the postage I am getting the message 'limit 1 per customer'.

      • I just got the HN confirmation email. I also just went back to the web page but logged out and then re-ordered as a "guest". You don't get the "1 per customer" big red warning when purchasing as a guest. It seems to only limit you to 1 order per member but do unlimited orders as a guest. So its $5.95 per order or $40 worth of itunes for $25.95 as of Sunday.

  • Just got 2 from officeworks Elizabeth SA. Included the 5% discount as well.

  • No free delivery any more it seems….

  • Local store was sold out of $20 ones, but would do any of them for 2 for 1. So i got 2 x $30 for $30.
    Happy with that.

  • Is there a code to get free shipping?

  • All sold out at Harvey Norman Broadway. Asked one of the staff if they will be getting any more $20 iTunes gift cards and he said not til after the promo. Did happen to pick up the 2 x $20 iTunes gift cards at Officeworks Lewisham + 5% discount = total $19 (see receipt below). As of 3pm 16/12/12 there were still plenty of $20 iTunes gift cards available.

    http://upload.ozbargain.com/2012/12/15/10135_2012-12-16_15.0…

  • I tried asking Officeworks in North Ryde for the deal - and they said they would not be able to price match on this promo. When I told them that other OW can do it, they said they would be in trouble with head office … scary…
I ordered mine for a collection through HN website.

    • There was an e-mail from HO telling all OW branches how to do price matching on iTunes card. I have personally read a printed copy of the e-mail when it was offered to me. The North Ryde store will be in trouble with HO, if you bother to complain.

    • I believe HN is next door to OW in north Ryde. The site says it's out of stock in-store, but that's a lie. Went in yesterday, they had plenty.

  • 2 Officeworks stores in Brisbane were more than happy to match Harvey Norman this morning. They've been notified about the sale & instructed how to put it in the cash register etc. They wouldn't beat it the price, but I'm ok with that.

  • You can buy online then pickup or go there and directly buy From Harvey Norman in Moorepark in Sydney. They sold out of Cards but are Giving Codes printing it directly from the machine (Like when you buy Prepaid Mobile codes). So you can probably buy as many as you can.

  • I ordered mine for collection and an hour later, got the email saying it's ready (but website said item was out of stock at store). I think HN hides their $20 GCs out the back to make it look like it's out of stock if you walk in. So dodgy

  • amazing ! got 2 x $20 cards for $19 at Officeworks !

pickup at counter, no wait , no stock issues.

  • I checked the Harvey Norman website last night and it said my local store, Frankston, had no stock available. So today I went into the store to see if I could get vouchers printed as other had mentioned here. To my suprise I saw $20 itunes cards in at least 2 locations around the store. I got mine but was suprised to see them after checking their website.

  • This expires tomorrow, correct? So we're able to buy (or price match) up until close of business tomorrow?
Also, how many iTunes cards were people able to buy in one transaction from OW?

    • OW were only allowing 1 x 2-for-1 $20 card per customer.

      • I see. I've seen a few receipts of people who have been successful purchasing more than 2 cards. I guess it's luck of the draw.

  • HN site showing no stock and I don't want to count on delivery before xmas - wandered over the road to OW and got them for $19, fantastic :)

    • My closest HN showed no stock but there is a store across the road (carseldine) that had tonnes of them. Girl behind the counter told me that they took all the stock from the Aspley store.

Also went and picked up a couple from Officeworks at Aspley. 3 shops within 100m of each other. Interestingly my OW processed them as 2 x $10 cards. Not the $19 that some people here have received.

  • To buy more or to not buy more… that is the question.

    • This deal seems to come up every 2 months now .. so I don't feel the need to go over the top.

      • I got another 2 in the end… that will do me for a while!

  • Delivery now cost $5.95 :-(

  • I got emailed both of the codes today, with the option for them to be sent in the mail. I prefer the email delivery method and was always planning on using them myself, so no biggie.

    • +1

This is going to cause issues if you ask me. Luckily I also went into a HN store and picked up some of the actual cards.

I think a lot of people were purchasing these as gifts for others for Christmas. The email I received was pretty unprofessional and also mentioned that if you wanted the cards themselves that it was unlikely you would get them before Christmas.

      Poor form IMO.

Also, the people who did pay for the postage and handling….what are they actually paying for? Some random bloke at a random HN store to send them an email?!

      • +1

I just got the email too, a bit annoying as I wanted them for xmas pressies. The email says that if you choose to get them sent out, then they'll send an invalidated card to use with the emailed codes. Luckily they're just for my husband, but if it was anyone else I'd feel weird giving them an invalid iTunes card to use with a printed code.

    • yeah I got the email too, for only 1 of my 2 orders, I wanted them for Xmas presents so asked for the physical cards…

  • Thanks OP. I got 3 all up, 1 per person, per day ;-)

Mine are AusPost deliveries and 1 store pick up. No mention of email codes for mine.
