Not the lowest ever but genuine Brother toner for $96 at TGG. I got it for 5% pricebeat at Officeworks for $91.20 each.

  Don't update your firmware and generics are under $20. Work well in my experience with Brothers, but Google for specific models.

    yeah I updated my firmware recently not thinking about it and locked myself out of all my generic toners 😒😒😒

      I've updated the firmware multiple times already, didn't know it blocked generic toners. Did you try a generic toner and did it actually fail?

        yep my generic toner came up with "No Toner" and the printer asked me to insert a toner. I opened up a brand new generic toner and same thing. Then I purchased a genuine toner and it detected the toner instantly.

        The issue is either the chip on the generic toner is faulty/dead or the firmware is rejecting it. Most likely firmware as the brand new generic toner is not detected AT ALL in the printer.

        Once my genuine toner runs out I'll swap the chip and see if my generic toner comes to life

          @irev1: This is a good tip - I just updated my firmware and my non genuine toners are working but I'm gonna stop there!
