Ships 02/05/25 though, keep that in mind.
Might be a pricing error?

It says “leaves our partner warehouse in …”
This reddit thread warns that “partner warehouse” means major delays:
https://www.reddit.com/r/bapcsalesaustralia/comments/1irzydm…I missed out last night and ended up going through JW… I can say that last night i was able to add 39 to my cart successfully and this morning I checked again and was only able to add 16 - hopefully that means they have correctly allocated stock.
Time will tell if I get shafted.
Save $130 for a 2 month wait. Pretty good if it doesn’t get delayed more.
Although technically this isn't in stock this is how it compares to others with todays in stock prices that I could find overnight. 27% better value than the 5070ti!
https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/47948/120222/20250307-…
Not bad, won't fit my case being tripple slot.. oh well!
the price that seems to be staying in stock right now is the Gigabyte at $1349 at pccg, scorptech, centrecom etc, which is only 10% better value than the 5070ti.
which is better ? this one or 5080?
Isn't the naming convention of the card obvious enough as to what it's targeting?
Yes and no. AMD have horrible naming of their cards, you gotta admit that.
Not just AMD…. nearly every other brand.
Undeniably the 5080 is better, but at over 2x the price, you would expect it to be at least twice as good, which it isn’t.. Check my link above for a comparison
Don't we kind of expect some diminishing returns in 2025, or ..?
In the past people used to be happy to pay 2x for a 40% bump.
1k+ even accounting for currency inflation for midrangers is already steep and puts 5080 out of reach for many, but if its what you do a lot/semi professionally..I pay 30x more for a table tennis rubber that's only 2x as good.
Sure, and I think toa certain point the 2x/40% thing was understandable, but the 5080 is like 2.5x the price of a 9070xt for 15% performance bump.
That's a shitty deal no matter how you slice it.
Depends on the price of the 5080, the resolution you want to play at, the game you want to play, and the frame rate you expect…
if the 5080 does what you need and the 9070 does not, then price may not matter…If they both outdeliver what you need, then the price / performance ratio matters.. Personally I do not buy any card north of about $1100, ever.
I'm playing minecraft on a $700 6800XT and it's plenty overkill at 1440P / 120FPS for example
This one is like 3990 better if we go by number /s
This is more closely linked to a 5070 Ti. This card is probably the best price/power. The truth is the Nvidia card will have some exclusive options you won't be able to use (DLSS) and will have better ray tracing support, however this card has it's own exclusive "FSR 4" which will go head to head against Nvidia. As a responsible computer owner, it's definitely worth researching into these things and finding out if it's right for you! FWIW if I was in your position of requiring a new card, I'd personally go with this as the competition is like double the price.
Prices seem to be inline with RRP if the base brand is $599 in US, and "partner cards" typically $50 more, isn't that about $1,130 ~ adding delivery or included?
Either way, plays around 10% under a 5070Ti , which is about $1400… so they nailed the pricing for performance pretty well. All sellers seem to be saying 1st May though. I can wait.
95% of 5070Ti’s performance at only 60% of its price—great value!
Word on the street is AMD offered rebates to all wholesalers, so after this initial batch is out, prices to rise ~USD50 across all units
yeh that's what they are saying but Azor also said MSRP cards will be resupplied … i don't really believe it and i'm fairly certain they want the $1399-1449 to be the norm (at least the AIB and retailers do).
the rebate exists to account for the inflated price aibs, distributors, and stores paid for the cards before the cut. amd can continue selling at the new price by selling the gpus themselves to their partners at a lower cost later. at least that makes sense to me
is this good for 1440p 480Hz ?
or should I get Ngreedia GPU480Hz? Get the 5070 TI
yep, got the new monitor from OzB deal like weeks ago.
should I go for 5080 instead? or 5070 ti is better value? No reason to get the 5070ti over the 9070xt unless you really want some of the NVIDIA features (particularly for productivity gains)
What games do you play?
FPS games like Valorant, Warzone. also games like Minecraft w/shader. I wanna try Bodycam one tho when I buy new gpu.
dont play AAA games much, but I dont need 480 fps when I play AAA.That might be an issue. I have heard it has problems with valorant from looking online and everyone is talking about cs2 performance being bad but that probably will be fixed. Warzone should be fine. Minecraft should be fine it just depends on the type of shader. If you can wait that's probably the best option right now.
480hz is generally quite a struggle for any game and at 1440p. CS2 probably is a little unoptimised, but honestly you should be pretty comfortable with most eSports games given that you have a powerful CPU. A 9070xt should be enough but always check game specific benchmarks for each card.
@crimsson: Actually using the word 'struggle' is a bit harsh, mb. Hitting 480fps+ consistently is a little bit hard, but running at 400ish fps is pretty doable.
Refer to here
https://www.techspot.com/review/2961-amd-radeon-9070-xt/#Cou…Basically: 5080 is a boost to 500fps @ 1440p medium settings for CS2. Expensive though. However, the 5070ti is really not far behind at about 480fps.
HOWEVER, you could also get a 7900XTX which is really strong for CS2, top of the charts, easily pushes above 480fps.
5070ti currently performs much better than 9070xt in CS2, although this is somewhat an anomaly and many chalk it up to drivers (but ofc, depends if you want to make that gamble).
I really can't stress enough though that the priority is to get a powerful CPU, ideally an X3D one.
Sorry if that was a bit of an info dump. The graphs linked should help a lot though.
OOS. Actually had it in cart and “reserved” but got nuked before I could finish. Not pleased.
I think it does let you reserve but it broke for you? It was out of stock on my end then suddenly in stock so I might have got your card 😞. I'm sorry
I went back into Payment from Review Order then back into Review where it threw an error on an item in cart. Tested it then on the Sapphire and session token holds fine going back and forth, although I’m irrationally mad at them now because I’ve had time to talk myself out of needing it.
Glad you snuck one in. It’d be completely wasted on me anyway having a newborn
Back in stock if you still want it. Good luck
OOS :(
I think I just got the last one
Man I'm glad I grabbed my 7900GRE a few months ago at $860, this whole gen has been a disaster..
Same! I was thinking I was gonna regret buying early but now I am extremely glad. GPU prices are ridiculous now
Yeah it boggles my mind a bit, growing up I had a GTX760 for like 9 years, then a 1660ti for 4-5 years and I then went 6700XT -> 7900GRE. Price wise this GRE would have been the absolute top dog if I went back to those past generations and now we're looking at $1100 or so for cards that are just over mid-range or above the lowest tier (xx60 series?)
You used to be able to build beast budget PC's that were much better than consoles for not that much more money than a console and now just the GPU costs twice as much as the consoles. I think the golden era's long gone..
Seems like everything's being run into the ground these days…
I consider the 70 series pretty upper mid tier. But the fact that 60 series cards are likely going to probably cost 800 - 900 (as much as the GRE was) is ridiculous. And there's a real possible chance they will be bad value.
I hope Intel keeps pushing in the budget department (but Intel as a company isn't really looking great atm). AMD also should have undercut the 5070 with their 9070, but now they're both just not great value.
Honest question, what is the disaster with the 9070 and 9070 XT?
Prices are just horrible for what they are. If you look at benchmarks for the 9070 non-xt versus my $860 7900GRE. There's like a 10% performance uplift for a 30% price increase? They want $1050-1200 for a 9070. However, my GRE is also not in production now? What other GPU can you get at $860 that performs similarly? The equivalent 4070 supers are like $950-1100 on average. We shouldn't be seeing exponential price increases for what is essentially a new generation of card whilst also not seeing exponential increases in performance?
Look at benchmarks here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ov_Lux5tsxg - The only game that even really got more than a 10 frame increase was CyberPunk.
It's rubbish? So I got a spreadsheet out and did some counting. Using that video, at 2160p, games that have 10+fps more on the RX 9070 than the 7900 GRE:
God Of War Ragnarok, Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon Forbidden West, Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us Part 1, Assassin's Creed Mirage, Red Dead Redemption 2, Atomic Heart, Doom Eternal.
I think % is more important measurement tool than pure fps.RX 9070 vs RX 7900 GRE: +18% fps at 2160p or +15% fps at 1440p and 1080p, greatly improved ray tracing (+33%), FSR 4 vs FSR 3, 220W vs 260W, $1099 vs $860 (28% increase).
How do you feel about those measured values?
At $1099, you might as well get the RX 9070 XT at $1171. That has a 36% improvement over the 7900 GRE for a 36% price increase.
@FabMan: Imagine bothering with 4k in this day and age when most games are barely running at 1440p with the way they're optimized..
From what I've read, they're likely going to implement some form of FSR4 into the 7800's and up anyway. I don't really care about wattage. I've saved like $310 getting this card so I think 40w it's negligible long term.
I think the measured values are still bad. I grew up being able to build a whole mid-range PC for $1200. Now we're getting JUST a GPU for that price and the games are still all blurry and upscaled. Hell I think a $860 GPU is inane. These prices were getting you to an almost 4090 tier back in the day.So we can see there are high end cards available at stupid prices yes. But where are the value cards now? 5070 has rubbish value for $1200 so what's next a $800 5060? where are the $400-500 cards that are good?
In it's time my $400 1660TI ran everything on high no worries. I don't think what is being delivered + the prices are worth what they're costing now.
Next generation we'll be looking at $1800 for a graphics card that just runs modern games since they're pre-baking raytracing now? That's insane.@BaccyChan: This isn't a this generation problem then, this is the issue since just after the RTX 3000 series release in 2020, 4 1/2 years ago. It bothers me too, but it is now what we have to deal with, it isn't going back. I grew up purchasing expensive PC's in the 90s, before the price dropped. You can get a RTX 4060 for $450, that can play many games at high, slap on DLSS Quality when it supports it to get a bump in fps too. It isn't so bad. So the RX 9070 series doesn't stand out as a bad choice when compared to its competition, it is just that this is the market now.
Still like in stock at Centrecom for $1,199

My bad
https://www.pbtech.com/au/product/VGASAP390711/Sapphire-PURE…
Still in stock for anyone who missed out on the PulseDeal is available again. Just ordered mine and successfully got order confirmation, seems to restock every so often.
Joining the waiting list, will keep an eye out for other stock options if / when they come up.
Let's hope they don't cancell and jack pricing due to demand, a good time for questionable tactics.Back in stock
https://www.pbtech.com/au/product/VGAPOW290720/Powercolor-Re…
Also for preorder
Still think the pulse is a better deal though because of the bigger size and probably better cooling.
ended up getting the hellhound for the dual bios and LED toggle
just got an email from pbtech saying the order is ready for pickup by their courier?
is that just to appease paypal overlords or is it actually getting shipped already?Implies real stock and allocation
If I buy one of these, but then a locally stocked reaper or something else under $1200 pops up before may, can this easily be cancelled for immediate full refund?
It does have a cancel button but I haven't tested it because this is still the best deal.
Order now and it ships on 08 May
We need a new banner symbol like the OOS or EXPIRED one but for BACKORDER for backorders more than 1 month out
Hellhound @ $1208.78 showing in stock with 14th March dispatch.
PRIME @ $1399.42 showing in stock with same day dispatch.I wish. 9070XT Hellhound ships 16 May.
The non-xt hellhound ships 14th march
have people who ordered this got confirmed ETA
I ordered the hellhound and it's already been shipped even tho it said ETA may 16
Are you charge before shipping or only after it?
My original order got cancelled with a new order for an ETA of 23rd April.
I was a ~4am order for the Pulse on release day. Original ETA was May, then April, then yesterday marked as shipped. These guys seem legit!
Same here but status says Delivering, could you track?
Can't track yet, it was late Friday so I'm guessing it'll start moving Monday/Tuesday.
Tracked! Status: Departure from New Zealand as of 18/03
Ordered 9/3, shipped today.
shipped on 2nd Apr from NZ post ?
Now that stock is mostly out everywhere else, this might be a good valued option (if they follow through). I can’t see prices dropping anytime soon with such demand. Worst case you could cancel and get your money back. I’m on a 980ti, I can wait another month 😆
