Garbage, just give us a proper FVF deal ebay, you dogs.

    • +2

This is unlimited 0% FVF. If you know that a buyer is interested in your item, you could potentially generate a new listing under one of these categories and send it to them

      • Interesting, anyone done this and still received the no FVF? I want sell some PC stuff.

        • +1

As long as its in the categories eligible, it should work.
I did this where I sold a bunch of video games for $1750 but they were categorised as a shirt or something when I had a promo that had 0 fvf for used fashion.

Cant make any promises because stuff may have changed or go wrong.

      • +3

Buyers generally don't trust these kinds of shenanigans, unless they know you personally, in which case you don't need eBay at all.

        • +1

I've done it plenty of times and it works most of the time

          • @nicholasv: Thanks bro

            • +3

@Bargaphile: Only thing is that you might get less views because ebay sometimes autosearches in a relevant category

E.g. If I searched "computer mouse", it might search in the category of computers, and your listing won't show up

  • i have stuff listed atm. do i close them and relist?

    • +2

Yep, new listing as per T&Cs

      • Does re-list count as a new listing?

        • +2

Use the sell similar option. I don't think re-listing would work.

        • +1

          Nope. Got burnt once

        • +4

No re-listing won't work. Create new listing

  • so technically I could list anything under those categories. and get the final fee lifted :D

    • I might try it.

    • Probably but no one will be able to find them since the eBay search filters into categories

    • You could. But they will charge the fees if they figure it out

  • Is a Funko Pop one of the above, does anyone know?

    • Yes Funko included, I put a listing up and it went to that category by Default… if not, list it there, as it is an action figure.

  • +1

FFS put the condition that you have accept the offer if it is available to you.

Do not list or sell untill you confirm that.

    • +1

And get a screen capture of the formal acceptance in case things go pear shaped.

    No F thanks!

There's no money to make me get back to Jwbay, noooo, way!

Sell if it's something of low value and you don't care, otherwise be warned.

The buyer can for WHATEVER reason after using the item for a month or two request and get a FULL refund and return you the item. You? You'll get that item used, done to it whatever has been done AND you'll have to give back a full refund. The 3rd world clowns working at that slavery store will reassure you constantly how there's nothing to worry… Until there is 🤣🤦

Have fun and enjoy your new endeavors! ❤️

    • +2

      Jwbay? Jehovahs witness bay?

    • Well you came in a little hot but this comment isn't that far off the mark, I think you'd have done ok without the "clowns" remark.

The reason for it though unfortunately is because eBay became a place for massive sellers, it's a retail shopfront for all intents and purposes, the buyer protection rules were ramped up significantly to meet ACCC standards and seller abuse in this area.

Private sellers get caught in the ride, this side relies on honest people, most are but yeah, really sucks when you get the scammers.

  • +1

Thanks, might list this special Lego 5090…

  • I like that the promotion is for "Collectable Toys" but Collectables & Art > Collectables > Toys category isn't included.

I have a ton of Funko Pops I want to sell.

  • -1

Just sold an item under the Action Figures & Accessories and was still charged the FV fee.

    • +2

Did you get a promotion offer from eBay and accept it?

You need to activate the deal.

      Like this on mobile.

    • Was it also a brand new listing that you created today?

  • Any limit on how many items / listings. Doesnt really specify so i guess any items listed and sold in March?

    • I can't see a limit but the item doesn't need to sell in March. It just needs to be listed/relisted before the promotion period ends (31st March 2025 11:59pm)

      • Thanks

      • +1

I think it does need to be listed and sell during the promotion. From the terms…

        What is the Promotion?

Eligible Sellers will pay 0% Variable Fees (a component of eBay Final Value Fees, as defined below) on Eligible Items that are newly listed and sold between the Registration Date and the end of the Promotion Period

        What is Excluded

any item sold before or after the Promotion Period…

        • Good find. That never was the case with these promotions. You could create a 30 day listing at the final minute of the promotion period and you were good to go. eBay are getting worse every year. FFS.

          • @MS Paint: Will try, it used to work like that in the past but I think they changed. The last time they had similar free promo, they did charge me when I sold the month after (yeah, I relisted before end-of-month). They credited back the fee after I complained to chat, but it was more on the goodwill gesture, since the T&C itself saying that we had to sell within the period.

might try to flog some warhammer ive been wanting to get rid of

  • +3

They’re killing me with no fee free on general items for months, even on eBay plus. I have a large stockpile of items to sell but their 13%+ is just too much…

    • +1

Yes, its been a long time since they offered 0% FVF. Disappointing.

And their regular 50% off postage offers only apply to people who sell less than 100 items per year. Even people selling the odd item they don't need can easily breach that.

  • +1

eBay also offered me 0% fees on second hand clothes. Might apply to others as both deals were launched at the same time.

    • Here’s the link to activate the offer:
      https://www.ebay.com.au/sellercentre/promo/1017754

    • I got this offer too. Noticed that in the T&C's an eligible item must be of a specific condition:

      with one of the following item conditions: “New without tags”, “New with defects”, “Pre-owned - Excellent”, “Pre-owned - Good” or “Pre-Owned - Fair”;

However, when i listed my item, i wanted to select "Pre-owned - Excellent" but the only option available to select was "Pre-owned". No way of choosing Excellent, Good or Fair.

I hope this still qualifies? Anyone had any experience with this? Thanks

      • +4

yeah that's typical ebay style to make simple thing complicated.
yes just "Pre-owned" will do, I've sold one with $0.3 plain fee.

        • thanks for confirming!

  • can i list a guitar as a toy ?

    • Give it a crack but it might not appear in searches and some people may be suss of obviously wrong category

  • +3

Can confirm this works. Re listed everything, and sales today have no FVF

    • So there’s no limit on how many items you sell?

    • Hi what exact category did you list it in and how?
There are several sub categories to navigate through.

      • +2

        LEGO (R) Building Toys

        Sub categories don’t matter

  • Does that mean there would be no fees for promoted listings during this offer?

    • +1

There will still be fees on promoted listings, you just pay the portion of the promotion. The FVF will be credited as a fee credit.

  • Concerned about this condition…

"Eligible Items that are newly listed and sold between the Registration Date and the end of the Promotion Period"

Previously, if an item was listed during but sold AFTER the end of the promo period you would still get the promo benefit.

I'll probably relist (sell similar) anyway on the 31st. Be interesting to see what happens if something sells in April.

  • Apr now, should I end the lists?

    • +2

Worked today for me so don't end the listings just yet I reckon.

  • Anyone made a sale today from March listing and zero fee charged?

    • +4

Sold one just now and wasn't charged a FVF.

So it looks like it still works.

      Also cheers OP! 🍺

      • +1

Yay…glad I relisted (sell similar) everything last night

        • +2

Can confirm I also sold an item and have no FVF

          • +2

@fedwood: Can confirm this 0% (for toys) works for me too. However I also got the other offer of 50% (for non-toys) that expired at the end of last month too, and that didn't work (I got charged full price for non-toys sold today)

  • Does anyone know relisted times (not sell similar) from last promotion have incurred fees?

  • Just saw a new promo pop in my account but only 75% this time > https://www.ebay.com.au/sellercentre/promo/1018471

How did everyone go selling things that weren't collectables under the collectable category?
