Just came across this, seems like a good deal. Haven't booked myself but looks like you don't need to verify student status to use the coupon code.

title is misleading that price is only for WA

  • +3

Airlines: Cathay Pacific, Philippine Airlines, Qantas, Singapore Airlines, Asiana Airlines, Malaysian Airlines, Virgin Australia Airlines, Fiji Airways, Emirates, Jet Star

But almost certainly the flight will be budget option like Jetstar or Virgin via Cairns

    • +3

Given Virgin cut their Cairns - Tokyo route, it’ll probably be Jetstar via Cairns/Brisbane now.

I honestly don't think that is a good deal.

    1. Does not seem to account for cost to travel between each location and even getting to and from the airport.
    2. Not enough time to see much at each location.
    3. Not direct flights so you will have a stop over somewhere, which they claim is no more than 6hrs. So you dont get to choose your flights.
    4. Fine print even states "Depending on flight schedules and transfers, the first or the last night might not be entirely spent in the hotel" so you might get screwed over there as well.
    5. Also shows there is further room charges per person/night at each hotel. Says choice of hotels, but you only get one choice at each location.

If you are interested in going, I would research a bit and make your own Itinerary and not cost you too much more either depending on when you go. IE grabbing return free flights.
Just my 2 cents. Was originally looking at doing a package like this ourselves but choose to make our own arrangements and could do what we wanted.

    • Yeah you just copy all the places they go and how they get there.
      You save heaps.
It just takes some time to plan it out.

The deal itself is worth about the same as return flights.. pretty good gig if you ask me

      • +2

It absolutely is not. On the dates I'm travelling return flights on a full service airline are $900.. this is $1750.

With coupon code drops to $1539.12 so you’re getting 7 nights of accomodation for the $600 difference

          • @TheFreaK: Its a shared room though so isn't that $1200?

There should be cheaper room accommodation options

            • -1

@relentless: Accommodation in Japan averages $200 per night, split by 2 $100 per night * 7 is $700 for accommodation p/p

Still up $100 with this deal worst case.

I'd also be interested in seeing any other flight + accommodation packages that come close to the value of the above.

              • @TheFreaK: With Japan I would rather organise the accom myself. The hotel rooms there are much more on the smaller side compared to Aus and most of the $200 per night in places like tokyo are going to get you a pretty small room unless you hunt around and check the room details. So these flights and accom packages are not going to leave you with much choice unless you are getting a more expensive package.

Unless the hotels are 4/5 stars, ~$200 per night, otherwise it is not worth.
    Flight ticket around $1100 from Sydney, + hotels costs ~$2200 + $1600 = $3800.
2 person ~$2700 to purchase the vouchers.
