Cheapest price I could find for the legion go. obviously not as good as the Bing Lee deals back in the day but this on sale from the outlet store so i dont think they'lll be coming back. performance seems to be on similar with the Asus Ally X but for half the price. I'd take that deal. Hope this helps for anyone looking at a more 'portable' gaming experience. Hopefully someone can find a portable charger for these~

I apologies for not knowing how many left is in stock.

Note: Lenovo Outlet web page describes stocks as NEW but user reported Lenovo Sales described stocks as RETURNED (within 1 week) and comment #2

    these are used stock, fyi

      • +16

they are used, i spoke to multiple agents who confirmed that they were returned within the return period and are discounted because of that. that is why they are not eligible for refund, because they have already been opened/refunded.

        • +25

The type of scummy business practices I’d expect from Lenovo.

          • +14

@PainToad: Indeed. To label them new just because they've been returned during the refund window is pretty shady. I'm glad I confirmed multiple times before buying. That also explains why it's been this price for about a month now and are still in stock.

        • +6

If I had time, I'd raise this issue with the ACCC. "New" has a meaning, and "customer return" isn't it.

I guess they're bargaining on people being too lazy to report them for deceptive advertising. And unfortunately, that's probably a safe bet.

I bought it this., last year from outlet store, it was brand new sealed pack.

  • +1

I have been watching this for a while hoping they will lower the price back down toward the lows of last year. Might be wise to do the same if you don't need it soon, has been this price for the last couple of weeks and hasn't sold out yet (despite them always saying almost sold out, act now)

    • +2

The price of the whole outlet store increased a lot. it was $749 last year

      • +2

exactly and now from what someone said these $899 ones not brand new at all, thats very bad & dodgy Lenovo …

        • +1

The one I received is sealed. I bought 3 laptops and 1 legion go. only one laptop box is dirty and not sealed.

  • +4

Just spoke to another rep who has again confirmed "The are new but not sealed. General outlet store item are return items by customer within 1 week."

Great device, just remember tweaking is required for those not used to running Windows.

If you want the Steam Deck experience, you can install Bazzite on it which makes it a great user friendly experience.

    The Screen is amazing too.

The only downside is the lack of battery power, you are looking at 1-2hrs depending on the TDP you use.

Do note there is also an LG2 coming out in later 2025 which will have the Z2E chip and an OLED screen, personally I would be waiting for that, but at $899 you are still getting an amazing device.

One final thing to note, is that this thing is huge and quite uncomfortable, I would recommend going into JB and trying out a display unit before buying, or buy some 3D printed comfort grips to give it a more cushy feel in your hand.

    • Can I install bazzite on an external disk, and boot from there? I don't want to mess with the existing windows install on the lego

      • +1

Just dualboot on your internal ssd if you want to keep windows.

        • I just did this with my Ally. I did the extra painful steps of another partition for shared game folders.

        • I know I can, but I'd prefer to boot from external ssd. Is there a guide that shows how to do this?

          • +1

@devpress: Boot from MicroSD seems to be no.

Boot from external USB drive maybe? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRCV2pI-ZSM

          • +1

@devpress: Your specific use cause isn't super common so you'll need to adapt other guides.

You'll need a few things: 16gb USB, usb c hub, keyboard, and probably an external SSD.

You need to load up the bazzite ISO on the USB drive. Plug it all together and connect it to the Legion Go. Restart into the BIOS to change the boot drive and select the bazzite installer. Install bazzite onto the SSD and then change the preferred boot drive to the SSD which now has bazzite installed.

There's a couple of ways to do it, one of which I outlined briefly here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/896192#comment-16317574, but that will blow away the current Windows install.

If you want to keep the existing Windows installation, the recommendation is to use Windows to Shrink the drive, and then install Bazzite on the remaining space.

battery power, you are looking at 1-2hrs depending on the TDP you use.

How come a company selling handheld with thst kind of battery? Its almost like a failed product

      • They are in cahoots with the mobile battery manufactures :)

      • These are first generation devices which always have some weirdly bad design decisions, which someone once told me was often the accountants trying to reduce the risk profile.

The LeGo2 prototype at CES had double the battery and memory. Whether that survives into the retail version, we'll see.

    • Which is the better value buy, this or the steam deck?
I don't play much new games.

  • How about price match with other retailers, would be able to get brand new?

    • it is brand new from the outlet store.

    • I just tried via JB, they rejected on the grounds that it is both from an outlet store and limited/low stock

      • I believe this is the safest and most reliable approach. Try price matching with a reputable retailer instead of buying directly from Lenovo. This makes returns and refunds easier to handle. If the retailer rejects the price match, it’s a sign that the original listing may have issues.

it was $749 from the same store last year. I bought one to play genshin impact

Isn't that a crappy freemium mobile game? Why would you need this to run it?

      • +9

        yes

      • It has mobile phone and Windows versions. The phone version's quality is not as good as the Windows one's, and the Android version can't use a controller. This one is perfect for me when I can't or don't want to use my desktop to play.

        • Wow still no controller support for Android?

I remember playing that a few years ago during lock down, one of the reasons I bought a tab S8 ultra only to find out controllers weren't officially supported. Ended up playing on pc instead and streaming to the tablet when I wanted to play around the house.

Cleaned out the map then quit when the only way to progress the challenges were to spend obscene amounts of money.

          • @krisspy: The next update will allow Bluetooth connected controller

            • @RichardF89: Oh how many times have I heard that before lmao.

It's never gonna happen, they have some sh*tty exclusivity deal with Apple. Same reason only ios devices have the highest textures or can run at 120fps without mods.

        • I've played with backbone one controller on Android… This was a reply about Genshin impact on Android

    • based and gachapilled

    • Now that’s not a bad price for it even if used - most folk on fb marketplace are selling for 800+

  • Waiting for the lenovo legion go s

  • Any recommendations for better input options besides remapping buttons through the Legion Space app? The app doesn’t let you use the joysticks as a mouse and scroll wheel like the Steam Deck does. I’m using Controller Companion along with remapped buttons in Legion Space, but it’s really inconsistent. Every time I launch a game, I have to switch to a different profile in Legion Space that restores the stock controller inputs, which is a bit of a hassle.

  • All the steam deck competitors seem to have either released products with design defects, or practice shady business policies.

patiently, awaiting the release of steam deck 2,

  • GoG is great, it’s also very easy to install games purchased from them on the steam deck.

  • going on a business trip to the U.S. soon can I buy one of these as a tax deductible? lol I am using it during work ours on a plane lol.

    • Hey…you can try to tax deduct anything, but if you get audited good luck telling the ATO "Ozbargain said it was ok"

The outlet store with fake outlet price. This is a deal price from time to time.

  • Apart from this being "Used - return" stock, is it actually good handheld pc device for gaming?

  • One of these replaced my lounge PC 6 months ago. Been great.

  • Just an update: received mine and it was all seal, just some minor scratches on the box. Definitely not used.
