Some stores in Brisbane have hundreds in stock - not sure if it recently changed or what.
Not much out of Brisbane though
Thanks mate. Saw that one but I prefer the 4Ah ones. 2.5ah does not last long in my Ozito cordless mower.
2.5Ah is great for short bursty stuff like an impact driver or drill but I agree for anything longer running like the mower you definitely want the extra capacity. Even on my little blower the 2.5ah runs out wayyy quicker than the 2.5Ah.
Even on my little blower the 2.5ah runs out wayyy quicker than the 2.5Ah.
That makes sense. Cheers
Try changing the 2.5Ah for the other 2.5Ah
I don't mind the 2.5ah for work lights or fan on low. But definately prefer 4ah. Wish they would do more deals with the 5.2ah again. I find I use them the most lately.
The 5.2 are great. I used 2 in the mower, had 2 bars after mowing the lawn. Then moved one of them to the snipper, did the yard, moved it to the blower, did the deck/rest of yard. Then moved it to the portable fan to chill on the deck, ran for 6 hours Sat, 4 hours Sun, still showing 2 bars lol.
@Tarinedier: I've been tempted to try the 8ah, kinda wish they would go on sale once in a while too.
If they replace the 2 chargers with a double charger, I'll get one.
Plenty of stock in Vic , but I cannot get to it via the thumbnail, nor the direct product url ("Oops, this product is no longer available")
https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-4-0ah-battery-mult…
Use private browsing/incognito and I can get to it and order - (similar to the last couple of deals)
I'm in VIC and the direct thumbnail/link works for me (Firefox, Chrome and Safari). Maybe a browser/addon issue?
yep you are right actually, I have 2 extensions that have been giving me probs - the penny didn't drop!
thanks GG
Going incognito makes it appear and can be added to cart, but then when I say I want it delivered to Qld, "Item not available for delivery in this area. Please enter an alternative postcode or suburb for delivery."
I would almost get this but I am hoping on some deals with extra skins and batteries. Believe it or not I would like an extra charger or two, crazy I know. I am not up to the stage where I just need batteries yet!
There's gotta be an ozbargainer or two near you with a crate full of spare chargers 😄
I bet there is but thats also why I don't want to get any more, almost guarantee in 6 months I am going to have too many LOL
It's quite possible that the promo dual charger + 2x 4Ah batteries for $99 will come back again.
That's what I'm waiting around for
patiently waiting for another trade in deal for their 5.2ah batteries. Got some in the one in sept and it really does give the extra grunt needed for the steeldeck mower over the 4ah's.
Ozito have/had a trade in deal?
yeah trade in any 18V battery and get $50 off the dual 5.2ah pack was last september. Brought it to $149.
Yeah it was trade in any battery and get 2 x 5.2ah for $149.
Waiting for a similar deal again, loving the 5.2ah's
Don't know how I missed that! I would get on it for sure, I have a few ageing batteries I could trade in.
Shame on fkn Ryobi!
Does Ryobi price match offers like these?
Never. Their range is not budget friendly. If I want good tools its Makita, nothing in between, either cheap lole Ozito or Makita. that's it Roybi is in between and charge you an arm and leg
With chargers can we hack the connections with alligator clips to charge different brands ?
I guess so if you want to risk burning your house/shed down.
Some brands have the battery managment external to the battery. PXC have battery management on the battery.
I would expect bad things if you tried this charger on a battery that is expecting the charger to have the management circuit.
You can hack it , but don't forget the temp sensor. It might be the same type, a 10k ntc thermistor.
Otherwise, to much trouble so you probably bypass it. Which is not wise for a fast charger.
Couple of ideas for your "spare" batteries:
DC Power Supply:

Soldering Station:
Can you help me found an adapter to use this battery on ryobi devices?
Thanks but do you have a link for ozito to aldi ferrex tool adapter? Thanks
@HenryGalilei: Just search on AliExpress - that's all I'm doing. Use "einhell" instead of or as well as Ozito.
https://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-einhell-adapters.html
I have the Ryobi one and the Dyson one about a year ago, both still performing well.
Nice find on the power supply - have you tried it? Any good?
Not got round to using either of them yet other than to turn them on but they look to be pretty good quality.
Are these the ones that catch fire ?
I have 2x 4ah and 2x 2.5ah batteries (all came with kits) for 6 tools including 36v mower. I am managing fine, but if there was 2 pack for $70ish as before, i would buy it as backup batteries.
Nice deal, I used to power the 12V ride-on cars with these batteries
Is it legal/against site terms and conditions to ask if anyone wants to go thirds?
I just need one battery, and this is cheaper than second hand on marketplace. Please delete if inappropriate.
sent pm
Ill get the other one
The other guy was in Sydney, so one is still available, other than yours.
Melbourne, for anyone else interested.
Happy to take one battery too. Can pick up from Parramatta or CBD if anyone’s interested. Thanks.
More of a Ryobi guy. It's just my attitude.
Are these good with the Dyson converter to use on V7 cordless vac?
yep, swapped to the ozito converter when our Dyson battery died - works no probs, I use either the 2.5 or the 4's.
Just be aware that the Dyson won't attach to the wall mount/recharger after attaching the converter (if you have/use that)
i did this recently with Ryobi batteries. Brilliant increased runtime, and also a very noticeable jump in performance (Mostly 6/9Ah HP batteries, I don't see much sense in converting if you'tr not going to twke advantage of inreased runtime and power. Im certainly glad to see Ozito's higher capacity batteries become much more affordable. My partner will be happy this xmas when she gets something bigger than a pair of 5.2's for the lawnmower
PSA: using smaller batteries on high-current tools will always be terrible (as in EVEN WORSE than just dividing the capacity).
It helps to visualise it: the small 2.5ah packs have 5 cells, while the bigger packs have 10 or more cells. In order to get 180watts at 18volts, you’re pulling 10amps from the pack. That means 2amps per cell on the small pack, but only 1amp per cell on the bigger pack.
But there’s more! The higher the current draw from a cell, the more the “voltage droop” due to increased internal resistance (this resistance also wastes energy as heat). So the tool draws even more amps to make up for the voltage droop, which in turn wastes even more energy as heat.
The pack voltage drops as its stored energy is used, and all of this stress (more than double on the smaller pack) means it will reach its cutoff voltage when it actually has a fair bit of stored energy remaining. So a high powered tool won’t even be able to use all the energy in the pack.
That said, the smaller packs are MUCH more convenient in low-powered handheld tools like drills and drivers.
TLDR: high powered tools can only access about 75% of a 2.5ah pack’s energy, but 90% of a 4ah pack’s energy. All else equal, the larger pack should also live twice as long.
True but the 2.5AH batteries are 20650 cells if I recall correctly, and are rated 40A ? output and the std 4.0AH are 18650 and are 25A. So a bit closer in capability than say the 2.0AH which are 18650 cells.
I believe the 5.2AH are also 20650 cells and for reference the new sealed batteries and the 6.0ah & 8.0AH and 21700.
Below is the watt output ratings from Einhells website.
I have posted this on prior thread but its a good reminder of the differences in the battery outputs.
2.0AH 450 watts.
2.5AH 720 watts
4.0AH 900 watts
5.2AH 1260 watts
6.0AH 1350 watts
8.0AH 1350 watts
The new sealed batteries.
3.0AH 900 watts
4.0AH 900 watts
The recent but now unavailable slim 4.0AH packs are also 900 watts.
What is the internal resistance?
What does a watt rating even mean? Thermal limit? Peak?
Or some efficiency limit?
Username Prong explains it way better than I can. Plus he knows way more than my pea brain, He posted a comment in this thread https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/845022
About half way down.
@revheadgl: I see. It is based on the 2Ah cells being rated at 25A.
The BMU will probably trip if you exceed that, to avoid cell damage.
I found I was able to run the ebike on just 2x 2.5ah batteries. Not much range of course, but it climbed the hills.
@revheadgl: God no :)
I added some wiring so I can have a second battery on the rear rack for extended range.
I made a 2x2 Ozito pack for 36V 4Ah. It can slow-charge from the e-bike charger too.
@bargaino: Haha, I was curious as I have never seen or heard from anyone that owns one. I hope the Ozito batteries are safe using the e-bike charger, but it sounds like you have it worked out.
@revheadgl: I trust the BMS in the Ozito. Over time, 2 in series may get out of balance, so you should charge them separately once in a while.
The Ozito e-bike looks OK, just overpriced, but poor range with only 2x 5.2Ah batteries. It really needs 4, as I've done.
This guy has 3 in series:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8a6EmokLSx8
AFAIK, the only people with Ozito e-Bikes won them in competitions :-)
@bargaino: Not ozito related, but I've had this ebike for over 6 months now, and rate it. https://bikescootercity.com.au/products/viper-gt-48v17ah-750…
Does up to 45kmh (on private property of courssse), has a throttle as well as 5 levels of pedal assist.
Gets at least 50km range with pedaling and throttle while fanging at 36kmh avg journey speed. haven't run the battery flat on purpose at all, but it doesn't drop in power when nearing the 50km mark.
included mudguards and rear rack are super handy for commuting. i got the 27.5" version and glad i did because the smaller wheels make for slightly better maneuverability.
I wouldn't recommend this if you're keen for something that requires zero tinkering and has really good warranty support. Bike parts are super cheap on ali express tho, and it's good to learn how to maintain your bike. I had to tighten up the spokes with a $5 tool, replaced the seat $15, handlebar grips $20, and had to offset the chainring with a set of $3 bolts. by default it was not aligned with the centre of the cassette. I also grabbed a wide-narrow chainring for $11 (stops the chain from falling off - again, aliexpress), and a phone holder for $18 off amazon (anything with good reviews from uberEats scooter / bike couriers, because their phone holders would go through the wringer!). You can also replace tyres and pedals to your liking. Only real con is that it's quite slow to charge, with a 100w charger, so about 8 hours for a full 50km charge.
Wow i really rambled here. alas, procrastination.
@eggboi: Looks nice. Big battery, decent brakes and gears.
The 45km class "Schnell Pedelec" is something we should make legal and regulate IMHO.
I have no problem with them on the newer wide paths (Principal Shared Path in Perth), as long as they are kept off the narrower bike paths, e.g. along the river.
A small registration fee and RFID "number plates" might be welcome, as it would help combat bike theft.
slow to charge, with a 100w charger, so about 8 hours for a full 50km charge.
Not a bad thing if you want longer battery life, and to avoid fires.
@bargaino: Yeah honestly it's not even speed limits that are the issue, it's idiots (as usual). ie - 12kmh is still too fast if you're passing a blind corner. 40kmh would be a reasonable upper limit on wide commuter bikeways with good visibility.
Whenever I'm on footpaths (legal in Qld), I just scoot/cycle with the assumption that a person could dart out from any doorway or blind corner. you can still fang along most paths with ease once you train your situational awareness. The friggin advertising on bus shelters is the worst. You can't see what may be on the other side. Even see pedestrians walking into each other due to this. God forbid anyone ever had to navigate those choke points with a wheelchair.
Just checked a 2.5ah. They're 2600mah 20650. Makes them a great small case option.
5.2ah are 2x the cells.
Are there any Ozito to Ryobi tools adapter? Link please if there's any. Cheers!
Check above - found for Ryobi One so far.
any charger deals?
anyone has link to cheap ozito to aldi Ferrex tools adapter? i have found one in ebay but it's like $40
Yes I'd jump to Ozito if I could find one of these
Looks like some QLD stores have restocked - still won't let me order for delivery, but worth keeping an eye on.
Just ordered one for delivery in Brisbane - looks like stock is getting out there.
Bunnings just called to say it hasn't reached the floor yet and is in the warehouse - so should be dispatched tomorrow.
Thanks Op. Managed to get this deal.
I have the regular chargers. How do they compare to the fast chargers?
I have a drill, hedge trimmer and a 36v line trimmer with no working batteries.
Which deal is better the 3 X 4ah, or the 2 X 2ah, 2 X 4ah and 2 X fast chargers?
I went for the 4Ah, 2A & Chargers pack because I'm getting the 36V chainsaw so made more sense to have a couple of pairs for that and any other 36V I might get down the track. 2 more chargers are handy to keep in the camper for the chainsaw. I also like having some lighter batteries for some things like recipro saw and hedge trimmer for pruning.
Unless you're only doing light work, you'll need 4x 4ah for the 36v brushless chainsaw. We use 6x 4ah for cutting 12" avg sized gum. 2 in use, 2 resting, 2 charging (off ute inverter;) ) swap batteries as they start to lose power.
Great little saw, but uses a fair bit of power…
Just light home duties and cutting a bit of firewood when camping so it should be fine. I'll dust off the Husqvarna 66 if I want to get serious ;)
If someone doesn’t need three, I am willing to take one and share third of the total cost. Can pick up from Sydney CBD or Parramatta. Thanks.
PM’ed mate
The problem with getting more batteries is it will mean more work ! Shame on all of you for even suggesting this, unless you want a shelf of batteries like trophies that are covered in dust, as never charged, so an excuse of why jobs cant be completed .
Plenty of stock now in QLD!
Got mine ! Tks op!
What's the difference between these and the twin pack for $129? https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-4-0ah-battery-twin…
Are the batteries for the twin pack matched for skins which require two batteries?
Just a worse deal.
the 3 or 4 pack are the way to go atm. https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-ultimate-4-battery…
You dont need perfectly matched batteries. I would expect that would be an issue running then in parallel but they are normally in series for 36v
Please dont come at me if this is a dumb question. I just bought these batteries for some Ozito tools that I own. The AGM battery in my caravan is dead and I need to get a new one. Is there a way to use these batteries in the caravan, it has the standard camping/car battery lugs. It is to power LED lights only.
The AGM battery in my caravan is dead and I need to get a new one
Get a lithium battery instead.
Is there a way to use these batteries in the caravan, it has the standard camping/car battery lugs. It is to power LED lights only.
You would need to confirm that your lights will accept 18V before starting anything. Most should as they accept 12-24v, but it can depend.
You would need to also get some sort of a adaptor that could be then hooked into the system. It could be a bit of a pain and could chew through batteries. How would you charge the batteries as well?
Trying to avoid the $200 for a lithium camping battery if I can. The lights on my caravan, interior and exterior, are annoyingly wired up to the battery. So the AGM battery is dead which means no lights even if we are plugged into power.
There might be a way to re wire the lights to mains power but I dont actually know enough about the system or wiring things in caravans.
We never do off grid camping so if I could use these Ozito batteries I would just charge them through the power point in the caravan.
If you are not comfortable with wiring, then trying to get the Ozito solution to work is not your answer because that requires wiring and some stuff around.
I would get the lights rewired to the mains (which would probably need some sort of 12v transformer) or wire it up to a 12v power supply that is then plugged into the mains.
Caravans can be a bit tricky, I know mine has been to get your head around what is doing what and then how to solve.
