Nvidia, this is how you do it!
this comment is about 2 years late to make any sense.
Same price at centrecom also … this is an ok price given its been sub $1400.
These have regularly been ~$1300 for the past year. Ozbargain and its boner for price jacked end-of-life products (AMD GPUs and Samsung phones).
And they really should still be around that price, or cheaper. Unless you need the VRAM I'm thinking a 9070 xt is a better buy
Not a deal considering the new cards in the market.
Not even $1399, not a deal
No, thanks.
Not a deal in 2025
Sub $1400 and I'd be interested
Raster's a bit better than the 9070XT but raytracing is far worse than the new AMD card and there's no guarantee that FSR 4 - a well regarded, competitive upscaling solution - will be available on it.
What do you mean great price when I didn't even want to buy it at $1400 last year? Just because the prices are high for this generation doesn't make the previous generation hiked up price being "good", they're all bad.
Dont forget though, some people wont have a choice but to buy now. My wife had nothing in her new PC, so I had to pay the shit prices that we are currently dealing with (went with a 9070xt though which i feel is a better deal than this card even where they currently sit now).
I had always intended to upgrade my 3080Ti this gen as I normally skip a gen, but with prices as they are, Im definitely holding off, maybe even for another gen. Hell, even then there is absolutely no guarantee that prices are going to reverse, and I even think with the way things are going, prices will continue to climb.
Whether a price is "good" at this current time just depends on a persons circumstance and whether they are able to hold off or not.
Completely understand where you're coming from, but by that logic ozbargain would permanently have something from every category of items.
There's a difference between just doing personal shopping and trying to share it with ?thousands? of people as a great deal.
This pretty much sums it up ^
I dunno, I think we use OzB differently. Before i make any purchase, I check on here for deal history, and also price trends (likelyhood of recurring sale prices,
etc.) I then make a decision based on this whether i can wait for a better price or will purchase in the near future.
If i needed a video card now or in the next month or so, it is irrelevant to me whether I could have saved money by purchasing 6 months ago, and believe me, I am kicking myself I didnt buy a 4090 for myself and a 4080S for my wife when prices were better. At least when people provide current deals which represent the best prices for products at this moment in time, I can go through and assess which provides the best value to myself right now. Sometimes we dont have the luxury of holding off and hoping the market recovers, and OzB is a good tool for getting ripped off less.
The thing you are saying is also very true, but a different way of using OzB. I also scan the front page multiple times a day to see if there are bargains for items I may/may not have been looking to purchase, but still interest me. If I see a pair of headphones for example at a truly ridiculously low price, I may end up purchasing those as an impulse buy regardless of whether I need yet another pair to add to my collection.
Both ways of using the site are perfectly valid, and just because you tend to focus on one side of it does not mean others cant or shouldnt get what they need from the site also. You are totally free to ignore posted deals that are not all time low postings if they dont interest you, but just remember that other people may actually get something from these posts.
I got mine last year for $1199 :X
that was a good buy now, nobody knows what the silicon market is going to do.
This seems like poor value
You can't even run FSR 4 on this thing which makes it significantly worse value
Exactly. With FSR 4, the quality will be close to native and the 9070XT will be faster than this when enabled.
Not so good for gaming but good for locally hosting ~32b q4 models
I agree with some of the other comments. 7900XTX at this price is not great. But will it play games at 1440P & even 4K well? Sure does. I don't have this model of the 7900XTX, but my 7900XTX is a very solid card. I was lucky & bout it when they were $1,399 or so. Well worth buying IMHO if you are only gaming, instead of the overprice Nvidia cards or even the 9070XT. Just not at this price :-(
Are you sure?
