    Wish VIC did this

    • I ordered last year fathers day, it’s a good deal, saved $44.

      • VIC is $700 for a permanent plate. Pretty expensive

        • +4

I pay I think it ends up $125 a year for my plate. Would prefer a one off if I had a choice but.

  • +1

    Wish QLD did this too.

    • Don't they do it frequently?

      • Not amymore, last time was on CyberMonday and 10% off.

    • Wish WA would ever do this.

      • Where?!

        • What do you mean? I wish WA would ever discount their personal plates.

Vic is better, as it's one time fee.

        Vic is better

Not with Jacinta at the wheel….

You might want to ask mods for a sponsorship?

      This

Basically a rego plate subscription for $500 pa.

      This is a rip off

      • +1

Not when you restyle your existing plate.

    • People have a lot of money to spend.

Renting number plates lol how is this a bargain?

    • I don’t disagree, just in NSW we can’t get one off number plates anymore so just trying to save a bit where we can I guess.

      • +4

You're not 'saving'. You are voluntarily paying another (optional) tax to the government…

        • Privatised?

          • @SetTheFaqUp: Is it ?

            • +1

@jv: Can't find infor on it. Doesn't seem to be the case for myPlate.

I am aware various government functions are now privatised, such as the NSW Land Titles Registry Services.

    Good deal if restyling

IMO, dropping cash on a custom number plate is like putting designer curtains on a spaceship—completely pointless and zero impact on the ride. Both my cars are comfortably above average, and guess what? Still rollin’ with the default plates. Because I prefer my flex to come from horsepower, not alphabet soup.

    • +2

Your fleet of Getz has less horsepower than my Briggs & Stratton mower!

    • 100% 45HZL

    • What about dropping $8.5k on a TV?

      • Oh yeah, pure personal experience — the kind you definitely don’t show the world unless you're trying to win an award for 'Most Useless Achievement.'

  • No deal. Only Ford and Holden under high performance style.

  • Question: My current number plate is not custom-ordered, but by chance I like the combination. Can I transfer this number plate to my next vehicle, and what are the costs involved? If the costs are reasonable, I might consider restyling the plate.

    • Yes go to Service NSW and they can hold them for you. No idea on cost.

  • Did they get rid of the generic white on blue version? I was looking at that early last year and it was still there and it's gone - wonder if it's because of visibility under different light conditions?

  • How do you enter the discount code? looks like its reverting to straight up payment.

  • +1

Keen to know where people get the dark grey on grey color combo that's barely readable when it's not being reflected on

    • exactly this, I often see similar plates which are visible/readable only from a few meters away and if distance is more than that those look like blurry area, I wonder why state allows this - to make it easier for hit and run with no consequences I suppose

  • -1

IMO, a colossal waste of money during a cost of living crisis, especially if it's an annual recurring fee. Plates for everyone ELSE to look at. Just daft!
Imagine all the Netflix, Hulu & YouTube subs you can pay for with this money.

    • +3

And imagine not paying for Netflix and the like. ;)

      • Yep, plonk it into shares and compound interest!

  • OZBRGN

  • I have non vanity standard black and white plates.

I want to order standard euro plates in a non custom random combination ie N xx xxx

    How do I do this?
    I only see tow options

    Restyle current plates
    Choose custom combination

    Thanks!
