Musashi High Protein 2kg $58.49, Shred and Burn 2kg $58.49 in-Store / C&C Only @ Good Price Pharmacy

220

Some pretty good prices on a lot of stuff (I don’t really have a point of reference on anything but the 2KG power range). Heaps of stuff showing at more than 50% off their inflated RRPs.

Not heaps of Good Price Pharmacy’s around and I tried to get HealthyLife to price match which they refused as it was ‘below cost price’. If there’s no store in your area you might have some luck with Chemist Warehouse

Get the Musashi 100% Whey - higher protein content. My local chemist warehouse was also able to pricebeat goodpricepharmacy.

      Are you sure?

      Musashi High Protein Blend (93%)

Musashi 100% Whey Protein Blend (92%)

      • +8

Look at the total protein content per 100g.

          Good to know

I’m a Shred and Burn man, love the lunchtime caffeine kick

      • Do you use milk or water, just out of interest.

        • +2

Usually about 1/3 full cream milk for texture and then top it up with water

    • Agreed @NedStark102
Both have a DIAAS around 1.0 which is ok, but the 100% Whey has the higher protein content/100g, less fat and far less sugar.

Musashi tends to have more fillers than other brands, so it's not the cleanest protein, but hard to argue at these prices.
Avoid the High Protein blend if you're watching your calorie intake!

Waiting eagerly for the next amino z sale

same here…. I regretted not buying the previous deal, now I'm nearly out

      • Similar regrets. They had two deals so close together so I thought I didn’t need any more…

        • exactly same thought!

          • @J0hn: Same boat here. I hear they're not keen on doing those sales anymore..

    • Use your credits from last sale to buy a couple for now

    • Pester them with messages on here, they'll listen eventually!

    • Its been so long

Waited for so long…. that I had an affair with other protein brand…

      • Which one?

        • +2

This one - when they were on sale at Woolies a couple of weeks ago

Couldn’t find a decent priced unflavoured whey so I went with vanilla 2kg tubs of musashi instead. It’s not bad actually. I tone the sweetness down with some milk. It tends to clump if a shaker or blender isn’t used.

    • I haven't been on the AZ site to check their prices, but I got an email from Vanessa recently saying they were unfortunately putting their prices up because the cost to produce protein had increased.

      • Yep. Unfortunately two price increases in the last 4 months.

    • How does it actually compare to a bigger name like Musashi?

      • +1

Better quality as isolate and of course outstanding customer service

        • Ta. I've been using them for a while, and I didn't know if I should look at other options.

Pre workout wasn't amazing, although good price.

  • Personally I have a doubt of this brand using substitute sugar in their shake. Comparing AminoZ and this brand, the sugar per serving is similar and this brand is so sweet meanwhile aminoZ is not at all.

Different sweeteners. These guys use sucralose while AminoZ uses thaumatin.

Thanks OP got CW to price beat the 100% whey 900g for $30.89…couldn't hold out any longer for a AminoZ deal.

Time to see if my tummy agrees with the WPC blend. (WPI is Ok)

  • Does AminoZ have anything with similar ingredients to Shred & burn?

  • +1

    Thanks OP 👍

I managed to price beat at my local instore chemist warehouse. Just showed them the website and the item and the manager actioned it for me.

2kg 100% whey each at $55.64 (@ $27.82 per kg!!) after the price beat. DEAL!

    Grabbed 4x 2kg vanilla tubs.

Sadly, I couldn’t risk hoping/ holding out for a deal from Amino Z any longer.

Same just price beat at the same price. However, i didn't know that CW does price beat, i just asked to price match and they price beat it automatically :).

      • +1

        I didn't know it either but I guess I experienced it today - that’s a bonus

  • Geh, I tried the 900g price beating at Chemist warehouse, and even with the 100% whey, the artificial sweeteners too much for me.

Maybe if put it into greek yoghurt, might be enough to counter the sweeteners.

Just did a price beat with Chemist Warehouse today for the Chocolate Milkshake Flavour. The girl at the counter charged me $54.34 when all i did was show her the webpage. The bloke next to her said she needs to factor in the delivery cost and she was saying back "but we still need to match the price of the item". She ended up ignoring what he was saying and did it at the GoodPrice Pharmacy price minus 10%.
    What a legend.

I aswell can't wait for animo deal any longer… price beat chemist - until there's another Amino deal
