Only negative of the G85 in my opinion is the curved screen, which makes finding a screen protector difficult.
at this price. why does one need a screen protector
I dropped mine from sofa to vinyl floor and cracked the scrren and bricked the phone (colour became wash out, touch screen unresponsive, and bleed).

@Sqz66: Probably a case and screen protector will make a difference. Not sure. But any other more expensive phones i have survived the same fall multiple times (no damage), all without case and screen protector.

And depending on your grip, will register side inputs, causing your grip to loose. If the s23 still have problem for me, I can't imagine this phone being better
I love the Moto G85 and its curved screen. However, at this cost, no screen protector is needed.
I have a 13 and 16 year old daughter who've both got these phones and they're pretty good. About the only "missing" feature is wireless charging but given they can charge super fast on usb the getaround here is I have a 100wh battery that does 100w charging and can take it on the go when we know they'll go flat, there's also USB charging in the car if needed so this really hasn't been an issue.
There are cases included with phone which are the type that just about wrap over the edge so you can put them facing down and not scratch your screen.
All in all, very good value and would buy another any day over spending $1600 on an Iphone… they do everything expected including roblox….
As for screen protectors, I've never understood why they're needed, I've literally never had one on four phones in the family and all I can see is they make the phone less sensitive to touch? Pointless unless you're a clumsy person, even then I doubt they save you from much. total gimmick.
G75 for $299 was a better deal (it’s oddly higher specced than the 85)

OLED = more expensive to replace the screen, just replaced my daughters g54 screen for like 20-30 bux, the g82 would have been 80-90 bux (cracked screen on the 82, hence the reason we got the 54 to replace it) - screens from aliexpress

I had a waaaaaaay better experience with this phone than the Samsung A series, just faster and smoother and less bugs. The only reason i changed was i got sick of budget phone level camera. Otherwise I think it's great for the price.
I find the samsung os so bloated on the Samsung A15 5G.
The camera on that device is quite a lot better than my moto g54 though.
But other than the trash camera on the g54 everything else runs quite well on the g54 5g compare to a15 5g
The only decent A series phone is the 5(x). So a55 last year and a56 this year. Everything else under it is quite poor.
