I used my friend staff id it works
      After choosing address
      Choose NSW
      Store location:auburn
      Staff id: 50006612

Then You'll receive your Digital Gift Card after full payment of your first bill, once credits (if any) on your account have been used up.

      • Should you really be publicly putting your mates staff id?

      • Was that for op deal?

  • +3

damm i'm still with AGL and got like $250 credit coz i joined when they did that promo last year to join by 1st July so that was $150 credit? and then the $75 credit from government for past 4 quarters lol. if only i could churn to someone else, get the remaining credit into my bank account then join back to agl to get this deal lol

Same here. Banked a lot of solar feed in credits with them too so I'm stuck with them!

      • +2

It was sucky how the feed in rate went from 0.07 to 0.05 , but then I checked energy Australia and they went cheapo too & did the same.

I haven’t checked but my other option was to move to ampol energy as they still had 0.07 for the feed in rate

        • +1

Ampol Energy was just sold to AGL. I received the notification email this week.

          • @MeagerDollarBucks: Fingers crossed we can keep the same rates we're on now. AGLs rates were more expensive than Ampols.

          • @MeagerDollarBucks: Shit , wouldn’t be surprised if the feed in rate dropped eventually 😢

            • @prankster: It makes sense, we’ve got heaps of solar. The incentive nowadays is shifting your usage to daytime as much as possible.

Or get a battery or two…

wouldnt government rebates just carry on to your new supplier? For me its never given as 'credit' it always just takes some money off the final bill.

      • +1

I read some poster said when they churned they were able to get the $75 rebate into their netbank as its credit provided to them not by the energy company.

        • sounds like a hassle guess i'll churn later

          • +1

@Freestyle: yeah im hoping there will be a deal maybe with energy australia later on to churn after

and then the $75 credit from government for past 4 quarters

Just out of interest, where do you think that money comes from?

      • Tax payers to government then back to us so what in the end it’s $75 credit into your energy bill

        • Tax payers to government then back to us so what in the end it’s $75 credit into your energy bill

Yeah so once you grasp that you as a taxpayer paid more than $75 to get $75, then you will realise you are being scammed.

But some people will actively vote for more of this because they think they are winning.

          • @1st-Amendment: That assumes everyone pays equal tax - in a progressive tax system there's a lot of low income people paying relatively lower tax bills and receiving higher government support, so they may be spending less than $75 to get that $75 back.

            • +1

              @Alzori:

That assumes everyone pays equal tax -

Not really, it assumes you are paying non-zero tax. If you pay $1 in tax and get 90 cents in return you are still being robbed.

Value for your money is still important whether you pay a little or a lot. In the case of electricity, the average bills have gone up by $1000/year in the last decade or so, and in return you got $75. What a deal!
If you are low income this hurts more than if you are high income, but the low income earners still think they are winning. It's the same reason poker machines are more popular in low income areas.

    • Check with AGL to see whether if you cancel you can cash out any remaining credits. This is definitely possible with other providers.

      • yeah i should threaten them and say im leaving for another vendor and then coming back to get the $200 credit and see if they want me to stay lol

    • AGL don't let you withdraw solar credit?

  • "Plus, get a $200 credit for electricity when you join AGL online and stay for 150 days." - can i get the $200 refunded into my bank account if I move my electricity conection out of AGL after 150 days? Don't want to stick around just to use the $200 credit. Could not find anything on the T&C.

    • +1

Wouldn’t you be using that $200 credit over the 150 days unless you got solar panels and a battery?

      • +1

Isn't the $200 credited after 150 days of connection?

        • Ah yes sorry my bad I’m blind tonight lol
Damm that sucks, thought they would give it up front but to answer your question I reckon agl wouldn’t netbank you the $200, it’s to use for your account. In saying that you can always call them and confirm this too

It is asking for a staff ID when I am trying to sign up

  • Damn, AGL suck for me. Way more expensive than my current plan.

    • whos your current plan?

      • Lumo. Approx 5c cheaper per kWh first step, 3.5c second step, and 25c cheaper daily.

        • they dont do my postcode :(

  • Would anyone know if I will get the good guys giftcard if I signed up before the starting date but got connected on the day the offer started?

  • +1

Been burnt pretty badly by this deal in the past. Gift card was given but stolen, not once but twice!! After which TheGoodGuys and AGL refuse to replace gift card anymore.

    • +1

      Get a po box

      • The gift card is virtual through voucher code. It was a series of code that was easily stolen, this was 2 years back

    • mate who's been stealing from your letter box - pretty sad when people do this

  • +4

Not a great deal. Would rather account credit over a Good Guys gift card. Than way one gets to 100% use the value and then churn away once calc energy use reaches amount offered. Perhaps this deal is ok for someone who has something to buy from TGG right away.
Gas rates are decent but energy (Flat rate via Austrid NSW) is expensive with them.

  • Mmm just in time for my 3 month winter absence from amber 🥲

  • +3

You can get the same deal via Westpac. And you will get a $100 gift mastercard which you can use anywhere you want.

  • After full payment of your first bill…

  • Its asking for staff ID?

Update: I just put a link here - https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/agl-offer# - in that field and proceeded, seems like they accept anything in the field.

  • How long this promotion is valid for ? We can move out of AGL now and come back in a month to get these ?

    • Offer starts 12/05/2025 and ends 30/06/2025.

  • Cries in shitty apartment embedded network with a $35/mo supply charge

  • Signed up online and was painless. They asked for the store and ID and i said that I didn't work there just saw offer online and they proceeded.

    • Try NSW
      Store location:auburn
      Staff id: 50006612

  • I have some credit in my current energy retailer, they wont allow me to trasnfer to bank accounts

If i join agl will i lose my credit balance?

    • Yes but the special ends 30/6/2025 basically compare the loss and gain then switch before the deadline.

      • Thanks

  • I just signed up — is there a way how I can check if the TGG gift card has been properly set up?

    • Terms and conditions ?

  • Does the EV Night saver plan qualify?

  • Note, you need to make a purchase in store and enquire in store to get the required details
